Short Bio: Sage comes from royalty, and also from the future - not that she’d talk about either. She clearly suffers from trauma relating back to her childhood, which she adamantly refuses to talk about.
A medical doctor, Sage earned her credentials at a remarkably young age, mostly as a result of covert meddling from the royal house; manipulation that Sage isn’t even aware of.
Sage has lived a quiet and modest life since her thirteenth birthday, having spent most of her time studying. After returning to the past with her sister and her mother’s mentor in order to prevent a catastrophe that would have had far-reaching consequences, she was trapped in the present - or, her past - after her sister, Xenia, killed their mother’s mentor.
After that, Sage and her sister did what they could to survive, scraping money together for food and rent, until they were both hurled into a seemingly unending chain of conflicts and battles. Since being trapped in the past, Sage has been involved in a forced bloodsport game show, a civil war, the liberation of her friend’s wife from changeling royalty, and a war against monsters spawned from the underground of Mercy-Sei, with very little time between for rest.
Personality: Sage is quiet and timid, fearful of new people, especially men, and easily worried or frightened. She stammers when she speaks, and relies too heavily on other people in difficult situations. Despite this, Sage makes every effort to be as polite as she can be, and is extremely compassionate and good-natured.
She has a long-standing aversion to violence and causing harm, and only turns to it as a final resort. Although remarkably powerful, Sage seems afraid to use her elemental powers, and remains unclear as to why. She possesses healing powers and telekinesis as well, though she is somewhat unaware of the latter. Additionally, Sage is a telepath, but cannot control her telepathy. As a result, she often broadcasts her thoughts by mistake.
Interestingly, when under enough stress, she loses control of her abilities, and involuntarily creates a snowstorm, whose intensity increases along with her stress level, from just a few flakes, to a full-blown blizzard. Though Sage is totally aware of this phenomenon, she is at a loss as to how to control it, other than calming herself back down.
Fighting Style: Sage is, on the surface, hopeless in combat. She cannot use ki, she is unsure of herself, and slow to make important decisions in a fight. But her apparent helplessness belies the years of combat training she underwent during her formative years. Years of neglect have damaged her technique a great deal, but under enough pressure, she manages some surprising feats.
Sage is, however, almost purely dependent on both her ki pistol, and her elemental ice powers. Her abilities are incredibly powerful, and she can become a relentless threat, able to rain ice upon her enemies from any direction, and transform the battlefield itself, if need be.
Personal Items/Weapons: A ki pistol originally given to her over the course of Friend or Foe 3. The weapon elicits bad memories for Sage, but it’s usefulness has been undeniable.
Reason For Entering: A man whose name Sage doesn’t know has been manipulating her since her arrival in the current timeline. Recently, he surprised her with the news that a man who had been the cause for a great deal of grief had not been killed by her sister, as she had believed. In exchange for his whereabouts, Sage agreed to pay a large sum, and entered Dante’s Abyss, hoping to win the event and use the earnings to do it.
Sage loathes the idea of such a barbaric contest, and is immensely conflicted with her decision. She tries very hard to remind herself that everything that happens isn’t real, but her conscience continues to nag at her.
