Quests

Why don't we just do away with Staff-made Quests and allow members to make their own on the spot? It would really cut down the time for this sort of thing, which can only help.

I mean, we're practically there already. Why not just get rid of some of the excess junk in this system?

Except they're there as writing prompts. It's stupid to get rid of something that some people still want to use, even if you don't want to. People don't know what to write about so we give them outlines to get started. If you'd like to make a quest to do, PM me the idea and I can add it.

I actually like this idea.

The player informs a staff member that they've finished a "quest" and the staff member then assigns a reward based on length and quality. Not only do we get rid of "excess junk" but we deal with people feeling gypped for good old fashioned personal RPs.

If the only purpose they serve is as a writing prompt, surely we could keep a single, stickied topic in the QSU for just such a purpose?

The whole point of this would be, as Rad pointed out, essentially points for everything. This could serve as a good shot in the arm for rping at large (for those who still care about stats, anyway). On the downside, it would create a significant amount of work for Staff.
