The Sixth Son Probe
#1
Fire up the probe! *Mwwrrrrrow*

Okay. Officially Who will be willing to take part in my campaign "The Sixth Son"?

Oh, and if you never played before and this confuses you dont worry, I'll help you along.

The Sixth Son will take place LOOSELY in the Forgotten Realms setting. If you don't know it, don't worry you don't need to, if you do then be warned I will change things to fit my world better.

It starts you off at the first level any class your heart desires. Any non evil alignment.

I don't want to give to many details as to the plot because I'd like you to discover it as you go, but suffice to say it will be a long one. There will be many smaller adventures under the looming purpose of the larger one. This will give us the flexibility to start and stop when needed as well as some.

Now more general info on my DM style.

It will be heavy on the action and roleplaying, but there will be many instances were you have to use your brain first and foremost.

I will reward XP not only for beating a bad guy but also for using your brain in a situation. Often times I will carefully lay out some subtle things you can do to make your lot easier mid battle. If you talk down an enemy you may get as much of more XP for avoiding a fight than instigating it.

I tend to be a little liberal with gold and rare items. I find getting cool stuff half the fun of a game.

What I say goes. I will applaud you if you find a way out of something I did not think of. But if I say "No you can't do that" or "This happens", that happens. Being difficult just to be difficult annoys me. Don't think you can't second guess me, I encourage that usually, even reward it, but when I put my foot down it should stop.

4-8 players is the ideal size of a party for me. 6 being the perfect number.

So with that said if we can get at least 4 people, which we may judging by the other thread, lets do eet.

I'll join ya. I have a couple of questions though.

How do you roll starting stats? 4d6, drop the lowest? 4d6, reroll 1s and drop the lowest? Etc?

How do you do HP when leveling? As in, if I'm playing a Barbarian, I'm not gonna hafta worry about keeping the 1 or 2 I roll on a d12, am I? It'd suck to see the Wizard rolling around with more HP than me.

Also, which books are you allowing in respects to race and class?

Stats will be a point buy system. Since this is a casual game, possibly with a few newcomers I'm goign to do a higher number. Maybe 32.

Race is the standard Human, Half-Orc, Elf, Half-Elf, Gnome, Dwarf, and Halfling. If you want a monster race,extra-planar being something similar talk to me about it but I can't promise anything.

As far as books, I own alot. So tell me which you were thinking of and I'll let you know.

HP will be max for the first level. After that I usually allow one reroll for something particularly horrendous.

Would I be able to join in, being a complete and total newbie?

Like, would you be able to teach how to play, I guess.

Better than you D:

I'm going to have to have to think on the perks and flaws system, as I'm not that familiar with it. If you just want general flaws of course you can though.

As for complete warrior I have to book but I don't agree with some of thier classes. Just let me know which one.

@ Piccolo, sure I can.

@ Zarbon. No half-orcs for you. >=(

I'm playing a half-orc. Just wanna know if I could eventually become a Frenzied Berserker. If not, it's all good.

Starting cash? The average as stated in the PHb?

Oh. And the flaw system is in the Unearthed Arcana book. Basically, you can pick up to 2 "anti-feats" to choose 2 extra feats. I doubt you'll allow it, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Yeah that class is fine. As far as the flaws, I'm looking at them now and I'd have to offer them for everyone, and not everyone has the book. So I don't think so.

I just thought of that. I'm gonna hold off on making a character until everyone else does. That way I can fill a nitch if we're lacking something.
