I like the Superman sig. Here's what I have to offer as advice.

Such things as the bars, that are effects of some variety...I don't really like them in some situations. That's one of them. A situation where I find they work well: the Kollifum sig. But other than that, I just don't care for them much. That's just me.

And by bars I mean like, a chunk of the image that's shaped like a bar and maybe copy pasted over another part for some artistic value. I'm not sure how it works exactly, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

I feel that lighting is a technique and you never have to use ALL techniques to make good art. Tom, you've really become set in your ways, its the same routine over and over. I really wish you would get back to the basics sometimes. You have an inifinite knowledge of this craft, yet you use the same standard of techniques. You are doing the same thing Jiece use to do, except your stuff is prettier, still its boring. >.<

Jiece, Nice work, though I didn't much like the superman one. =/

Just changed the borders, I couldnt decide which looked nicest. I thought it was a decent sig.

Its too bright in my opinion, my only advise is to try some gradients. Good work.

I tried to darken it with some gradients, but it ruins the color scheme IMO.

Colours seem unrealistic and the text should be just removed, it'll look nice with no text. Maybe the contrast is a bit off too though.

I revise it, take out the text and play with the contrast and see how it looks...I'll post it in a little bit. Thanks for the tips.

I saw something similar to this on another site and thought it looked pretty cool and took a whack at it myself. Any thoughts on the outcome?



I removed the text and changed the contrast a little, just enough to make a difference. I think it looks better, but thats just me.




C&C on either of these would be great .

When you're making signatures like that try not to make the background stand out like that much. The repeat lines are okay, but they're losing there appeal now and they are starting to draw more attention than the focal.
