What would you do if...?
#1
Ever feel the need to ask someone else's opinion on your situation? Use this as a chance to post and answer some questions.

I'll start.

What would you do in this situation?

You are performing in a musical, Into the Woods, as the character Cinderella's Prince who is notably a man whore. During one of the scenes, you are required to kiss...ok, make out with, the character of the Baker's Wife on stage. The second to last show she and her friends conspire to give you a surprise at some point during the day. During your scene you are startled when she decides to slip you the tongue mid kiss. You let the show go on though and walk off like it was supposed to happen. When you get off stage you say allowed to the one person sitting in the back hall "That was the most awkward scene I've ever been in." To which she matter-of-factly replies "She has herpes, you know."

Call the police and press sexual harassment charges. Then proceed to whoop her ass until the cops show up.

Ok overreacted Big Grin ahem I'd merely laugh it off and hope I don't get the herpes...if I do get the herpes then I'd whoop her ass. Yes. I'd whoop her ass. No joking. She'd have a whooped ass.

What would you do if a girl you used to have a crush on visited you, flirted, then an hour or so after she left you found out she was dating a member of your family?

You won't get herpes unless she, like, has a cut in her mouth or something. I'd probably confront her, ask her if it's true, or why she kissed you like that.

Oooh, so someone was like seriously telling you she has herpes? I was under the impression that it was just part of the "joke"... the first part being the unexpected Frencher.

To be honest, I think it is a part of the joke. But like 18 said, it would be wise to ask her.

Time for me:

A friend from Quebec will be coming down for a week in August, after which I will be going back with them for two weeks. Now, I of course plan to have my friend stay here. I have not, however, inquired into my grandmother's approval of this. I merely wish to know what would do to tackle the situation of asking her. Keep in mind that my grandmother lacks, for the most part, reasoning, empathetic, and sympathetic faculties.

Seeing as my own grandmother lacks those qualities and she started bitching when my fifteen year old cousin(kin to her as well by marriage) came over and spent the past two nights with me(and is now leaving tomorrow because of her attitude towards him and myself) and continued to bitch until I just had enough and slammed my room door in her face. I'd say you're boned.

You could always hulk out on her *nods*.

That's... inaccurate. I'd be pretty concerned, to be honest. Not to be a downer, but in a situation like this being realistic > being comforting.

Really? I could have sworn that's how it worked. Saliva can transfer herpes?

Someone who has herpes can shed the virus at any time. Even when they don't have visible symptoms. I'm not trying to say the infection rate is 100%. It isn't. But if it were me, I would consult a doctor about it.

Yeah, you can catch herpes from simply sharing a glass of water.

Yeah, and those of you who claim that it's probably a joke don't know theater very well. . .

I still think it is a joke. If she really did have herpes, I do not think she would find the idea of spreading a contagious disease very funny. Unless she is one of those people who, out of hatred towards the world, intentionally spread the disease with which they are infected or she has a twisted sense of humor.

You should still talk to her. If that does not put your mind at ease, visit a doctor.

I've got a new one for you guys...

What would you do if there was a specific girl that you've had a crush on for the past three years. In your mind she is the perfect person, down to earth, a bit nerdy, into music, funny, fun to be around, and on top of it all, cute. The big issue, though, is that you only get to see her a handful of times a year since she goes to a different school. You feel that she definitely had a crush on you as well when you first met (damn my shyness) and that she may still...but you both have significant others at this point. You actually are so taken by this girl that she had a small part in the breaking up of you and your ex (though no one knows that). You get to the point, however, that you understand that you are happy and she probably is too and it simply wouldn't work out. You accept your life and begin dating a wonderful person who really clicks with you and makes you happy...Then she starts messaging you more frequently...Suddenly it turns out that she's going to the same college as you are...But so is her boyfriend...and most if not all of your past relationships have ended over college issues and this one is starting to look bad...

Why the hell can't I be happy with my life?

If you are happy with the girl you are currently dating, there is no reason to mess up the thing you have for a chance with the 'girl of your dreams' especially since she is still dating someone else.

BUT, if you are not giving 100% of yourself to your current girlfriend because you are hung up on this first girl then you owe it to yourself, the both of them, and any future significant others to get her out of your system or you'll always wonder 'what if?'

I'll tell ya what I've learned: Dream girls have a terrible habit of becoming real people after you start to date them.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying Yamu...It's weird too, because I've dated people since I've met her that have been "better" than her (take that in a way that's not shallow, please) but never really got over her...I think it's that she was the first person that I really liked and I know I missed my chance with her because of a stupid thing like shyness...I need to learn to get over it.
