Saga - Invasion
#1
But not officially. Or whatever. Not Staff-run. Unless they want to zip in and do it. Or whatever.

But we're doing this, piggy-backin' off Juno's 'Reboot.' On January 1st, I'm going to write up a post to the Earth sub-forum (though you can participate on any planet you'd like) detailing an impending invasion of faux-Saiya-jin alien invaders, with the various planets organizing (in their respective ways) a militia to defend against them. Think 'Dynasty Warriors' instead of 'Street Fighter IV;' the threat is of an actual invasion, not a recon mission by two or three super-strong foes. Hundreds of thousands of troops, with generals equal to or greater in power to us.

With Staff-permission, there will be deaths (is that a legit thing in the Chubbs Uni now? I have no fucking idea). With Staff-permission, your deaths will not be up to you (I'd rather they weren't up to me either, since I'll be participating; at least not strictly up to me). The way the saga goes will be somewhat freeform, somewhat structured. Not all of your intentions will come to fruition; this isn't a launchpad for personal sagas. But your actions will directly structure the story. If your character is treacherous, you may find yourself combating (and alienating) this corner of the universe.

The things I write to move the story will be sparse and to-the-point, but they will be prompt, and they will be there. And I'll be reading every fucking word you write, so don't suck.

And if Staff wants to come in on this, please do. I don't have the authority to kill off a member, nor do I have the authority to mash up the Chubbs uni to the extent that a full-scale invasion with legitimate effects (instead of the lame 'here's-the-threat-oh-good-that-threat-was-met-without-any-long-term-damages' tack that so many storylines take). I wouldn't mind working with Staff on this. Or, I wouldn't mind just doing it with you lot telling me when I've fucked up and fixing it.

This is where you sign-up. I'll be keeping a running list. You don't have to sign-up, nor by signing-up are you committing to sticking with the thing all the way through. However, if you choose to participate in the story, and if your participation is greater than a simple 'Oh lookie there, seems there's an invasion, how quaint,' you do run the risk of death. You also have the opportunity for glory.

Sophia will likely be sitting this one out, but I promise that I'll be participating with one character or another. Seems like a good time to actually get my character shit in order, you know?

If you'd posted two days earlier, I'd be in. But now I have to finish writing my giant epic son of a bitch history.

My characters are currently uncertain about joining, but you certainly have my unofficial staff support.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

If I can actually drag my ass to continue my story, I might join partway through. Rose is currently going into hermit mode, so if she does get involved it'll be getting caught up in things probably by accident.

@18: Added
@Rose: Sounds good; it's easy to get accidentally hustled into the events of an invasion. I won't add you to the sign-up list, but that won't preclude you from taking part.

Does honesty earn respect or inspire revenge? Is it smarter to attack the strong or annihilate the weak?

Just a reminder to all involved, there is a distinction between OOC knowledge and IC knowledge. You can read the posts of others, but that does not mean that your character knows the content of those posts.

I hate invasions.

EDIT: Meaning I would fight them... and, y'know... be in the saga... and stuff.
