Art Thread - NO SPAM, rules to follow

This thread is for the posting of anything you've created that you believe is artistic and the discussion thereof on your part and those that happen upon the thread.

Some guidelines for art would include, but are not limited to, music (videos, sound bytes, and lyrics), drawings (from pentap to pen and paper, paint to photoshop), or writing (short works of fiction and non-fiction to poems and prose).

The overlooking of Novella posts will not be frowned upon.

No spam OR the meaningless, "That's pretty good."

With that said, someone is welcome to start the thread posting with something they created for discussion. You're welcome to put what you meant in the work from the start, in fact that'd be encouraged.

If you're running low on things to post about, remember that all things are
artistic in some way.

Everything looks well proportioned Gozen. Were you drawing a specific character or just creating your own? I really like the belt buckle and the bludgeoning stick.

Kaz, your love of Jolie shows in the depiction's lips. Is she taking something off? Everything is done superbly, down to the small things like the eyes and the designs on her lapel (I guess its called a lapel for ladies). And the sword. Not only does it have great handle work, but it comes down where it should on the other side of her body. Is this going to be in color one day?

Gozen is my own little idea. He's roughly based off of a few other characters like Yoshimitsu from Tekken and Hyanna (sp?) from Ruroni Kenshin. I plan on trying to get a more professionally drawn image together when I'm feeling artsy.

That's a very good base, though. I find it difficult to start with lines, because I never learned how to formally draw. I mostly taught myself. I'm very appreciative of the people who do well with the technical aspects.

So yeah, this is about 2 years old, and I'm STILL not good at making pure black skies. Goddamnit.

It's still really good. I think a pure black sky would have ruined the gradients of light and dark, would have been far too much, overpowering. I like this because it shows a really good understanding of perspective, distances and color balance.

I'm no-where near as good as you guys. I drew this in 5th grade, colored it, then used glitter to bring out parts of it. Exact date was 5/9/00
