I can't wait to see what's gonna happen. I have no idea what they're doing.

Debating whether to reactivate or not to try it out.
I have a, like, 70 Shaman, 70 Warrior (crappy gear, like REALLY crappy), 66 Warlock, and 60 Rogue. Rogue could be even MORE ridiculously easy to play... and that creeps me out. ![]()

I liked all the patch notes I read. I think the changes will be pretty cool, overall.
Why do you think your mains are getting screwed, Rei? ![]() "It's on my brain, driving me insane. It's on my mind, all of the time, and if it left... I would be fine."

One of his mains is a Shaman, and it's pretty well acknowledged that they do mediocre at best across the board, save if you're Resto for pewpew Chain Heal.
Thing is, our mediocrity used to be balanced out by the fact that we gave uber and unique buffs to our parties. However, Blizzard didn't like that, and now buffs have been proliferated. What was once a Shaman-only ability can now be done alternatively by Death Knights, Hunters, and Paladins. Our damage has not been increased enough to cover this loss of utility, so you're basically just like everyone else. Only you do less damage. ![]()

This is intense. Mounts and pets as spells, hunter pets getting talents, and the beauty shop woo.

Oh. I didn't realize they were handing out Shaman buffs.
Admittedly, I didn't, like, do a deep, critical analysis of the patch notes. ![]() "It's on my brain, driving me insane. It's on my mind, all of the time, and if it left... I would be fine."

They made the beauty shop for us girls, so nyah.

I might just make my UD warrior my main, because the idea of trolling around two greatswords strokes my e-peen.

Shaman got buffed?
I've only been out of WoW a few months, but Ele Shamans were pretty insane dps after t6 when they hit sunwell, resto was still godlike than. (I refuse to rezognize enhance)

Ele shamans are routinely parsing 1k DPS below other ranged damage classes (3k dps as opposed to 4-5k dps) in WotLK beta.
This is based on many, many EJ reports. No idea how enhance is doing, other than the fact that it's trailing. ![]()

Ele damage got severely nerfed for some reason.
Also, basically everything about a lock got the shit nerfed out of it. They got beat down with the nerf bat. And despite those patch notes, a good number of our talents in the trees that previously worked no longer work. Conflag is only getting 50% crit dmg from Ruin, not 100%, etc. And the real kicker for me is that locks are literally useless as far as raids go. Here's the reason. Our dmg was severely lowered to compensate for "all the utility we offer raids". However, the patches after that implemented the new buff and debuff system. This system means that any similar buffs do not stack with another class's version of it. Now Every ability we offer to the raid is overwritten by something else, as none of our buffs are considered the "superior" buff, meaning having those classes sets it up as if you don't even have the lock. And if we are offering no buffs that way, then we should be doing more damage to compensate. Except we are not, because they decided we are now focused on Spirit, and didn't even put a single bit of Spirit onto our current gear. So that leaves us giving Healthstones and Soulstones. Ok, Healthstones have been changed so that you can only have one of them of any rank period. Instead of being able to give three by stacking your talents correctly. In our place it makes more sense to bring a Moonkin now, because spamming Wrath and Starfire alone puts out more dps than a Lock can while also putting up a couple of new debuffs on the boss that overwrite our debuffs. The kicker is that Druids all have Innervate to offer to another class IF they have a mana issue, as well as everyone of them able to rez with the new Revive (normal rez, no cooldown) as well as having Rebirth, an in combat battle rez that you don't have to guess who's going to drop first in order to use, which makes Soulstone useless. So what you'll do is put in whatever classes will offer all the buffs total, and then stack the rest of the raid with whatever puts out the most dmg (Feral, Moonkin, and Retadins). There's a program online that let's you play with raid makeups completely to see who brings what buffs, and you can get all the "superior" buffs that will overwrite other similar buffs with zero locks, and then stack for dps on the rest. We don't bring crowd control either. They changed Fear and Curse of Recklessness so that we can't semi-control it in an instance with what was called "Fear Juggling". No reason for me to explain what it is but I can if asked. Its been removed though. The first raid is all about undead. Fear doesn't work on undead, nor does banish. Nor does the succubus. Rogues, however, had Sap changed to allow them to use it on Undead. Going to pvp, we are still being two and three shot by melee. So they lowered our stamina to help. On my Shaman, I loved being Resto so that I could actually survive a rogue, those and Paladins being the only things that could over shields, as well as Warriors just beating them down (though on equal terms). Well, Rogues, now get (at level 20) Disarm, which removes the weapon, shield, and all offhand items that the opponent is carrying for 10 seconds. So its a 10 second move against a warrior that makes them unable to attack back, and against anything with a shield, they lose it, dropping over half their armor. Shaman and Locks got the same raid nerfs, to be honest, which frustrates me. Shaman got nerfed to compensate for "all the damage other classes were putting out with Bloodlust/Heroism".

Sometimes I really want to be there when these discussions about Shamans go down.
Like seriously, it all feels like an afterthought, or like a different dev is managing the Shamans every patch. It's like the class pet that no one really wants to take care of. ![]()

Here's how the lock comments went, and I am not joking. "We feel that your Curse of Exhaustion is too weak, so we are buffing it and Amplify Curse." "THANK YOU, Curse of Exhaustion is less than half the strength of other abilities like Crippling Poison from procs, we need this."
The next patch comes, and Curse of Exhaustion is actually nerfed AND Amp Curse has had all extra effects like the increase to CoEX removed. We hear nothing more on the subject and posts made about it are deleted, despite them telling us multiple times that they planned on buffing it to help against melee. Multiple shit like that happened. Same with Shaman. Like, me watching both developments made me feel shitty as I was getting the shaft on both ends. I loved my Shaman one. "We feel you are getting cc'd too easily so we gave you Spirit Link as a 51 point Resto Talent and also this new Ghost Wolf ability that removes snares when you change." "AWESOME". Next patch, both are removed. "We feel that Shaman not being able to get out of any kind of cc at all is an important weakness of the class and necessary, so we are completely removing Spirit Link and replacing it with a weak HoT. Also, the new Ghost Wolf is too similar to Druids, so we removed it. Instead, we are going to give Enhancement another Earth Totem to need to keep up with on their constantly rotating Earth Totems. Finally, we helped you keep your Tremor Totem and Earthbind Totems alive by changing Stoneclaw Totem so that it will make your other totems unable to be killed while its out." "But... Stoneclaw is an Earth Totem too, so if its out, the ones that actually need to be protected can't be..." "Then its doing its job and they won't get killed. Good job us." Not another word on the subject.
