HISTORY
At the suggestion of King Kai, Bardock went to Earth to purchase a ship. At a local eatery, a stranger named Sky pointed Bar in the direction of a seller with good deals. The merchant, Otto, initially thought the saiyan was more of a fighter ship type of guy, but taking a hidden cue from Sky, sold Bardock a particular Cete’el Interstellar Cruiser. The warrior inspected the ship and deemed it appropriate, buying it on the spot, and acquainted himself with the crew. Surprisingly, Sky turned out to be the first mate, saying the crew was “bound to ship” and they needed a captain to once again sail the stars. Bardock doesn’t trust his new team just yet, especially Sky, but he’s satisfied with his purchase.
CREW
Sky – first mate and second in command, this young human also doubles as a pilot. He is tall and lean with spiked blond hair, and wears an eye-patch over his left eye. He’s a gentlemanly but cheeky fellow, always smiling as if he knows something the world does not. The spaceman is well-known in many port towns, almost always favorably. He is well-versed in ships and trading, able in almost any position required in the field. Sky, although not a fighter per se, is more than capable in a good scrap. He relies more on cunning that brute force.
Briggs – large and in charge, Briggs is the ship’s weapon specialist. He towers over the others at a good seven feet tall, although he is very mild in nature. The reptilian dresses in all black over his gray scales, and is almost always armed with plenty of ammunition. He tends to be reserved and somewhat superstitious. Briggs knows all there is to know and more about almost any instrument used to cause pain or death, new-aged or old fashioned. He has limited mechanical skills beyond complex machinery weapons, and therefore is somewhat versatile. Briggs is loyal to the rest of the crew, whom he considers his family, and has a special bond with Kayley, as he thinks of her as a little sister. If ever a fight broke out, there would be no one better to have at your side.
Smitty – an average and forgettable fellow, Smitty is part human, part machine that acts as the crew’s medic, and doubles as the cook. You wouldn’t expect someone like him to be one of the best doctors in the field, as he tones down his intelligence quite a bit to refrain from alienating anyone turned off by his “medical mumbo-jumbo.” He is of average build with slicked back brown hair, and piercing gray eyes. Smitty is able to get along with just about anyone, and spends any time not in sick bay in the kitchen. After being released from his service during wartime, he was able to follow one of his great passions: food. Although Smitty has above average strength and agility due to his mechanical parts, he is not at all a competent fighter, and so relies on pistols or other such weapons to see him through an upheaval.
Kayley – the youngest of the crew and the only female, she is the ship’s mechanic. Kayley is a skinny teenager with long blond hair and an incredibly sunny disposition. She is prone to bouts of overexcitement and extreme fierceness when the situation calls for it. Kayley is almost always seen in coveralls pulled down to the waist, a black tank top, army boots, a red bandana, and gloves, constantly covered in grease. The little human has an unhealthy attachment to anything mechanical, and always pesters Smitty to be able to take him apart. She “talks” to the ship, believing that the ship itself can hear what the crew is saying. Kayley was taken in as an orphan, and therefore like Briggs views the team as her family. She is fond of everyone, but most especially Briggs, whom she looks upon as an older brother. Kayley is being taught fight and fire weapons with the help of the large reptile.
Hawkins – the ship’s resident AI, able to operate any part of the ship independently. He is incredibly well-spoken and has a tone of upper class, referring to everyone with a proper title. Hawkins is frequently exasperated by the crew’s “lack of common sense” and “emotional compulsion.” He is often the voice of reason, and likes to take subtle jabs at everyone, save Kayley, whom he respects for her undying devotion to the ship, instead preferring gentle guidance. Any job that is unable to be fulfilled by the crew, he picks up the slack. Due to his advanced technology, he is able to recognize unauthorized access to the ship, and has internal methods of defense at his disposure. While his basic programming can be disabled, it cannot be forcefully changed or altered by even the best hacker or virus. He only responds to commands by authorized members of the crew.
