I've been invited to the National Leadership Conference (the Engineering conference of it) in Washington, D.C. It will cost around $2,000 for the trip and room and board. It will last 10 days in total.
I'm asking you guys for your opinion. I'm going to be lifeguarding over the summer, so this could cause problems.
Please, if you think this is an opportunity I shouldn't pass up, please say so. If you don't think it's worth it, tell me. I can't decide and wanted to see what you guys thought.

I'm basically very torn as whether to go or not. That's a lot of money, however, it could be a good investment, because I'm planning to go into Biomedical Engineering or Nanotechnology fields. But, it's still expensive, and would cause problems for holding a job.
You've been to a NSLC, KB? From what it sounds like, you wouldn't have gone again if you had the choice. But did you learn anything valuable, and was it remotely interesting?

I have gotten those but never gone so I can't give first hand knowledge.
Some of my friends went to a couple different ones and they only told me good things. If you have the dough and the chance, you should look into it. Most likely you can take a week or two off work without much gruff, especially for a big trip like this.
