What? I didn't know Alliance and Horde could communicate in game, through chat, on any server.

And just as a side comment, from my experience the RP-PvP servers are pretty clean from ganking. In my opnion, PvP is as much a part of the RP experience in the game as anything else; the two factions are at war after all.

I am 48% sure you can. I recall talking to an Undead in Taldrissal!

Just checked with a friend who's got Toons on an RP-PvP server: you can't. It's the same for every server type.

Yeah the only difference between PVPRP/PVP and Normal/RP servers is that unless you have /pvp on or you enter an enemy town you can NOT be killed by the opposing faction. You can also have horde and alliance characters on your roster.

You can not talk to or interact with alliance or horde in any way if you aren't affiliated with them.

As for finding a server, go into the game and look at the realm list. You can sort by what type, look for RP with a low pop, and that'll be what you want.

I just started a new character on Illidan to play with a friend from work, so I'm not really interested in starting all over again.

Besides, if I was gonna do roleplay server, I'd want a class they don't have.

Possibly. I'd feel more inclined to if it was PvP-RP (It doesn't feel right to see Alliance as Blue not red), but that's not a "no".

Alot of us are spread out, and not all of us are alt junkies lol.

I'm willing to start out on a PVP-RP server as a horde(gnome ftw though <3). I call UD Rogue.

GG has learned the joy of gnomes and escape artist =D I'm actually really surprised that GG has stuck with it and how far he got, he's on my server and owning =D

But ugh... No offense, but I hate rerollers. I have a lot of friends that if you log their account, they have 16 characters between 5/6 servers, and only one of the characters is level 40, the rest are 30 and down and as soon as a brand new server opens, they jump ship there and leave everyone's characters on the old servers to be useless and they restart all over again and level to 30, jump ship, repeat. They keep asking me "Come make a character on ____ and play with us" every month, and every month ____ is a different server. Once it was Nordrassil (I made an Orc Warlock named Undapowud. I got him to level 6 in one night, and they were all around 20.) The very next day they stop appearing online. I ask them later that week, they all go "Oh, we are on Doomsong now, you should make a character!" Now I think they are on yet another server.

I'm still waiting to run into 18 on a BG since we are the same battle group =D

Yes, I get ganked, and I get ganked often. On my 33 Shaman. And I return the favor by logging my 70 Warlock I have parked just over the hill, and smile as they run away spamming their little /rude /spit /chicken /fart emotes at me that they have macroed (I've got more important keys to macro instead of things to make me look like a 13 year old) and I chase them into the ocean without one shotting them, make them swim around while I laugh, then I Death Coil them so that they don't die but go under water at nearly lethal... Then I turn on Underwater Breathing, and then I Fear them over and over till they drown. And smile as they spirit rez to get away from me.

Yeah, you can get ganked, but ltos of the high level guys are in Outland now, and if you don't want to get pwned by guys around your level... well... Don't hunt in a really OBVIOUS spot by the road.

There's also the fact that a good deal of the beginning of your career will be spent in your side's territory, where you can't be attacked until you decide to attack...

Our local horde 70s that are part of big raiding guilds tend to camp Nesingwary's in STV and also tend to kill everyone in Raven Hill (Duskwood) and Darkshire on a regular basis on their way to Kara, or just nearly anytime they are bored. Its hard as shit to suicide run in to turn in your quest at Nesingwary's and then run off while five level 70s are in the process of each one shotting another group of Alliance that are trying to get to the camp. Doesn't help that the gy is right next to the camp either, meaning you can find it easy to get killed alot and camped near the Expedition, and then spirit rez finally to have a 70 UD Rogue gank you there and then stealth camp you while he waits for others to finally rez there.

That's when you /logout and work on your secondary alt, b/c my one level 70 Warlock isn't going to wipe an entire party of Horde decked out in Gruul drops and Gladiator equipment at all.

Fuck. Yeah. Southshore is like the coming of age thing for hordies. It's raided almost 24/7 on the weekends and at least once a day. I'm not an alt whore, but I do like to try out the other classes. I have..a UD rogue on another server(WoR got to me), but yeah. =( I'm finding it hard to level through the 40s... If anyone has any tips(Im following Jame's guide for the most part, but.. yeah, I'm in Tanaris instead of Darkshire.

If you wanna RP, Shadow Council is a good server. No PVP, so you won't get ganked.

And I've been in the sam situation as those, only the alliance doing it. Like trying to fininsh that ghost quest in Shadowmoon Vally while a decked out human paladin keeps swooping down and kicking your ass while you're doing the quest. Me and my friends tried to fight back but he kept flying onto huge cliffs and we'd fall or he would, and he'd just keep coming back. My friend got bugged and stuck in the quest mob because the paladin had killed his body.

Yeah, ganking sucks, which is why I avoid it.

Tanking is SO fun. I love it, its' nice beinh up front rather than in the back healing. I got my paladin to 52 before going back to my priest. Sadly he's on a RP server so I can't transfer him .

I'm fairly sure the only restrictions on transfers are that you cannot transfer from a PvE server to a PVP server, for obvious reasons. But anything backward compatible or otherwise not mentioned should be fine.
