LET'S ALL EAT CHILDREN CAUSE WE'RE POOR AND IRISH!
No, wait.
Suggestions For the Afterlife:
I personally think that a good way to solve this issue is to have a Medium challenge quest that allows characters to roam around freely in the afterlife and to the living world as they please. “Escape From Hell” sounds like a sick ass quest to me, and allows for some character development. It would also slow people down from just bouncing RIGHT BACK into the game.
Another way this can be handled is a refractory period of like, an OOC week or something like that for the same reasons. I prefer the quest idea just because it makes it more fun for the writers/readers.
Also these might add a little bit of weight to the gravity of the whole "dying" thing without being overly punitive or isolationist.
Well you obviously can’t peruse the Capsule Corp for new crap (or maybe you can, just with a lil halo), but I thik it would be cool if you had a Hell Store and a Heaven Store, selling little exclusive items that you can’t get if you’re alive. These don’t have to be badass or particularly crazy items, but it would still be cool to have little trinkets that symbolize your journeys through the underworld. Maybe you could only access the shop of the realm you were assigned to?
Have techniques/abilities that can only be used in the Afterlife that might just be TOO POWERFUL for the living world where killing people really matters substantially. Also, perhaps you don’t burn PP in the afterlife? Just saying that might be fun. Cause you know, what’s gonna happen? You gonna die AGAIN?
I dunno if this has been addressed or not, but I haven’t seen it. That’s prolly my fault. But if a dead person dies AGAIN, maybe treat it like a refractory period where they can’t get out of their assigned plane. That way we don’t have people dying just OVER and OVER and OVER again with no noticeable downside. I don’t think it would be appropriate to stack any more debuffs in this case cause it’s just gonna get silly with those things.
Those are just some ideas I had floating around. Do wiff ems wha’ ye will.
No, wait.
Suggestions For the Afterlife:
A quest/refractory period to move freely around the afterlife and life:
A major concern of mine is that a writer can go right back into the fray in the living world IMMEDIATELY (granted, at a CA debuff of 50%). This can mess with things in a number of ways, but one of those is having JUST fought somebody and then having to fight them AGAIN under new circumstances. Maybe you had the partner the first time around and don’t now, or maybe you used an item or buff that is now gone to beat that person the first time, but now they’re back and they have Tier 2 and are gonna shove their fist so far down your throat that you’ll be tasting bracelets for weeks. Other examples include characters who just died going around in quests/sagas and messing with the people that JUST killed them.I personally think that a good way to solve this issue is to have a Medium challenge quest that allows characters to roam around freely in the afterlife and to the living world as they please. “Escape From Hell” sounds like a sick ass quest to me, and allows for some character development. Dead shop:

Dead people dying:
