How long do you spend on one sig? Be honest now.

I think a little practice will help. We all start somewhere. A little advice.

If you're using Adobe, then these might help.

Zoom in to clean your cut jobs, some of them are sloppy. That will take time, but it makes the characters look 10x better if you clean up the crap around their bodies.

Learn proper color harmonies. Red and green? Not a good choice. The same goes for Red and Blue.

Your text is dull, and sometimes too hard to read. Try putting a 1px stroke on them, that'll be in the blending options. I HIGHLY suggest you use a black stroke. If the text is black, white stroke will work, but try not too use black text too much. In my opinion, white text works well with almost anything if you tweak it properly.

How come no one said this:

At the end of the sig, make a new layer on top of it all, select the whole sig with a marquee, and use stroke 1px, with whatever colour you feel looks right, on the inside, not center or outside.

This is to make a basic border.

I don't especially like them, but meh, good work.

Also, IMO, if you have a text that is thick, like Retane's' sig's main text, you can do this:

duplicate the layer. Do something that fits using a filter, to the top one, set it to 30-50% opacity, and set the text to overlay. Then in the blending options, stroke the text 1px with a dark colour. It usually comes out looking awesome.
