Dragon Ball Mafia: DAY 3

The calm of the moonlit sky would be enough to drive even the restless to bed. Except it didn't. More Sleeptalkers took over the airwaves, unremitting in their babbles and threats. Even more persistent were the Mafia, angered that they were so easily had! No, they wanted revenge. And they would have it.

It was quiet in the home of Dende, peering out of the window for any intruders. He was lucky that the Mafia didn't spot him last night, risking life and limb to save an innocent soul. What pondered his mind was who the Mafia would target next.

A hand reached around and clasped over his mouth. Dende tried in vain to holler assistance to his defense; all his efforts were in vain. The muffled cries were icing on the cake for his killer. A cake called revenge (which was served cold).

SNAP!

With a twist, the neck was broken and Dende fell to the floor, motionless and defeated. The Mafia had the last laugh.

The Mafia has killed Waffuru, a townsperson. He was Dende, the brave Namekian, whose ability was Healer. Dende was able to protect one player (besides himself) from death during the Night Phase. There was a 50% chance that Dende would reveal himself to everyone if he was successful in his endeavors. Edit: Waffuru was also a Sleeptalker.

The third Day Phase starts now, and will end in 24 hours. Do your stuff.

I'm guessing that mafia have figured out my ability, given that they won't attack me directly and are instead using the night threads to try and get people to lynch me. It was fairly obvious from the results of night 1, posting rules, and process of elimination. As such, since there's little chance of them attacking me anymore, I'll reveal my ability:

I'm Gohan. I turn into a giant monkey at night, and ANYONE who visits me dies. So yeah, basically, don't visit me. I was hoping to get a mafia kill with this ability, but it's not worth it at this point to risk other important roles getting monkey-stomped given the unlikelihood of scoring a mafia kill with it. I killed Leo, which is the main thing, and I'm basically untouchable at night. Hence: come at me bro. The only thing I have to worry about it being lynched, or accidentally killing other townies.

Of course there's no way to prove I'm telling the truth. The best I can do is put forward a lynch vote on the person I suspect most right now of being mafia, and probably the 'Junius' gunning for me via sleep talk. Call it intuition, and also knowing that it's totes the kind of thing he would pull.

Unfortunately, until we make a solid mafia lynch, everything's speculation. All I can say is that I'm 75% sure Zarbon's mafia.

You and your fancy words. Back in my day, all our words had no more than 2 syllables, and we were able to communicate just fine. And we didn't need any little green kids to heal us up. Good hard work and a spoonful of fish oil was enough to heal anything that happened. Why, my old pappy used to swear on it. He claimed that enough of the stuff could bring a kid back to life. Of course, no one believed him until the dog died. The very next day, he was back and as chipper as ever.

I'm not sure who to vote for... I'm kind of leaning towards Merr and Jarka for likely Mafioso, but we have very little to go on. Either Doe left us without investigation roles or they've been very unlucky on guessing correctly. In either case, we're down a few townies with no leads other than gut feelings. Which it seems we may have to act on. Oh... you know what occurs to me? I had an ability very similar to Rose's when I was mafia last game. And his particular ability lends itself more towards being mafia than being a townie. While Rose may claim that the sleeptalker trying to oust him is mafia, it's just as likely that it is a Sheriff role that doesn't want to reveal just yet.

My gut says to Lynch Rose. I hope I'm right.

It's actually not likely at all that the person trying to get us to lynch Rose is the sheriff.

Think about it. If the sheriff had visited Rose in the night to find out alignment, the sheriff would be dead. And I don't think Doe would put us in the game without some sort of investigative role. Townies have been really lucky in the past games with amazing early-game sheriff guesses. Unfortunately, that's not what appears to be happening this game.

Damn your new generation logic... Damn my Alzheimer's and forgetting about Rose's ability... Still, I'm pretty suspicious of the boy, so I'm going to see where this line of thinking leads to. It's not like we have any better options available to us.

Intriguingly, you're next most suspicious on my list, Whompt.

I think it's more likely that Doe has 'piecemeal' investigation roles. Nothing that works straight-up, like a sheriff, but investigation roles with special usage rules or which don't tell you everything about a player.

If I were mafia, and I had a super special "investigate/protect me and you'll die" role, how likely would it be that I reveal that role on day 3, rather than let my power weed out all the most important townie roles? If I were mafia, I'd be baiting you to investigate me.

If this were Day 1 or 2 I'd play the speculation game. We're getting to the end of Day 3, though, with not a single mafia kill and we've lost a doctor. Not good.

Because Dende's role specified that he couldn't protect himself and he had a chance to be outed, I'm hoping there's another protection role. That would be fantastic. It's guesswork, yeah, but I think it holds since there were some out-of-the-ordinary stipulations to the power.

Ok, so, I don't think we should wait much longer. That must mean I have a good idea of who to lynch, right? =/ Not really. I want to preface this by saying that it is completely speculative on my part and I don't have anything to actually back it up. Unlike Josh, though, I have some reasoning behind who I think is suspicious.

Because I don't want to think of ways of further delaying the reveal, Rose is the highest on my suspicion list. We have this "Junius" using sleeptalking to paint a target on Rose's back. That may initially seem like a bad thing, but if Rose actually is mafia then it's quite a good decoy. People who move to have him lynched will look like they're with Junius trying to get him killed (yes, I see the irony of pointing this out while explaining why he's suspicious). Normally I'd say that that's just sleep talking and you shouldn't put any stock into it whatsoever.

Then we get the reveal that he's Gohan and anyone who tries to target him with any action during the night will end up getting killed. What a great way to prevent anyone from being able to verify that through investigation. So he's being targeted with sleeptalk to look innocent and then he basically challenges anyone to verify that upon threat of death.

So... yeah. That's the most suspicious set of things that I think I've seen so far. It could be 100% coincidence. I was originally planning on actually voting for Rose, but with so little to actually go on, I want to hear what he has to say first.

It was quiet in the town/planet. Too quiet. Somebody wasn't talking, but who?

The old master sat alone in his room, flipping through the pages of a respectable magazine. He kept to himself all day, "releasing stress" if you will. Roshi couldn't help it, it's what all true perverts did.

May Kai bless him, for it was his final act.

Midway through Roshi's relief efforts, the fabulous John Doe materialized before him. Sporting his trademark shades, Doe wagged his finger before the old man and shrugged. "Perhaps I wasn't clear when I said that you had to be active in this game. I'm sorry old man, but you're done."

"Can't you just leave an old man in pea-" The bearded master clutched his throat, gagging and clawing his neck. Suffocating with his pants down, Doe snapped his fingers as Roshi exploded (wink wink) in a ball of fire. A miserable end for a miserable old man.

Rafael died due to being inactive. He was Master Roshi, a member of the Mafia who was able to kiss targets during the Night phase, rendering them unable to perform night actions.
