It could totally just be the video, but when you're using the same engine on the same hardware, it is gonna look the same.

That said, the shield (and kicking the shit out of it) did look pretty awesome.

Did you think they were gonna ditch the gothic, dark theme, in favor of a cutesy, cell shaded anime type game? And, it's not like it was going to get much better graphically on the 360....

Gears of War sucked ass. The campaign was terrible, the online was monotanous, and the only redeemable feature was that big black guy. Whatever his name was.

Gears of War 2 will be more of the same. Hopefully with the same black guy.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I didn't play GoW for ages after it was released, but I loved it and the new stuff looks cool. Granted I only watched up to the shield and skipped through the rest. >_>
