As far as the populace at large is concerned, Misato Fujiroka is a perfectly normal, healthy teenage girl. She's a little airheaded, but mostly agreeable--her naive simplicity and constantly upbeat, optimistic outlook makes her easy to keep around, even if she's not that bright. She attends the local highschool, has a handful of fairly close friends, and does her best to stay out of trouble. She still has both parents; they have a strong, healthy marriage, and are fairly wealthy. Misato lives in a two-story home in a thoroughly populated city, riddled with crime and violence, barely moreso than any other place in the world. She enjoys pop music, action movies and anything cute--sporting keychains, T-shirts, posters, plushies, and a legion of other merchandise emblazoned with images of pandas, baby ducks, dolphins, teddy bears, and anything else that happens to strike her fancy at the time.

She works at Mired Rogers Delivery, where she's a delivery girl. Despite her lack of transportation--she's yet to acquire a driver's permit, or even a bicycle--she's one of the fastest and most reliable employees for the company. Her high speed, unrivaled agility and sheer determination to finish any and every job make her hard to beat, and even with how ridiculous some of her deliveries have been, she rarely fails to meet the objective. She's slowly developed a sort of freerunning/parkour combination over time, using the buildings, alleys, and other city arrangements around her to help propel her to her destination. Her boss--a cigar smoking man with a thick accent--often gives her a hard time, but the fact that he still has her employed after all this time says alot. His business has recently began to expand beyond the borders of the city as a result of Misato's talents.

When Misato was in middleschool and began to look a little pudgy, her parents enrolled her in a martial arts class; they figured that the self defense training couldn't hurt, either. This sparked a new passion that would change Misa's life forever.

The first fighting style Misato ever learned was a variant of Savate. Misa's parents pulled a few strings, hiring one of the best instructors from across the ocean--Cosme Dupont--and paying him an exorbitant fee to teach their little girl. Though looking at first like any normal kickboxing style, Savate is unique in that neither shins nor knees are technically allowed in practice--only the foot may connect when a kick is administered. As a result of this training, Misato became quite a bit more flexible, learning to throw straight roundhouses over her head, to sweep, and to attack from a jump. Savate also implements a certain amount of standard, fist-versus-fist boxing techniques, and in fact uses a system of glove colors in lieu of the belts most martial arts would employ. Though a yellow glove in Savate (high ranked enough to attend formal competition, and to instruct others in the style), Misato rarely wears her Savate gloves in public.

Even after becoming a competitive-level expert in Savate, Misato wanted to learn more. The training had sparked something in her, given her something that she'd never experienced the likes of before. Her parents--suspecting it was just a phase, and just wanting to get it out of the way--hired her a second martial arts instructor to fill her in on something different. Hokupa was a large man, an overweight islander running a run down local dojo. He taught a martial arts style closely resembling American Kenpo--a fighting style that, instead of relying on power or strength, takes advantage of blazing speed. The attacker overwhelms the opponent with a blitzkrieg of strikes--a style that suits Misato well, considering her hard to match speed. She didn't like Hokupa as much as she liked Cosme, however, and as a result came out of the training enjoying the style less--she tends to use her Kenpo much less than she does her Savate.

It was while training under Hokupa that Misato met Guyzo. A tower of a man, his lanky frame and casual style of dress helped to hide his truly nature--that of a powerful zen expert from beyond Misa's world. Sporting pale violet hair and a strange symbol buttoned to his denim jacket--the mark mimicking the face of a grinning monster--he noticed something special about Misato. While others on Earth were driven by greed, or revenge, or emotion, Misa was driven by... whim. She was a creature at its simplest, untainted by worldly desires, unstained and naive. Guyzo, in his infinite alien curiousity, couldn't help but take the girl under his wing.

Guyzo actually taught her very few physical maneuvers. Most of what he instructed her in was metaphysical--philosophy, zen theory, chakra gates. He taught her about the flow of ki within her and around her, and he opened her mind to sense the energy of other living creatures. Sitting down to a table with her regularly and sharing therapeutic tea, he forced her to ponder and to push the limits of her heart and soul. While all humans are--according to Guyzo--fully capable of ki healing, Misato was one of the only people he ever met willing to embrace that capability. Most others he'd attempted to train couldn't wrap their mind around the necessities of it, and tried to overcomplicate the process, or simply weren't willing to seperate their energies that way.

