[Server] Digi-Verse: The Search

?Man.? Thought Tidus. ?This sharp little turd knows me, my brother, and how I got here, maybe he knows my way out. Well, whatever the case, I must find Xander first.?

Tidus looked at his little fuzzy ally. He just really looked like a floating fuzzy head with some sort of spike or horn, that was pretty much it. It was funny though, because at that very moment, Tsunomon was look at his new pal, Tidus, trying to take in his appearance. The human was donning a blue shirt, a backwards black baseball cap, baggy black shorts, and Nike Running Shoes, in his mind, nothing short of strange.

The area Tidus found himself in seemed to be the very edge of a forest, but the area Tsunomon was leading them, looked to be a long valley of grass and that?s it. Taking his first step into the sun, Tidus could feel the sudden rise in temperature. His skin had already begun to perspire. Tsunomon looked at the tall college boy and frowned. He had never seen a human before and this slight change in temperature was already bothering him, it was no wonder why they needed the Digi?s.

Smiling at his human ally, Tsunomon began a conversation to deter him from the heat.

?So. We?d better hurry through this part, just over that hill over there is more forest, when we reach that, we?d better be careful, there are some evil digi-creatures in there. Though rumor has it that one of your ?animals?, I believe they call them in your world, crossed over to the digi-verse and is running around devouring everyone and everything on these planes, so it?s probably best if we make haste.?

This didn?t comfort Tidus at all. First he was sucked into an alternate universe, he was lost, talking to a spiky fur ball, his brother was lost, and now, something wants to eat him. It was too much.

?So, do you even know why I am here?? Asked Tidus, hoping for an answer that would ease his mind.

?Nope.?

Short and sweet, he was crushed.

Walking on in silence, Tidus was beginning to feel a bit faint. The heat had continued to rise with every step and it felt like at least 110 degrees already, but they were nearly out of the sunlight, it look like a mile or so left before they would break the forest threshold. Every step made a thud in his body, jerking him about, until he nearly passed out.

?So, I?m really stuck here, huh?? Asked Tidus, speaking for the first time in about an hour.

Tsunomon looked up at his human friend, a sad look upon his face.

?You already don?t like Digi World, do you?? Asked Tsunomon.

Tidus laughed.

?In all honesty, it more beautiful then my world,? started Tidus, a smile spreading across his dampened face. ?But then again, I live in a city.?

?Oww!? Cried out Tsunomon. ?You live in a city! Tell me all about it! I?ve heard great things about cities. I?ve always wanted to travel to Folder, I hear it?s the most beautiful and wondrous city of all Digiworld. Can you tell me about your city, please!?

Tidus laughed.

?I?ll make you a deal,? smiled the tired human. ?You get us off this plane and into shade, and I?ll tell you all about it.?

Tsunomon smiled.

?Deal.?

However, little did they know that the ?beast? was lurking just over the next hill.

Tidus smiled as much as he could as he made his way over the final hill. He could already see the shade, it looked so cool and inviting. Turning towards his Digi-pal, Tidus smirked.

?So you can hover, but how fast are you?? Asked the human mockingly.

Tsunomon understood where this was going and smiled back.

?Probably faster than those chicken legs can take you.? Mocked the Digimon back. ?Ready??

Tidus smiled and the two stopped dead in their tracks.

?GO!? Yelled Tidus, and they were off.

Back in high school, Tidus was one of, if not the fastest person in his school. He ran track, cross country, played football, hockey, and lacrosse, so he could move, though he was impressed to see the limbless creature keeping up with him. The two figures bolted across the plain, picking up more and more speed as they zoomed down the hill, nearing the forest wall with every second, that?s when time began to slow down. Tsunomon hadn?t noticed the two glaring eyes in the brush right at the forest wall, but there it was, the Beast. Launching itself outwards towards the unaware Digimon, it sharp claws extracted themselves and that?s when time sped back up.

Tidus stopped dead in his tracks, nearly walling over, but this only caused Tsunomon to turn around to see what had happened to his human friend. The ?deer in headlights? stair told the digimon that something was amiss, turning back around, he let out a shriek as the Beast came towards him full speed. Turning and floating away, Tsunomon tried to distance himself from the beast, but it was too late, he was caught. Taking one last burst of speed, the limbless Digimon was shocked to see his human partner fly through the air and tackle the Beast in the side. The human and animal rolled over and over, spinning down the hill with increasing speed, Tsunomon could do nothing but watch as they finally came to a crashing halt at the bottom of the hill. The limbless digimon cried out for Tidus to stand, but the Beast was already at it?s feet.

