I've checked with admin (Josh) about advertising.
Well, it's time:
a forum-based RPG run by yours truly is open for business.
It's been open for a while. I first tried running it as invite-only, but that didn't get the ball rolling so it's time to bump it into an open invitation.
This is the StarWars game that you may or may not have seen me post about in the Dev forum here. There have been a few moderate changes, but it's mostly the same: a movie canon re-writing project of mine turned into an open-ended game. You can play however you want, make up whatever you want, go where ever you want just as long as you don't try to interfere with the re-write. (which you pretty much can't, I'm posting in a forum where only admins can post but regular members can see)
If you want to play just set up an account, make a character in the Character Profiles forum, and have at it.

I'll stick my profile back up there tonight when I have a moment.
I'm so stoked about this.

Well this does seem to fulfill most of my criteria for an Awesome RPG. But I barely have enough giveashit to spare these days. Damn, but I do love me some starwars.
Question, and I don't mean to sound accusatory: do you really care about this? Or is this all about your "rewrite". I just don't want to join something the creator doesn't really respect as its own entity.
When in doubt: It was sarcasm.

What's there to respect? It's a free form game, with the only unbreakable/inflexible rule being that it has to stay within the starwars universe. The intention is that you make of it what you will.
This isn't like the Ninjaworld game that I've been tweakin for so many years, where there were so many predefined rules and regulations. For me, it is entirely about the re-write. That's me playing the game how I want. So, keeping to the spirit of that, I've left the rest of the game for other people to play how they want. Besides, the Star Wars universe is so extensive that hammering out iron rules for everything would probably take the remainder of the term of my natural life, but cutting out any places, times, or events would be a major loss to the game itself. This is really the best way to go about it.
Also, if you want to play in the OR era SW universe, that's fine too. The burden is on you to know the important characters, locations, and events, but I'm fairly sure you want to go there because you already know enough to keep yourself happy. Have at it.

I might be reading this wrong. I also don't mean for this to sound nearly as sarcastic or negative as it might appear to have been written.
Essentially, you are planning on writing a personal fanfic in replacement of canon events, and have opened a few other forums in addition so that other people can enjoy just writing some sidestory roleplaying on the side as long as they have relatively little/nothing to do with the actual fanfic being written?

yeah, pretty much. the core story of the original movies is decent, and i don't plan on making space for random new characters all over the place.
but, players don't have to keep their own characters inside the Civil War era. i was originally going to do that, but it wasn't in keeping with the spirit of the game so i made it completely open to the entire starwars universe, and players can go where, when, and however they want.

Alright, I get what you mean. I was originally thinking it was more in line of an actual RPG but it seemed to more be like a forum where someone was posting their own personal fanfic and just allowing some OOC roleplaying to happen off to the side for the readers, as a way of putting it, so I thought I'd check about that.
