Technique Progression
#1
I didn't want to crowd the Custom Technique Approval thread with this...

Ok, so first question is if I had Hyper Feint also as a prerequisite, could I learn Biding Time?

Second, are elements of time travel something I still have to work up to more, or are they not possible at all? This technique would only last for a few seconds. QUICK ATTACK style!

I don't want to stop time like Mal added, I want to move forward through time. My thinking is that with Foresight I can see a part of the future, so there should be some kind of progression of techniques that allows me to put myself there, at least temporarily. So, here's another thought. What if there was a technique to use Foresight to attack where normally I would just see. Then, earlier it was mentioned that there could be a technique where I can cast my Foresight farther into the future. So then with both of those as a prerequisite, could I then get the technique Biding Time? Well, could I get those at all? Because this all relates back to, is time travel allowed? Or should I just write up those other techniques and post them...lol...?

I never said you wanted to stop time. I said the only technique(I meant Ability) that manipulated time was Time Stop.

I read the technique and read its name, the name makes me think of Onyx's Bide. The actual attack reminds me of Alakazam's Future Sight.

Your exact wording states that you are physically traveling forward in time to attack the opponent. Would you vanish into thin air from "Time A" and not appear until "Time B"?

Your actual wording makes me think you'd need Teleport/Time Stop to accompany Foresight.

Your wording also makes it seem like you'd be 2v1ing someone essentially without the side effect of Body split.

You also don't express how long Time Travel Val exists and what happens when she's done? Does she cease to exist?

There are a few ways you could probably reword the technique that it works. One idea would need Body split though. Another way would be to some how use a technique like Retane.

Quote:Stealth- After much training Retane can create KI attacks that appear out of thin air anywhere he chooses around the area he is in. This is a great move to send a move such as Demise and other such...

We try to use Abilities as atomic entities as much as possible, and try not to have too much overlap between what they can do.

If you want your character to manipulate time, you're going to need Time Stop. And even with that, there's a strict limitation to the ways in which Time Stop enables a character to manipulate time. Time traveling forward in time to attack a character isn't just flirting with being overpowered, it's buttfucking it.

You certainly can't get Biding Time via Foresight, and you probably couldn't get it through Time Stop either.

I'm going to say, categorically, that time traveling is not allowed.

To be a Time Cop, You need the following prerequisites: Time Stop, Teleport, Foresight, Mediumship.

Time Stop for the Manipulation. Teleport for the teleporting. Foresight for the future. Mediumship for the past.

Mal, please don't make claims like that anymore in this topic. It's a complicated issue, and it becomes more difficult when contradictory opinions are given. Staff'll handle it.

You're welcome to continue contributing to the discussion, but when it comes to statements of what is required and what is not, leave that to Staff.

I should have stated that that was my opinion on a 'Time Cop' character.

But here are some ideas to actually help you Val...

Moves:

StealthSadSee above)
Hologram: Creates a holographic projection.
Solidify: Makes holograms solid

Now say you had these moves

Using Foresight to predict the movements of a target you can create a holographic projection of yourself, solidify it, and make it seem like it used an energy attack with stealth.

You have Foresight and Psycho right? Hell! The Hologram could be the attack itself.... O_O Kamekaze Ghost anyone?

I'm always willing to help with moves and what not... Back before the reset, I had the most moves in the game(because they really gave me excess flavor in writing). I've even helped a few people come up with moves before.

Thanks for the advice. I'm good for now. I'm just gonna sit on it for a while...
