Alternate-Alternate-Story

So, those of you who were here before the switch are aware that our current characters, if I recall right, are an "alternate storyline" to the extremely superpowered entities of Raditzu, Reijin, etc., who just happen to be going along on their own business while Kaden, Juno, Sophia, etc. go about their work.

Well, we all know what it's like to want to roleplay, but not be able to roleplay as our character for some reason or another, whether it be writer's block or waiting on someone else, etc. Well, I was thinking that we could sort of do an alternate-alternate-story, maybe making up even different characters and creating another alternate storyline with them. It'd be posted in the workshop, and would be nothing more than a way to pass time if you were ever bored, y'know?

If no one else is interested I'll probably end up doing this anyhow by myself, I just thought I'd see if there were others who wanted to join me.

• Blunt and self-destructive, Keiji is who every parent prays their children won’t turn into. Once a great musician, he believes heavily in karma, though he’s somewhat selective in what points in his life he applies the concept to. Friendly to women and belligerent to just about everyone else, Keiji is a somewhat unpredictable character, his constant consumption of alcohol only boosting his more rowdy behavior. However, when he’s smoking, he becomes someone different entirely, completely calm and thoughtful.

Personality: Once upon a time a bold news reporter dared to ask Roy Jackson about himself – and had the courage, or the stupidity, to stick around for an answer. The professional ass-kicker slowly removed his shades and stared the man straight in the face, and then he said, “Roy Jackson is the fucking man.” The journalist nearly had a heart attack.

And yes, he did refer to himself in the third person. He does that from time to time. But that’s Roy, that’s just how he goes about his business – like a boss.

Jackson is a tough, stubborn son-of-a-bitch that just oozes arrogance. But his arrogance does not come undeserved; in his heyday he was one hell of a soldier. Although he cannot recall exactly why he was discharged (truthfully he was not really paying attention), but it had something to do with a serious excess of collateral damage. If you chanced upon this topic in conversation, and perhaps he was a little bit intoxicated, he would tell you that “collateral damage is for pussies, I got the god damned job done.”

Roy is an admitted alcoholic, but he believes this to be more of an achievement than a problem. He enjoys cigars, car chases and good old fashioned fire fight.

And it's not really something that would have to be... uh... "spearheaded," per se. But yeah, I'll get it started. I'll go ahead and make up a character sheet for myself as an example, should have it up soon... once I actually, uh... make a character. xD.

The following is an example character that I might possibly use, I dunno. The character sheet is largely the same as CDBZ's, although the occupation doesn't really mean anything in terms of money. Here, you'd roleplay out a quest, and at the end get an amount of zeni and XP that was based on word count, probably, unless you guys wanted to get someone impartial to judge on quality (personally, I think that takes away from the having fun aspect, but I wouldn't mind). The Abilities/Techniques are the same as CDBZ.

Essentially, it's a no-holds-barred, just for fun extension of the actual RPG.

Anyone remember the Digimon mini-RPG from like, 3 or 4 years ago? That was badass.

That aside, this idea is also interesting, although I don't know if I'd have the actual motivation or time.

It'd be particularly useful as a forum where people looking at a character change can experiment with different character models, this way they'll have an idea as to what can work for them so we don't have people making rapid-changes.
