There is a short one, about 15 minutes of writing.
Gunfire rang out like a wailing child through the night sky, severing all hope that this would be a quiet night. Once again, the local flunkies that called themselves gangs, felt it necessary to war over borders that crossed. Along with the expelling of ammunition; screams of innocent bystanders and those that weren't so innocent, could be heard. Crime had been on the rise ever since the authorities had deemed the killing of gang members wasn't their concern. The police knew that 'bad-guys' weren't the only ones suffering, but sometimes it was better to let things sort themselves out.
Startling awake, Willow Dibrom shot straight up in the make-shift bed she had concocted of old newspapers and cardboard in the seldomly used, alleyway. It wasn't the altercation that had woke her up, but the pain of the unmalicious, and their mourning. Unable to sleep when such malignant pockmarks of society were spilling blood, the white-haired girl took to her feet. Breaking out in an all-or-nothing sprint, the semi-robotic woman blindly charged towards confrontation.
The winged explorer was drawn to the hatred and death, as she had always been. Where ever un-relentless suffering could be found, so could Willow. It had been this way for centuries, and was part of the only thing she could recognize as her own. It wasn't that she was drawn to the violence, but more to the anguish and torment, and that it was her duty to stop it. Sometimes, she felt like an instrument of death amongst a symphony of destruction.
Bullets buzzed through the air, cutting down everything that got in their way. The casualties had already reached over ten people, and less than a third of that number were self-proclaimed gang members. A bald headed man dressed in black was spraying everything that moved with a semi-automatic. Two of his partners were unloading clip after clip, following his example. Their targets were a group of five men donning blue jump suits, who were also equipped with a formidable arsenal. So far, only one on the quintet had been disposed of.
“ENOUGH!” The angelic being shouted at the top of her lungs, drawing a cease to all the firing. It was almost like she had appeared out of nowhere, which so happened to be in the middle of the altercation. Willow had had her limit of misery tonight, and as far as she was concerned, these men would all pay for their blatant disregard for life.
