Hey all, finally ready to dedicate the time to this site again...so here's my rejoining application!

Name: Talys

Race: Generic (Human)

Sex: Male

Starting Planet: Earth

Profession: Student (Income comes while working as a TA/Researcher/Substitute every now and then)

Fighting Style: Calculated and Precise

Short Bio: Born early in the year of 1988, Talys’ mother died during child birth. In addition to such, his father was often away on one of his many business trips. The man was very much a loving father, but also independently wealthy as result of his own business. He seemed to try and make up for the fact that Talys had no mother by making sure that he lived a very, very comfortable life. Rather than taking his lonely childhood and many advantages and converting himself into a spoiled ass hole, Talys instead delved into a deep life of study. This research and practice eventually began leading to unexpected discoveries within himself such as the existence of ki and an unusual talent for psychokinesis. The young boy realized very quickly that these skills separated him from the other children around him and thus drew within himself, keeping only a small circle close to him. The years passed and his powers and intelligence grew. This coupled with his father’s wealth made it quite easy to get into the college of his choice – East City University. Nowadays Talys passes his time studying, teaching, and practicing his main hobby of martial arts.

General Description: Talys rides a little on the tall side at 6’1” and has a slim, though athletic build. He has jet black hair that is carefully kept. For his study and teaching hours (a good portion of his day) he wears a suit on the more casual side of such outfits. In his free time Talys general dons a plain white tank top and jeans, being known to throw a jacket or hoodie over top.

Starting Abilities: Ki Specialization and Psychokenesis

Trait: Efficient

RP Sample: I will have this up soon...too tired right now and need to be up in five hours for work...

I wouldn't include a year of birth, as to my knowledge we haven't established any actual solid yearline on this site yet, although I would very much like to create some type of timeline or year system.

“Chapter 16, Paranormal Psychology…well finally we get to some of the interesting stuff. Just as my attention’s leaving me. Awesome.”

The raven haired student let a large text book slip slowly from his now limp hand to fall a short distance and bounce off the floor. The youth let out a sigh and scanned the breadth of his dorm room, amazed at how often it could take the form of a prison. After spending his entire life studying, most of his classes seemed repetitive and unbearable. Subjects like math, English, modern history, and even basic psychology could not offer the flair of mystery and discovery that they had in years past. No, this individual found his joy in different, more unanswerable studies. Things like how it was possible for his book to, at his will, rise off the ground and return to its position on his lap.

“Still amazes me a bit,” he muttered shaking his head at the hovering item.

Not every part of college experience had been terrible. Like most students the boy (from here out known as “Talys”) enjoyed the social aspects of attending a large city school – hundreds even thousands of other students, large classes, tons of clubs and student organizations, parties…but even more so than that, Talys loved teaching. Being as academically advanced as he was, many options made themselves available to him without much effort. Amongst these were the offers from professors and heads of departments to assist in teaching or even to lead classes of his own. This was exactly what Talys wanted from the University – a chance for him to study and pass on the information that he himself found important and interesting. The young scholar had been deprived of this pleasure throughout the first semester of this, his junior year and yet, now that it had been returned, still found ways to avoid it in the second half.

“Psychology?” a voice from the door questioned mockingly. “I thought you were studying for that history class of yours.”

Talys turned his head toward the voice which momentarily filled the room to see his roommate Chuck momentarily filling the doorway.

“I’m supposed to be,” he began, sounding far more bored than guilty, “but I can’t focus at all. You know how I am with procrastinating.”

Chuck let out a full laugh before responding.

“Yeah, who would of thought that we end up that way. Genius that you are can barely get a three page paper done on time while the guy working his ass off barely hangs in by his baseball scholarship.”

Talys had a laugh at this himself. They really were an odd pair the two of them, but had been great friends since they were children. Starting in kindergarten they had be enrolled in the same schools, then enlisted at the same martial arts academy, and finally decided to room together at the University of East City. Companionship aside, however, there was not a pair more different. Physically at least. Where Talys was tall and long with a slim, though athletic, body and jet black hair, Chuck was squat and powerful looking with a hefty chin and short, usually shaved, blonde hair.

“Well, Professor,” Chuck began using the nickname for Talys that had come to stick around campus, “if you don’t intend to actually study for your class on Monday, you have absolutely no excuse to not be completely shit faced each and every night of your birthday weekend. Come one man, it’s your twenty first! Make it count!”

“Well, what did you have in mind Mr. Charles Harrington Yates VI?” Talys struck back, wishing that his roommates full name were a joke. He stood up from his seat on the window sill at the end of this statement.

“Oh, I have just the place.”
