Outlands

Woot I'm now getting officially killed in outlands, i like it for its money and items but I dont get much of that either since I get killed 24/7 I cant do quests or nothign and no one helps me... Im lvl 59.

And the reason that everyone tells me is why I die is because "You use leather and not mail"

That got something to do with it anyways?

Depending on your class. You should always use gear which gives you the most benefit. Prior to level 70, armor is quite important as most classes can`t keep a mob from melee distance (those that do usually wear cloth).

The only two classes I can imagine that can get away with not wearing optimum gear is the hunter (beacuse the pet is the one tanking) and a Balance Druid (beacuse most spell damage gear is cloth and the Moonkin form gives a 400% armor increase). Everyone else can either only wear one type of armor or would be way too nerfed in weaker gear to be effective. And even the hunter usually wears mail since it gives him/her the most optimum stats.

So yes, if you can wear mail, do wear mail.

What spec are you? What kind of pet are you using? How do you do your fights?

Yes wear mail, like JC said, if you can wear a better armor type wear it. Like my paladin, now that he's 40 he can wear plate, and so I wear it.

But his stats do. And more often then not, Mail has a lot better stats for Hunters then Leather.

Well I dissagree some of the items in leather are much better its not like mail is always better. And Im Marksman and my pet is king Bangalash

EDIT: Its going better now I got better items and Im lvl 60 now.

Depends on what stat you're stacking, but yes, Mail (for Hunters) is almost always better. It's just that previously the Armor Level was being brought up, and I wanted to point out that since a Hunter should never be bloody hit, armor rating means jack shit.

Sometimes you have to buy leather if you haven't had an upgrade in a while and there are no decent mail items on the AH. While you're waiting to get one from an instance, throw on some leather. I used to do that as an Enhancement Shaman simply because +int and mp5 could've been put into something more useful like Agi/Str/Sta.
