A pet rock

So, I had the idea that Slyph would eventually fuse her ki with a rock and condense it to a awesome degree. The idea being she could more easily manipulate it/soften it when she needs to/so forth.

Would this be better as a weapon, or as a technique?

There was a similar tech idea by another elemental character and the ruling was that they would need a body split and transform for their like, elemental pet thing. I'm not sure if this would be the same though.

I just wanna know opinions about this, really. It won't be that it fights alone, it's just a idea that I have a condensed stone that I can manipulate with greater ease then normal rock.

I originally thought it would be a technique that was just used before combat, or during, w/e. But then I was curious if it'd be a weapon instead.
