So here is how it worked.
Originally, MK, Slug, and Tapion were going to quite obviously win. However, we feel that they only were doing better because they A) had more members, B) more dedicated members and C) real life conflicts didn't happen. Pan and Krillin, on the other hand, had the opposite, whereas I still feel they did a great amount of work.
With that said, this task has served it's purpose and we now know how you cope under different situations. No one is fired. Congrats. You all win.
But now, we're going to move on.
There are no more teams. You are now fighting for yourself. In this boardroom, three people will be fired, at any time I want. Your not gonna be working to get the person the team needs to be safe. You are only fighting for yourself.
Survive this boardroom, and you will be in the Final 2.
Here are some individual questions:
Pan- Why should you be allowed into the Final 2, and possibly a staff spot, when you flaked out for this task? Yes, it was personal and needed, but could you promise that this wouldn't happen often?
Krillin- You've done amazingly well for someone without AIM. Why should we hire you if we can't contact you through a messenger, eh?
Tapion- How dedicated are you to being a better staff member?
Metal Koola- You've been being criticized for being lazy(and occasionaly showing in the game), so why should you be hired? It's no secret you've slacked off before, so should I just fire you now?
Lord Slug- What exactly do you think you've shown in this game that qualified you to be staff?
EVERYONE- Give me at least one reason why everyone else left in the game should not be hired over you. How are you better then them? What can you offer that they can't?

Honestly, yeah, I have slacked off in the past... there were points in my life where I just felt I didn't have the time to do anything on this site... nor the interest. I can honestly say I think those times have passed, and this site has become pretty important to me. Hell, I've spent about 5 years here, and knowing that I've been here that long I feel an attachment... staff or not. Staff would just be a (not so) physical representation of how I actually feel about the place. I won't be 'leaving' this place again, I know that. I was even offered a staff job on this site in the past... long before Jeroen's long disappearance. He offered it to me, then vanished for a while. It really wasn't a big deal to me, so I didn't bring it back up to him. I prefer to see myself get it due to the fact that I deserve it, and I believe I do.
To answer the other question, about why I feel I have something the others don't. Time itself is the reason. I have been here far longer than anyone else trying to get the position. The closest person to me being Slug, but even he hasn't been here as long as me, and his absenses were, if I remember correctly, were nearly, if not more numerous then mine. In the end, I think it's fairly obvious the person who will get the position is going to be the one with the best standing with the staff, and who they think could actually be a worth-while addition. You all know when push comes to shove, I have done what needed to be done.

So your saying that the fact that you've been here longer then the others mean you should get staff? Don't get me wrong, I know you've got the experience, but that really doesn't buy it with me.

How about the fact that I love you?
I personally think experience is a very important part of it, but if you'd like another reason, sure:
As I said before, Jeroen had offered me a position a while ago, so I was obviously good enough in his eyes. He saw my capabilities and thought I would make a good staff member... and not to sound full of myself, I think he was right. I would do what needed to be done to make sure the site ran as smoothly, if not more smoothlificently then it currently does.

In reality, I have AIM, and used in a few times during this task (such as getting things settled with Pan, brushing up with Kid Buu while he was TA, etc.) Unfortunately, my mom is a bit restrictive as to what is installed, and while I continue to work off of her computer (which happens to be the only good one in the house), I can only use AIM Express, and even then I can?t use it often.
To answer your question, however, I feel that the use of AIM is actually quite frivolous. If I can?t catch something through one or two PM?s, then there?s a real problem. If it?s something as simplistic as brain-storming for a saga or something, then a topic is sufficient. I don?t see how my noticeable lack of AIM, or any messenger for that matter, is really a big deal. If I?m not good enough to perform as a staff member without AOL, then I probably shouldn?t be hired even if I do have it.

Everyone left in the competition has displayed an initiative for work, a capacity for leadership, the creativity necessary to get things going, and the intelligence to keep it all together.
I?m going to draw on what I said back in the Final Ten Boardroom. My real strength falls in working with other people. In past leadership positions through this competition, I have pulled a team together into a unified being, able to take a Task and complete it swiftly and accurately. Reading back through the Boardroom for the Quest Task we somehow ended up losing, many of my teammates stated that they felt confident under my leadership. They felt that their duties were clearly outlined, and they had practically no doubt during my tenure as a TA. That, I feel, has been the highlight of the display of my qualities.
I find it incredibly hard to pinpoint exactly what it was that my teammates and others see in me, and as such, I find it hard to answer this question. But, if I had to sum up my entire perspective on this competition, and on my thoughts for staffing, it would be this: ?As a leader, I?m here to serve.? Have I fulfilled this statement to the best of my abilities? Yes sir, I believe I have. Is it enough? My Team thought so.

I tried to find something to bitch about for Krillin, but I couldn't do it.
So, you suck for not giving me anything to complain about.

Sorry it's been so long. At my dads here...
But yes, I am definetly dedicated. I am working for this staff position for a reason, so I CAN be staff. I have already dedicated my time to this website a lot, you can tell that from seeing me on a lot.
When I first entered this competition I wanted to get the staff position. Going through the apprentice has shown me some of the things it takes to be staff and after making it this far, I believe I could do real well as a staff member and that is my goal. I am more dedicated than you can ever know.
I believe the others shouldn't be hired over me because how much have they dedicated to this site? I created an FAQ FOR this site. I have spent hours upon hours on this site and I have a lot of experience with this RPG over a couple of the others, which is helpful. My age may have been a turn off for me becoming staff, but this site is supposed to be not caring about your age, just your maturity. I am smart enough, dedicated enough, and I care about this site.
Do the others have those traits?

