I figured Piccolo would be the saving grace for this film, and it definitely looks like he's going to rape.

The girls look lame to me but w/e, now I actually want to see this movie.

EDIT: And Goku looks too much like the silent hunk type, but I can get over that.

Too bad the didn't get the old DBZ narrator to do the trailer. Regardless, this looks infinitely better than the last trailer.

The changes they made to the storyline seemed reasonable as well.

EDIT: Did Bulma's four-wheeler, like, unfold from a capsule? If so, that's awesome. The whole puff of smoke thing always seemed kind of lame to me.

Bulma seems to be the saving grace actually, and yes, the new way to do a capsule created vehicle was pretty badass.

I don't like that Bulma looks all tough and action-packed, but I'm glad she doesn't appear to look like she knows kung fu anyway, instead looking like a gunslinger. I'd rather she didn't have any fighting ability, but I guess if she is to have any, I like that it's with gadgets and not martial arts

I think what people object to is the idea that he would make an excuse. In the Cell saga, Goku did say he would probably get his ass kicked, but he never tried to AVOID the fight by going "N-no! He's too strong for me!" He tried his hardest, then when it was clear he'd been beaten, handed it off to Gohan.

Significantly different.

But ultimately irrelevant, since this isn't a cut+paste of Dragonball.

The movie is essentially what we do: DBZ concepts with a personal twist.

Regardless, I will be seeing it. The trailer does look pretty awesome.

Bardock's point is basically what I feel. I mean, yeah, look at Burter, he's absolutely nothing at this point like his anime character. If it was portrayed that way in a movie, a large group of people would probably flip their shit over the fact that his skin might be purple in the movie instead of blue, and then they'll pull out guns the moment he doesn't do a stupid Ginyu dance and act as they are acquanted with. Same with Rad and others.

"Inspired by" basically means that, they took the idea and the world and wrote their own version of the events and characters in it. Like a fanfiction.
