Looks like there isn't going to be a game. Out of two remaining mafia, one has quit the game and one hasn't sent me any PM. Sorry to those of you who wanted a game, to say the least I'm disappointed. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do.

If the rest of you are still up for a game, I can figure out a way to continue it i.e. elect some new mafia or just do a reset, so let me know. Otherwise, I'll just reveal all the roles so you guys can know what was going on.

I quit because everyone seemed to immediately know who was Mafia.

I quit because two Mafia were killed on two consecutive days with fewer than three votes apiece in an 18 person game.

I quit because it would be a waste of time to keep playing when a bunch of people were already gathered up to pounce on me the moment day three began.

The single most frustrating game of Mafia I've ever played. Not sure yet why, though I have my suspicions.

The rapidity with which the mafia were gunned down, completely contrary to the actual voting mechanism of the game is unsettling. The accuracy is unsettling. While I don't yet have all the facts, from this side of things, the game is teetering along that edge between 'just fucking weird phenomenon-unlucky' and 'dildo up the asshole.'

That's why I quit.

I'm all for restarting fresh, if that's what it will take to play again. I would like an explanation as to why things were going so well for us townies though. My guess is that it was a townie special role, and we just got super lucky. I don't think Greg would allow us to be as successful as we did otherwise.

EDIT: I figured that was it. I thought either Kami or Rem had a special role.

Kami just admitted that he had the ability to lynch people if no one reached a majority. That was a pretty neat twist, and it was super lucky that he picked right twice. Personally, I'd like to see that role in all the games. It'll help make people more decisive.

BTW, I was the Vigilante, and my target was gonna be Sigfried if he kept being a very suspicious Sheriff. I mean, really? Investigated the guy who died. Gave your role away on day 1, with no threats to yourself. What? We're you relying on there being a Doc? Not the kind of chance I would have taken, not with my life on the line.

I had actually already figured out that it was Kami that had that ability, with REM as a possible secondary, but we didn't get the second kill phase to do anything about it.

That's probably all I want to say about it, though, at this time. I've already tried to express my concerns and attempted to discuss it through more appropriate channels.

I was up for a continuation or something and then Meer said he was mafia and didn't like how things were going so he quit, which screws everything up.

I have better things to do with my time than prance around in a lost game with my team getting sniped without explanation, with ridiculous accuracy. It's the same reason I immediately quit if I hang a queen in a chess game. It's the same reason why I vote to surrender in LoL if we lose both our inhibitors and two teammates are still level 2.

1/17 x 1/16 = pretty-fucking-unlikely, and add to that my almost guaranteed death in day three, it isn't worth it.

Also... I may be the only one that misunderstood this, but from the repeated wording that those that didn't vote would be considered as No Lynch votes, and the stress of a majority vote being required, I made a couple of assumptions that were wrong, but I did not know they were wrong until after.

Yes, No Lynch votes and nonvotes are equal, but not in the sense that I was thinking. My thought was that it counted as positively contributing a vote to not lynch someone, stating your preference. My thought was that if a vote to lynch someone had to be all over 50% of the members specifically at a certain member, counting as the majority, then the reverse was true as well, in that if over 50% (such as day one) voted to "No Lynch" and showed that they did not want a lynching that day, then it would be considered as a majority vote to not lynch.

This was wrong.

Votes to not lynch and nonvotes are only on equal ground in that neither of them count, as best as I now understand. They are "the same" in that voting No Lynch basically just means you give up your vote, not that the majority wishes to make a preference of not lynching someone, but that there is no majority (more in terms of group apathy than intended pacifism) and the group simply hasn't come to a majority vote.

Only a vote specifically to lynch someone will be considered towards a majority vote. All other votes (or nonvotes) are considered more in the "Eh, I don't care what you do" direction and less in the "Please don't lynch anyone" side.

It seemed to me that some people understood that and that some people were confused, but that could just be me assuming such and probably is. All I know for certain is that I really fucked up that interpretation due to the wording, so don't be like me.

To be fair, I was going to die first for sure. If not by the shit starter, than by the Vigilante. Everyone thought I was mafia because I'm the only one with a 100% Mafia role for the last three games. In fact, there's NO way I'm playing mafia again for that reason.

Kami just got lucky with Ashe though.
