Shop Item Discussion
#1
I've got some questions about these and I figured this would be a good place to open up for others to ask.

Covet costs 20 monies to get and a Badge costs 25 monies to get. So the way I look at them (since whoever has the most Badges wins)...

Purchasing a Badge costs -25 monies, +1 Badge, 0 effect for opponent.
Purchasing a Covet costs -20 monies, +1 Badge, -1 Badge from Opponent (a net gain of +2 Badge, comparatively).

I could entirely be misunderstanding something here, but it seems that you get a greater effect from just purchasing Covets for a lower cost than purchasing Badges.

Also, about Double. I assume those are used blindly before round results are actually up and they don't stack (meaning you can only use one per round). Confirm/Deny?

I'm curious about the range of the Mystery Item. Is it a prearranged list of items you've generated where you'll basically RNG (die roll or whatever) to see which item set we land on, or what? Are they limited to random items from the Shop List, or even items that have a game play mechanic attached (similar to Shop List) without being purchasable, or are they simply story use only "Congrats, you popped a golden egg with a tiny candybar inside that does nothing special." "Congrats, you now have a Pokemon traveling companion." etc.

Feel free to NOT answer any of these that you wish to remain ambiguous on. I wouldn't want to actually spoil anything intentionally left vague. Smile

Can't steal a badge if no one has any.

Well, I thought it was fairly obvious I was referring to after the first person has cracked and purchased a Badge.

I think that's why covet is cheaper, everyone would, strategically, want to covet since with one win (40 monies) you can afford 2 covets but only one badge, but eventually, someone will have to make a move - or we'll all just hoard the monies until the end. But, if that happens, you'll see a lot of stealing of monies going on.

You can only steal up to ten gold, the price of stealing gold. It's a fairly moot action in that regard, unless a mystery capsule gives you a rare steal.

I would definitely not call it a "moot action." There's uses for stealing monies.
