Not really, its been around since people started making signatures.

Basically, makes it look less... 'flat' (can't think of a better word) and normally most people just blur the background or try and make it look like the render isn't just standing there. But that isn't just what it is. There are other techniques. Things like light sources also help.

I voted Celipuardock. Why? The sig looks awesome imo, of course others may disagree. I really liked Laura's sig, but I just loved what Chuck did with his sig. =o
