My Story: Loot Card Has Already Been Redeemed

So, as some of you may know, Blizzard partnered with a card company named Upper Deck to publish and peddle a World of Warcraft cardgame. This card game came with a neat customer draw: contained in random packs of WoW ToGC, you might come across a a 'loot' card, which you could be redeemed on Blizzard's WoW website for phat lootz (items, companions, mounts). At least, that's what's supposed to happen. Apparently (and I cannont confirm this), it's been rumored some hacker came up with a keygen to jury rig the redeeming process and get phat lootz without ever receiving the proper loot card. What that means for those who've received a loot card is that even if you have the genuine article unscracthed, you're probably going to get jack squat.

tl;dr: Bought a loot card on ebay, unscratched, and just got it today. Went to redeem it, and was told the code on my card could not be found even after making sure I entered it correctly. Several. Times.

Essentially, I am pretty much screwed out of my loot card that I legitimately payed for. Just thought I'd warn you folks to be careful when it comes to making a purchase for these cards. /shrug

You need to fix the link but other than that, that really sucks. They've got to have some sort of support planned for this. Was it a rare piece of loot?

Fixed the link, thanks for pointing that out! As for it being rare, it wasn't tremendously rare. It was an uncommon mount loot card, listed here:

I was only out about $9.00, including shipping, so I'm not super broken up about it. I mostly brought it up here in the WoW subforum as a warning of caution. There are people who could spend much more then I on these cards, only to find that they will not have access to that function on the card, which may have been the whole reason they made the purchase.

It was the cheapest loot card mount I could afford. xP Still, as Vad said, I'm better of having spent nine bucks then one thousand for how much some of those cards friggin' cost.

It's not the seller's card. If he had to scratch off something to get the code, then there's no way the seller could have known it wouldn't work.

Still, sucks that that happened, Cringle. If that happened to me, regardless of how relatively little I paid for it, you better believe that someone at Blizzard would be getting an ear-full.

Well good news is the redemption page works, and I gots my pony whistle. So yay! Going to be a bit more cautious when it comes to buying these though...
