The Inspiration For Vad; Son of Toma

Early on I was being asked what inspired me for Vad & Trixie. I gave some answers, other times I just said "I honestly don't really know."

Well, a story I was writing with one of my good friends during September and October was the key factor for creating Vad. This is an excerpt a couple weeks into the story and the post consists of both her and my writing. I revised it to remove some spelling errors and grammatical mistakes, but the story remains the same.

Disclaimer: This was a laid back story, nothing worthy of an award for it's writing quality. Just thought I'd share it. ^_^ If you want to ask questions about the story world, feel free.

I guess I'm looking for some thoughts on the story and how good of a job you think I'm doing with Vad so far. If you don't like him you can say so. It'll make me smile.

Some lead up to what I'm posting. Sabrina has just been teleported back to the 'gang' from a little interrogation session conducted by her daughter who she thought was dead. Jericho not a day before escaped from a Super Max Elemental prison with Integra. They met up with some friends, Derick being one of them.

Nina, Jericho and Sabrina's daughter, infused a fatal combination of three elements into her mother. Fire, Electricity and Air. The scene starts with Sabrina appearing back in the room with her friends.

The desk underneath Sabrina crashed to the floor along with her. Jericho leaped to her side, as everyone stepped back in shock. "Holy shit, she came out of nowhere!" Screamed Integra. Sabrina grabbed Jericho's shirt, and pulled him in close. "Damn it, our d-dau....Three elements....alive..." She whispered to him before fading out. Jericho felt her pulse and knew. He lit up his hand and seared her arm. To everyone's surprise it did nothing; the skin absorbed it. She coughed as she regained consciousness, but she screamed in pain. Jericho looked at Derrick, "Shoot her with some Air element" Derrick looked dumbfounded at Jericho, but when Jericho made a move for him, he blew some air at Sabrina, her body again, absorbing the blow like nothing. She stopped screaming and calmed herself. Blood was trickling down her mouth as she struggled to swallow. Jericho noticed her injuries, and her beaten body.

"Who the fuck did this Sab?" Jericho questioned. Sabrina mumbled one word; "Nina" Jericho held his head and jumped up. He stumbled backward and into the wall. He screamed at Sabrina as she closed her eyes. "Our fucking daughter?!" He noticed his wife's face and dropped to his knees. Sabrina began to cry as Jericho was wide eyed, contemplating what was going on. The woman named Chang screamed, "She has three elements! How!?" Jericho looked at his wife in shock. She was holding her side, as blood continued to flow from her mouth. Every time she coughed, blood would spray into the air. Jericho held his head, "NO NO NO" He rushed to Sabrina, and picked her up, holding her head against his arm. He looked at his friends who were still lost as ever. Integra went to speak, but Jericho had already rushed out of the room screaming, "SHE NEEDS HELP!"

Integra sprang into action and grabbed Sabrina "Now.... Swallow" Chang shoved what looked like a large horse pill down her throat and clasped her hands over her mouth, forcing her to swallow. The bleeding stopped, but Sabrina began convulsing. Integra held her down, being zapped over and over again by Sabrina's out of control state.

Finally she stopped convulsing and Integra collapsed on top of her, breathing heavily "Chang checked Sabrina's and Integra's pulse and nodded "They're okay, and Sabrina is stable for now, what I gave her counteracts the effects of the tri element fusion... It'll keep her calm, but unconscious for ten hours or so, we'd better find out who did this before she wakes up. I have to double this dosage every time, which could lead to a possible coma...." she lowered her head to see Derick holding an unconscious Integra. "She'll be fine... just too much plasma from the electricity."

Jericho lowered his head. His hair covering his face. He said aloud for the room to hear. "Our daughter did this to her." Chang rushed over to Jericho and grabbed him. "Where the hell is she?" She screamed at his face. Jericho shook his head and shrugged. Chang planted a fist into Jericho's gut, which he held and fell to his knees. He slammed the floor, and said, "I recharged her Fire, Derrick did her Air, we need someone to recharge her electric element. It should balance her out. But she's going to need a massive amount of it. She was supposed to have Earth in the place of it, but her Electric Element is struggling to overcome it, and losing. That explains why she is unstable."

Derrick spoke up next, "How do you know that Jericho?" Jericho laughed, remembering the prison, "They did it to me and Integra. They changed our Element constantly, which no pain rivals. They did it more to me; it's a high to me now. I actually don't feel it. But the long term damage done is worse than death. I was able to hide small portions of the fire element each time and thus making it strong enough where they couldn't do it; which took, 50 years to do." Chang looked astonished, "How many times do you estimate they changed your Element?"

Jericho laughed which freaked everyone out, "Relax, I know what I have in store for me, when I get to be 300. But as for your question, 10 times a day, for 50 years. You do the math." Jericho looked at Chang, "That is why your punch had nearly no effect on me. Pain is nothing new to me, when you go through what me and Integra did. I learned to block it out, and I had to coach her through it, to keep her from crying, which made them change it more." Jericho walked over to Integra who was being held by Derrick. He smiled and turned to Sabrina. Walking over, he picked her up and walked out to find her a lightning source.