Misato--having acquired gloves for Savate and a belt for Kenpo--asked Guyzo what her defining mark would be. After a great deal of studying beneath him, Guyzo finall offered her the symbol from his jacket button--a symbol that she now wears proudly in her hair. A few weeks later, Misato announced her intentions to her teacher. After all of their sessions together, and after finally realizing the steady increase of strife and criminal behavior in her world, Misato had decided to try and overcome it. She wanted to use her martial arts prowess and unusual abilities to help people, to protect the weak from the abusive strong, and to put an end to war and mass murder where she could find it. Guyzo smiled, informing Misato that he wouldn't be able to teach her anything else for a long time--and that he was going to be gone for a while. Misato has committed to her crusade in Guyzo's absence, now determined to bring peace to the world and overcome evil where she meets it.

Vad ♥ Misato met Vad during the early part of her "crusades," the girl frequently on the hunt for people to help or injustices to right. On her way to her last class of the day, Misato felt intense power fluctuations--a battle was ensuing, with Vad getting attacked by two different opponents. The ferocity of the energy being used was too great to ignore, and Misa skipped her art class to make the rescue. She busied one of Vad's opponents--a female officer--atop a building, mostly keeping up with the powerful adversary before Piper (see below) came in to finish the job. Though Misato seems to irritate Vad, her usefulness keeps him from totally brushing her aside--Misato later healed wounds that Vad acquired from that same battle.

Piper ♥ Misato first encountered Piper Juunanagou shortly after she met Vad--or rather, after she saw Vad getting attacked. She technically became acquainted with Piper before she ever spoke with Vad, as Piper killed the enemy that Misa was facing at the time. Misato knows very little about Piper, but is thus far more comfortable talking to her than she is talking to Vad--both because Piper's female, and because Vad is frightening when you're a girl with Misa's mindset. With Misato failing to understand the gravity of either ally's ordeals, she's obliviously willing to help out if she thinks they're in need. Misa's hesitation to kill makes her a little less competent of a fighter than Piper or Vad, though both seemed to have acknowledged that she's more than she appears.

Ki Control ♥ It took Misato a surprisingly long time to be able to extend her ki past her body, especially considering how long before that she was capable of detecting ki. Misato has a short attention span, though, and has trouble focusing her intents to a single purpose; her eager youthfulness and constantly racing mind make it a challenge to channel her power at all, let alone manifest it as a physical presence. It's for this reason, mostly, that any real use of her ki is pretty limited--even when she can actually summon up the will and concentration to fire ki, the blast is exceptionally weak.

Burning Heart Go-Getter ♥ Misato's finishing maneuver, or so she'd like to think. She flails her arms around in her rapid motion, the movement helping her to visualize as she "gathers" the ki out of the air--grabbing at it, as though it were floating invisibly around her. Forming her fingers into a heart shape extended away from her (and toward the target as an aiming reticle), she then releases the charged energy as a sparkling pink ball. The attack is usually accompanied by some heroic speech about justice, love, or whatever else Misa can think of at the time. The goofy motions she goes through does legitimately help her charge the blast, though, as does psyching herself up with such silly monologues--anything, really, to help overcome her inability to focus.

Super Leaping ♥ Misato's poor concentration brings itself up into more issues than just energy blasts, though. Unable to focus long enough to actually force her body off the ground, Misa is sadly left unable to fly. Instead, she uses a combination of slight ki boosts and her own excellent shape and speed to physically leap from location to location. With the parkour maneuvers and good eye for city structure that she's developed as a delivery girl, Misa's gotten rather good at leaping off the tops of random objects, bouncing off of walls or leaping her way from rooftop to rooftop.

Water Walking ♥ While Misa can't actually focus her ki well enough to fly, she can at least make herself a bit lighter. It's something that she does to help her jump higher and further, it helps slow her down when she's falling so as not to hurt herself, and most visibly: she uses it to walk across water. Well, rather, run. If she keeps up a full, steady pace, Misato can use her combined speed and ki control to carry her momentum across a liquid surface--trying it out the first time by running across the ocean to a nearby island. If Misa slows down too much, though, she'll start to sink.