?Damned wolves.? Cursed Tidus under his breath, sitting up to his hands and knees, trying to catch his breath.

The human turned just in time to see the beast making an attempt at his life, but to his great surprise, Tsunomon came barreling down the hill and delivered a massive head butt to the wolves side, breaking it?s leg. The wolf let out a sickening cry as it fell to its side, trying constantly to stand, but it was no use.

Tidus got quickly to his feet, staring down the creature that had just attempted to kill him. Tsunomon was off to the left, dizzy and spinning around, yelling something about ?the end of the world as he knew it?. Walking carefully towards the fallen animal, Tidus was shocked to see that it wasn?t trying to attack him anymore, instead it was trying to get comforted. Placing a hand on the wolves fur, the black haired human began to stroke it?s fur and it seemed to settle the wolf down quite a bit. Taking it?s paw, Tidus ripped off a part of his shirt and tied it around the animals leg. Standing quickly and limping off into the forest, the wolf turned once as if to get a last look at him, then it disappeared into the darkness.

Tsunomon came back around the corner and look at his human.

?Man.? Spoke the Digimon quickly. ?That was a close...?

Suddenly a bear came crashing through the forest and landed a massive paw to Tidus?s face, sending a deep gash across the human?s forehead. Tsunomon gave another shriek and tried to push Tidus over, but the human was too shocked to do anything but lift a foot direclty between the bear?s legs. It didn?t work nearly as good as he had hoped. The bear raised itself high into the air, preparing for another strike. Tidus lay down, playing dead, blood pouring from his head, waiting for the bear to strike.

"Tidus!" Tsunomon lept forward to help his new found friend. "Look out!"

Tidus stayed perfectly still, until he realized the bear was now looking at Tsunomon. Tidus sat up, raising his hand. "No, stay away!"

"I got him!" Tsunomon shouted. "Just raise the digivice!"

Tsunomon digivolve to...

The pincushion horn split into two and became two bunny ears on the growing monster. Four limbs stuck out, the color of the fur reddening into the shade of blood. Blue stripes began to dot over the body, completing the grown form.

?Fricka Fricka!? Cried out the newly transformed version of Tsunomon. ?Never fear, Elecmon is here!?

Rolling his eyes, Tidus rolled backwards and got to his feet as the bear made a swipe at his downed body. Finding himself unsteady, the human began to stumble backwards, finally tripping over the strutting, Digimon. Falling to his back once again, the black haired human gasped at the bear bound for him, jumping into the air and bringing it?s claw straight down. Finally, Elecmon did something.

Letting loose a cried that hurt even the bears ears, Elecmon thrust his hand forward, palm out.

?Stop!? The Digimon was signing. ?In the name of love.?

The Digimon?s palm struck the bear in the nose, knocking it over, onto its back. Rolling itself over, it got to all fours and charged the little beast. Suddenly, the Elecmon?s tail began to glow. Jumping high into the air and spinning in a bunch of circles, the Digimon finally leveled out, it?s tail aimed over it?s head as it bowed slightly.

?Sparkling Thunder!? Cried the little orange beast as a huge bolt of electricity shot out from it?s tail. The air around the bolt of power crackled and whistled as the energy made its way quickly towards the bear, who didn?t have enough time to react.

The bolt struck the beast with incredible power. Standing straight up and stopping dead in its tracks, the bear must have been hit with the hardest punch it had ever felt for as it stopped convulsing, it fell to it?s side, dead. Elecmon fell to his feet and smirked.

?Show stoppa.?

Tidus cocked a brow.

?Man, you?re definitely a strange one.? Turning from the Digimon, Tidus mad his way towards the downed bear.

He was as dead as you could get. Turning back towards his one liner Digimon, Tidus was shocked to see him transforming back to his first form, Tsunomon. Walking up to the creature, the human picked up his pal.

?Would you kindly like to explain to me what happened there?? Asked Tidus smirkingly

So Tsunomon explained the entire ordeal of Digi-Evolution and how it responds to the feelings of the human and the Digi-Vise. All Tidus could do was smile and nod, that?s when he realized that his found still needed treating. Rushing over to a flowing stream, just within the forest walls, Tidus began to splash the water on his face. Just under the surface of the water, there looked to be a school of fish, or at least he thought they were just fish until one turned to him and said ?hi?.

