Maybe I'm Jumping the Gun...

Hey, I wasn't sure if this is something that is going to be added, or if I just missed it. But I was a little confused on how one goes about acquiring crystals. The entire crystal system is a bit hazy on me, to be honest. I understand that you need a certain amount of crystals to do something.

For example, I want to do Fireball. I'm not from the Fire Region. I just need one fire crystal. No big deal.

But how do I ACQUIRE a fire crystal? What if it costs two crystals and I only have one crystal; can I use one crystal and then upgrade it when I get two? Would I get a discount for the upgrade? (Sorry, lots of random inspiration-caused questions).

I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around the crystal thing. Is there a price list coming soon, in regards to how much crystals cost? Do you get a discount on region crystals or is it always assumed you have them?

I apologize for the several questions, in no particular order. I'm just trying to get a handle on how to handle progression.

Hahahaha. Shit.

There's a shop. You use XP to buy slots and crystals. Can't believe I forgot to post that.

Looks good! I think I have a handle on it now. Just one question I was hoping to get an answer for, though I'm sure it'll be on a case by case basis.

If I have Fireball (1 fire) and I want, say...Fireball (2 fire). Just a stronger version. Would I have to buy an entirely new spell or could I just upgrade for a discount?

This might be getting a little too deep in the 'creation' aspect as I know the staff members haven't actually gotten a chance to experiment with pricing yet.

That would need to be an entirely new spell.

So, just to lay it out: Let's say Fireball is 5 XP, and Fireball 2 is 12 XP. Just saying. If I wanted to go from Rank 1 to Rank 2, I'd have to spend a total of 17 XP (between the two spells), even though it effectively negates Rank 1 all together?

I'm not arguing, I'm just making sure you're understanding where I'm coming from with this question.

Yes. That is correct.

Will we be able to edit our own bio and description? Similiar to how the DBZ profiles are: making a post in our character sheet thread that we can edit on our own?

EDIT:

Also; are you equipping spells, or JUST crystals? Here's an example to what I mean: let's say I have one fire crystal, and I have twenty spells that all require ONE fire crystal. I can use all twenty at any point, without equipping anything new, right? Or do I need twenty fire crystals to have them available at any one time?

Thanks for your patience.

You need a separate fire crystal if you plan on using all the spells at the same time. When you create a spell it requires a number of crystals and slots to be active, if you are using those crystals and slots for a different spell you can't use them for another one unless you unequipped them and used them for the other spell.

When you buy a spell, you always have that spell. As long as you have the required Crystals equipped, you can cast it.

You're not going to need new crystals for each spell you make.
