poem
#1
A girl once asked of her father,
Looking out a window at the cloudy sky,
"Chickens have wings, can chickens fly?"
The father replied,
"Chickens are meant to die"
This little girl ran outside,
And cried at the cloudy sky

A boy asked of his mother,
Looking out a window at the rainy sky,
"Chickens have wings, can chickens fly?"
The mother cried,
And did not reply.

A boy asked of his father,
Looking at a chicken solemnly lie,
"Did I do a bad thing,
Trying to make this chicken fly?
Did I make this chicken die?"
The father replied,
"Chickens can't fly,
Chickens are meant to die."

This little boy ran outside,
Where the dead chicken solemnly lie,
He looked this chicken in the eyes,
Empty and dead,
they gave no reply.

This boy looked to the cloudy sky,
Where floated a cloud puffy and white,
The shape of a chicken in the cloudy sky,
This little boy ran inside,
And to his father he cried,
With tearful eyes,

"Chickens can fly!
Chickens do fly!
Chickens fly in the cloudy sky!"