Shaking his head and splashing one last bit of water onto his face, Tidus stood up, finding something he wasn?t too happy about. The wolf was back. Snarling towards the human the beast lunged. Closing his eyes and ducking, hoping that it would make the beast disappear, Tidus was shocked to not get pummeled by the beast, instead, a barking noise came from behind him. His eyes shot wide open as a squeal, then a body dropped. Turning around, Tidus saw the wolf had actually killed a second wolf. Limping back towards the frightened human, the dog-like creature laid down at his feet, panting wildly. It would seem as if Tidus, had acquired another partner.

?Boy.? Thought the human. ?This just gets weirder and weirder.?

OOC: yup. The wolf is my second partner now. I took care of him and now he?s taking care of me.

Tsunomon was whistling a nice tune as the trio began they voyage once again, searching for Xander Halliwell, Tidus? twin brother. Both of the brothers were crazy athletic, one skilled in something that the other wasn?t, probably the reason why they still lived together. Xander was smarter, by far, Tidus on the other hand, was slightly faster than the younger brother, but that was pretty much it, other than the looks, they were identical.

BAM!

Tidus had tripped on an overgrown tree root and fell flat on his face. Laughing hysterically, Tsunomon was soon gasping for air. The wolf, which he had no name, began to nudge him gently with his nose. Standing back up and giving the Digimon an evil glare, Tsunomon smirked and began to whistle his tune a bit more loudly, trying to keep from cracking up once again. Tidus however, cracked a smile. He always found it humorous when he would fall, though it was mostly bumping his head on stuff, it always made him realized the potential that he had, though he was unsure as to why. Shrugging away the thoughts, Tidus began to whistle along with Tsunomon and the three crazy characters continued onward, down the same path through the dark dank forest, until they saw some smoke up ahead.

?Hey, smoke!? Cried out Tsunomon, as if they hadn?t noticed it. ?Maybe Xander is there.?

For a brief moment, everything was looking up for Tidus. Ever since his first few seconds in this strange world, life seemed darker than ever, but now, his brother was hopefully, just around the corner. Taking off at a full sprint, Tsunomon and the wolf were left far behind, allowing the human to make first contact, alone. Breaking through a brush and finding himself once again alone, Tidus fell to the forest floor in a slump. The smoke had been coming from a dull red blaze, mostly ashes, telling him that anyone that was here, was long gone. Feeling a twinge of pain in his throat as he held back tears, the black haired human picked up a rock and tossed it far into the thick forest. Sitting back down on a log, Tidus was finally joined by Tsunomon and the wolf.

Tsunomon landed right next to the brown haired human and laid himself down against his side, trying to be as comforting as he could. The wolf took his turn as well, laying his head across the man?s legs, allowing him to pet his head. Stroking the wolfs head, Tidus realized that he had no name. Looking around for any sort of ID tag, the human came up with nothing.

?Fine. Bandit it is.? Tidus spoke, holding back more tears. ?You like that??

The wolf looked up in an almost approving way and gave the human a low howl, then he returned his head to Tidus? lap.

?Well guys.? Tidus spoke standing up. ?He?s out there somewhere and the way I see it, us three need to find him and there is nothing that can stop us.?

The sudden change of emotion confused Bandit and Tsunomon a bit, but they joined in the fun, howling and cheering along with their human partner.

?I?ll find you Bro.? Tidus thought to himself as they began their journey once again. ?I?ll find you.?

Suddenly, a there was a deep growling coming from very nearby. Bandit dropped down low and began to growl back, waiting, listening. Tsunomon on the other hand, shot high into the air, once again screaming something about the ?end of the world?. Looking down and placing a hand on his stomach, Tidus gave a little chuckle. Sitting down on the ground, then falling to his back, Tsunomon and Bandit seemed to understand that there was nothing wrong. Moving towards their human companion, they waited for an explanation, once again, the growling ensued and violently turned into a massive rumble.

?Guys.? Spoke Tidus loudly. ?I?m hungry. I need to eat.?

Tsunomon laughed loudly, finally understanding what the growl/rumble was. Explaining it to the wolf, something hit Tidus, Digimon can speak to animals, though that was unimportant at the time, for the growling continued. Pushing Tidus to his feet, Bandit motioned for the human and Digimon to follow him. Taking off at a run, the wolf began to lose them, but not long after he began to run, he stopped. Tidus walked past his companion and through a brush, finding yet another streaming river, this time, there were real fish. Thrusting his head down into the water at lightning fast speed, Bandit snagged a fist and tossed it high up onto the river bank. The bass hopped and jumped until it finally collapsed and suffocated.

