Anyone else playing this? I've been following it for a while as something in the genre I could pick up and have fun with without too much micromanagement, and got it today (really should've bought it before when it was cheaper, but shut up, I'm indecisive). Super addicted so far.

I like how my first Hero is called the 'Galdos AI', which went nuts after people tried to stop its testing. Also, you can basically consider 'dust' to be spice. Gotta colonise dem desert planets. I'm playing as Sophons because SCIENCE, though I was sorely tempted by Hisshi and Pilgrims but I'll save them for another round.

30 turns in, haven't encountered any enemies yet, just been focusing on making my empire awesome. But I'm afraid that my two defender ships posted at my border colony with my defender hero are going to get attacked with no warning at some point. I'm just watching the edge of my visibility for fleets to come rushing in, but nothing yet. Not even pirates. It's too quiet. *paranoia* But I also don't have the resources to leave my spiral of the galaxy to go see what the others are doing.

I really like the uniqueness of the factions. The alignment doesn't seem to mean too much though, cravers aside (who luckily are doing shit in my game). I nearly shit myself when the first alien faction to enter my sector was the Hissho, but all they did was offer peace. Then when exploring, I encountered the amoeba and they attacked my ship, and they wanted me to give all kinds of shit in EXCHANGE for me helping with their dumb war. We're at peace for now, but when it's convenient I am going to wipe out those jellyfish fuckers.

I'm doing pretty terribad, but after observing what the AI have been doing and figuring my shit out, I think I may have started to catch up. I'm determined to go with the game and play it out to the end without any reloading hijinks, unless I'm like destroyed completely in which case I'll start my next game.

This happened to me early on in my game. They mostly just hovered around my colonies, so I stalled them with my shitty-ships while I quickly teched up and built up a few new fleets. Zey were crushed. The last few decades I haven't had any pirates at all, and I've been at peace with all the other factions besides Cravers who seem to be locked in their own territory and doing terrible. So far I'm trying to sit it out while some of the others use up their precious resources in war. When I'm ready, I'm going to get revenge on the United Empire for destroying so many of my ships in the cold war phase. In the meantime, they can fight Horatio and the Amoeba. Pilgrims and Amoeba keep asking for alliances with increasingly favorable terms, but I'm not about to get involved in their crazy religious crusades. That said, I've made inter-species HR a priority so that when the time comes, I can ally with someone - probably the Hissho - to help me take down the Empire. Turn 111 now.

We should set up a Chubbs multiplayer game, that could be mega fun. I think Meer might be getting the game too so if Waff gets it too then we'd have four.

I have no idea if I have you guys on Steam or not, but here is my stramid. If people are up for a mp game we can set something up. Me and Anzekay were playing one mostly for shits the other night, but it'll be more fun with more people. The politics of teaming up/allying/backstabbing in this game seem like it would make for funny MP.

I finally launched my invasion of the United Empire after many, many decades of planning and it seems to be going off without a hitch, if not for the fact that my former ally the Sowers have joined Horatio and the hated Amoeba! Hissho offered me an alliance but they're at war with the Pilgrims and I'm trying to avoid war where possible. The UE have launched some big new fleets but given they've lost half their systems now I don't see it being much but a hindrance in the long-term.
