Is this still a one stop, character improvment, shop? Do the Sensei's still do their thing here? Meaning: Can we still learn abilities here? Is there any requirments to be met?...

Really what I wanna know is: Is this still the shit even with the reset?

You can train with the Sensei's for flavor purposes if you want to explain in character how your character improves their skills. They aren't required in order to learn any skills, and they can't grant you new Abilities. Those are only obtainable through a wish. You can use them to "learn" your Ability in character if you wish, and by that I mean as your in character explanation.

You may want to remove the trainable selection from the senseis page then. And exactly why aren't we doing that? I thought it was an extremely cool idea because lets face it not everyone can justify chasing after magical balls...

Is there not something we could do? Maybe something like for ever x amount of CA you can train for a new ability. If they have to put in as much work as half of the amount they would for all 7 dragonballs I don't see the problem... It could even go as far as every 10,000 CA you can train for a new ability.

It just seems now with the system we have is flawed. Due to the fact that they're are varables that I have no control over when attempting to gain an ability. (Someone way stronger could simply kill me for the balls I have collected) Don't get me wrong I like the survivial of the fittest feel with the dragon balls, I'm just saying we should have alternitives as well.

Kajin Rala, I felt, was an great alternative to gaining abilities. However, now it seems Kajin Rala is just some extra space. There isn't anything unique about this planet except that it wasn't in dbz. I guess it's kinda cool that the name makes you think of Reijin, but really? Seems like a waste of a wish to me.

This will all probably get a giant stamp of "stfu gtfo n00b" but I felt it was worth mentioning. And of course, I am bias. I would like to gain additional abilities in the near future due to only having one active ability and yes, that is my fault. However, just because i would gain the most out of an outcome of alternitives doesn't mean we don't need one. At the very least I ask that we take a poll. Something simple like "Would you guys like to have more than one way to gain abilities?"

Your argument presupposes that gaining an ability is a good thing. The reason we have a 'ability cap' is to avoid what happened before the reset, where every PC had nearly every known ability and infinite power. Things just got ridiculous. Only having two abilities allows the RPG to have a variety of different character types.

I'm going to try and explain this in the context of other RPGs. In other RPGs, we see a multitude of set classes. For instance, Knights, Archers, White Mages, Black Mages, Thief, etc. At Chubbs our abilities create classes in our own way, and the possibilities are infinite. Allowing people to gain abilities too easily, even it was something like 10k CA, would be the same thing as playing, for instance, Final Fantasy Tactics and having every single character have the possibility to ascertain every ability from every class. You'd have one 'mixed ability' class, rather than distinct classes. It would detract from the originality and uniqueness created by separation.

Ummm... Tactics rocked...

Every 10,000 ca is enough for you to go into depth with your abilities and if you don't think so then you don't believe that anyone on the site has done this since no one has 10,000 ca yet...

I understand that we don't want everyone in their mother running around with infinite power because it waters the characters down. They are unique with limits, I get this really I do. However, that doesn't mean that you can't grow... Thats why i gave it such a high CA, every 10,000 is perfect, it means you have to put in as much work panning your character out as Kaden or Victoria before you can even get a chance to train. You don't believe they do their characters justice with their own abilities and could do with another one? I disagree.

You're basing a point of view based on two people who have shown extraordinary effort into making their characters who they are. That's biased and extremely unfair to every member here; including future members.

I just don't believe that. Regardless of your writting skill after 10,000 CA you will of had to of developed your character. It's just too much writting not to. Really, this isn't the argument anyway.

I don't feel it's appropiate to have the only way to gain abilities a competative one. Meaning that regardless of how much work I put in someone can just come and kill me for my Dragonballs. I wont go after the dragonballs right now for the simple fact that if I was Kaden, Victoria, Orion, ect... I would just wait for someone at the bottom of the bracket to do most the work then kill them for their dragonballs. Thats all.

Now theres nothing wrong with the dragon balls, I love them and every aspect of them. I just think there should be something to supplement the gaining of abilities. Perhaps I have not given a sufficient alternative and thats fine, but there should still be an alternative, regardless of who comes up with it. Does that make sense?

I could be the only person on the site that feels this way and in that case I'll just shut up. I just thought I'd address it. >.>

If you feel like you want different abilities, there are two and only two ways to go about it.

1) Pay 75 XP in the ROSAT to redistribute your Abilities.
2) Make a wish with the dragonballs.

It was discussed very lengthily by staff about how many Abilities people would have and the ways to gain more/switch. This is the best way to ensure character individuality.

Also, the dragonball scenario that you listed is what could happen, but based on activity and the general feel of the site these days, a superpowered shit brickhouse blindsiding you for the six dragonballs you arduously collected over several months isn't very likely.