?Good idea Bandit.? Nodded Tidus. ?Tsunomon, go find us some twigs and stuff, I?ll find us some rocks, we?ll make us a nice fire and cook this suckers.?

Tsunomon smiled at his human companion and turned to find some twigs. Tidus was only gone for maybe five minutes, but when he had come back, Tsunomon had digivolved back into Elecmon and had started a fire, the bass were already over it on a hand crafted spin wheel. Smiling, the human placed the rocks around the fire and then sat next to his comrades. Looking up into the sky, it was clear, but darkening.

?Well.? Tidus said, breaking the silence as the fish popped and sizzled. ?Looks like this is where we?ll be camping tonight.?

Elecmon perked up and sudden Digivolved once again, this time, he was looking tired. Guessing that the evolution that the Digimon make takes a toll on their bodies and that must mean that they couldn?t do it all the time.

?They?re done!? Cried out Tsunomon as he lifted his stick off the fire and began to devour the fish, unfortunately, it burnt his mouth. Screaming, the Digimon did a face plant into the water, coming up for breath and slowly making his way back to his laughing human partner.

Turning from Tsunomon, Tidus saw that Bandit was going crazy with his fist and finally taking his own fish he took his first bite.

Later on that night, each of the wanderers took their turn falling asleep. Tidus was the last to pass out, but just as he did, he could have sworn that he saw a face in the darkness looking out onto them.

Tidus awoke with a start that night. A dream about him and his brother had caused the violent waking. They had been traveling through Digiworld together and suddenly, Xander had Digivolved, turning into the giant bear that had attempted to take his life earlier on that day. Striking out, that?s when the human awoke. There was much more to the dream, but he just couldn?t remember what it was, standing up and stretching, Tidus realized that it was nearly sunrise. Waking Tsunomon and Bandit, the trio packed up their supplies and made for the north, taking a path next to the river. The digimon knew that something was up.

?Do you want to talk about it?? Asked Tsunomon.

Tidus looked for anything to tell him about, for he wanted to keep the dreams just that, dreams. Shaking his head, a thought finally came through his mind. That face, was it real, or was it just his nerves getting to him?

?I saw a face last night, just as I was falling asleep, looking like a womans face, but it was difficult to tell.? Spoke Tidus, explaining it to his comrades.

Bandit didn?t seem to care about most of what Tidus was saying and Tsunomon was just at a loss. The trio continued to walk in silence for a bit, thinking on their own thoughts, hoping that they were going the right direction. Just up ahead, the river ended. Looking around for another land mark to follow, it was useless, there was nothing left in sight. Suddenly, Bandit began to walk off to the right. Deciding that his guess was just as good as any of the others, they followed. Tsunomon quickly freaked out as an owl made a noise high in the trees.

?Hehe.? Laughed Tsunomon nervously. ?I know where we are now. If we continue in this direction, we?ll leave Server and enter the cross between Server and File Island. It?s a dangerous place that Cross and all. Maybe we should just keep going north, or maybe even south. Trust me when I say that nothing good has ever come from Cross.?

Tidus had a feeling that Tsunomon wasn?t lying, but at the same time, a gut feeling was telling him to continue in this direction, so they did. Moving a bit quicker now, they were almost at a run, making their way quicker and quicker through the thick forest, until a break in the trees. Tidus looked out onto the large field and saw what looked like some sort of small structure in the distance.

This plane was very similar to the one where they had found Bandit, the sunlight once again had the temperature raising dramatically, though it wasn?t as bad as before. They took only one step out onto the grass and suddenly a large gust of wind blew out from no where, giving a foreboding sense of evil. Tidus shivered, Bandit got low and started growling, and Tsunomon did what he does best, flew in circles screaming about the ?end of days?. Grabbing a hold of the Digimon and stroking the wolf, Tidus looked over the seemingly never ending field.

?It?s probably best if we make haste.? Instructed the human. ?When we get to that shelter, we?ll rest and choose our next course of action, understood.?

Looking down at Bandit, the wolf nearly gave a nod and Tsunomon bucked up.

?Go.?

The trio bound into the field and instantly the wind began screaming into Tidus? ears, deafening him from the rest of the world. Tsunomon was falling behind, but just barely, and Bandit was already way ahead of the group. A smile spread across the humans face as they approached the structure quicker and quicker, and it began to look taller and taller. Reaching that ?top? of a hill, Tidus came to a halt just as Bandit had. Looking out over the hill top, they had found the city of Cross.

Suddenly, Tsunomon blew past them, screaming like a maniac, eyes closed.