I just need to contact Reijin before making the first move. You can still post all you want if you think it'll help your chances

Okay. I pretty much got the same response from all four of the staff members I talked to.
It comes down to this. The first firing, and who will be in the final 2.
Tapion, of the five, you are probably the most dedicated and competent. However, the opinion is that you probably are not ready for something of this magnitude. Not because of your age, just you.
Metal Koola, the average opinion of you is, well, your just not really as good as you hype yourself out to be, this coming from just one staff member.
The only other opinion worth noting was that Krillin got a good response. The only problem being, of course, the messenger problem.
Well, sorry, this is where we have to make the tough choices, and I've made my first one.
Tapion,
You're Fired
You just arn't ready for this yet.

Congrats for making it to the final four.
Once I talk to Rad or Rei, I will tell you who the second firing is.
As always, you can defend yourself in any way

I'll expand a bit on the AIM predicament, since apparently that's the main thing held against me.
When it comes down to it, there are two types of messages I can foresee: Ones that require collaboration, and ones that require immediate notice.
If I were to have AIM, I would be online at Chubbs at the same time that I'm online at AIM. Meaning, if something required immediate notice, a simple PM would suffice.
As for collaboration, posting in a topic in the Staff Forum (if such a thing exists) would work just as well.
Perhaps I'm missing something here, but AIM doesn't seem overly vital. Am I doubting its importance, or are you just digging for something to hold against me?

AIM is important, it's really just something I'm trying to see. Sure, it's a plus, but could you be a good staffer without it, is what I'm trying to find out

How often would I need to use it? I can access it through AIM Quick Buddy through http://www.aim.com if necessary, though more often than not, I can't get even it to work.

I want everyone to tell me why your oppenents should not win.
I don't want to hear something like "but he's still a deserving a staff member" or whatever. It defeats the purpose. Think about it. If your gonna sit there and tell me someone is your equal, then I'll probably think "well, maybe I should hire him, then."

Problem is, that's something of a loaded question. Still, I'll play.
I think I should win over my opponents because I don't believe they've matched my attributes. As I said, I work well with people, as has been displayed in this competition, and I hold that to perhaps my greatest strength. I'm creative, as displayed in the Quest Task. I've got the patience to sit down at a Task, labor over it during most of my free time if necessary, and put in the extra hour (if possible) to finish it up. The only thing that the other competitors in this competition have a distinct advantage over me is experience. But, when it comes down to it, how much more valuable is it that Metal Koola can recall some of the first sagas on this site? I'm not trying to belittle it any, I'm just trying to put it into perspective. The experience I lack is more of the History of Chubbs, not the Foundation of Chubbs. I understand how the site works to a strong degree, and I believe tha is the basis for most staff work.
In effect, I'm willing to do the job, do it right, and use all of the skills at my disposal. As I've said many times, it's hard to gauge myself of these skills, but glancing over my previous work in relation to other's, I think I've done a smash-up job.

Krillin: I really like talking to people over AIM, not PM or posts. I find it more casual and like face to face.
Lord Slug: The only thing that you've done to make me wonder if you'd be good staff here, is Evo. You were the owner, and one of the biggest staff there. You started a tournament, and let it run...and then you left. You did not tell the other staff, or the members. Finally I had to talk to you and find out you can't manage Evo anymore, but why couldn't you have told the staff sooner? Well, I just wouldn't want this to happen on chubbs. You decide you have too much to do, and not tell us, and you may be running a saga or doing something important and then it ends up not getting done because you take a leave of absense or something. I have no doubt you can do this job, and make a great staff member, but I have to be sure you won't get swamped and give up, like Evo.
DA08 Winner. "Screw them, this was her show now."

Yeah, I agree. AIM is nice. But, if the purpose of conveying information can be completed otherwise, then it really isn't too much of a problem, eh?
Until I get my own computer (which isn't looking likely until I go to college), AIM is pretty much a definite no 95% of the time.

I could argue for a while as to why I think I would make a better staff member then the rest, but I won't. I honestly think at this point it is all based off of who the admins/staff really want to be the next member. I don't feel the need to hype myself up when everyone here knows what I'm capable of. I would do a splendid job as a staff member, I have no doubt about this.
I honestly think I am the best member for this position, but I don't think that my word is really what matters here. Staff gets to decide, and staff will pick who they think will be best... me arguing as to why another person is inferior to me doesn't really matter.

I'm interested in knowing what you mean by your comment on me not doing "extra". I try to put 100% into every Task given me, and if anything else can be done, I go for it. I can't think of a single example in this competition when I finished my work and didn't ask if I could do more. I try to go that extra mile with my work, not so much that I will stand out in the competition (as I try to simply work naturally for that), but that I can benefit the team.
Give me an example in which I didn't put as much "oomph" as you think I should've, and perhaps even an example in which you think you did "extra". I'm not really seeing this distinction.