?Tsunomon!? Cried out Tidus.

Finally, the digimon opened his eyes and turned, floating flushed back with the group.

?It?s a city.? Spoke Tidus excitedly. ?A very small city, more like a town really. Let?s go.?

The trio made their way down into the city, unaware of the dangers that may lay ahead.

Tidus was more excited than the other two, for his own obvious reasons. It was a lot like home, smaller, and less poluted, but a lot like it. There weren't many vehicles, though there were a few, but more perculiarly, there was no people. Glancing around the ghost town, Tidus' hopes suddenly began to waver.

Looking in every window as they passed through the city, they saw clothing, bars, even food, just no people. Tapping on one of the windows from outside, Tidus cupped his hands over his eyes and looked in. There were lots and lots of cakes, pies, and candy, yet no one behind the counter. This was all so very strange.

Bandit had turned off and walked down an alley way, finding some boxes. Tugging on them, the wolf made a make shift bed out of them and decided he needed a quick rest. Tidus turned the corner and saw this, causing him to laugh, but it was broken quickly as the sound of squeling tires came bellowing out from the middle of the road, a little ways away.

Tsunomon and Tidus bolted for the street, that's when it happened. Just as Tidus made his first step onto the cement road, the vehicle made a sharp turn, aimed directly at him! Bandit jumped to his feet and went to make a rescue attempted, but the human boy ducked just as the wolf went to knock him out of the road. Tidus was down on the ground, and the big car was only feet away. Trying to scramble to his feet, Tsusnomon made a desperate decision, one that saved the boys life.

Throwing himself in a leap of faith, Tsunomon quickly digi-volved into Elecmon and hit Tidus head first into the ribs. The boy was thrown clear across the street and out of harms way. Elecmon however, wasn't so fortunite. The big truck struke the Digimon head on, sending him crashing up and over the vehicle, which continued to barrel down the road, seemingly unstoppable. Unaware of what had happened, Tidus stood up, ready to thank Elecmon, but was silenced by the sight of the downed Digimon. Running up to the little Rookie, Tidus picked him up carefully and began to yell.

"Someone, anyone, help me!" cried out the boy, in obvious distain for his friend.

Bandit began to howl, but it help only to create unheard noise.

Rushing down the street Tidus found a nearby drug store, the doors of course were locked. Tossing a rock through the window, the boy raced in, found some bandages and anti-disinfectants and raced back to Elecmon. HOping that it wasn't too late, Tidus bandaged up the Digimon who gave his fist signs of life. Smiling and nearly in tears, Tidus nodded at the little creature, who then passed out.

Suddenly waking from a terrible dream, Tidus sat upright, looking over at his two friends. Bandit was just sitting there, looking board, but Tsunomon was dancing and singing some tune. Amazed by his Digimon?s quick recovery, the human stood up and brushed the dirt off of his clothes. As Tidus stood up, Bandit finally came to life, jumping up and moving around, stretching his legs. It was time that the trio continued their journey, but the wonder of who was driving that vehicle was fresh on their minds.

?To File Island...? Spoke Tidus as he looked over a small brochure that he was going to attempted to use on Tsunomon?s wounds. ?Hey. Is there any chance that Xander may be here??

Tidus was pointing to the map and Tsunomon took a good look and nearly fainted.

?Let?s go, please, let?s go to File Island!? Shrieked the Digimon. ?I?ve never been their, please! Your brother may be there!?

Tidus smiled.

?Then we?re going to File Island.?

- - - - - - - -

Their journey had taken the trio far and this was no different. Having reached a beach far from the village where the car had nearly killed them, Tidus fell on his back.

?Man.? Cried out Tsunomon. ?Now we need a boat! What a rip off!?

Tidus chuckled.

?We could always swim.?

Glancing to their immediate left, Tidus noticed a small boat. It looked as though it could possibly hold all three of them, though it wasn't really in the best of shape. Though old and raggid, it was still floating, that's all that mattered to the human. Pushing it further into the water the trio took turned getting into the flotation devise, nearly tipping it in the process.

"Well, the sky looks clear, so it should help make for smooth sailing." offered Tidus as he noticed Bandit a bit on the uneasy side. Tsunomon on the other hand, was loving every second of it. Hooping and hallering, the Digimon made leaps all over the vessel. Nearly knocking Tidus off the boat, the mini being decided to take it easy for a bit. Landing next to the human, the Digimon still looked overly excited.

Smiling, the trio began their cruise to File Island, little did they know of the dangers that awaited them in the waters.
