Deaf people
#1
Maybe I'm just an asshole, but I felt a need to share with you one of the many reasons I hate deaf people. This is taken from a journal entry, so it might not make total sense in context, but I think you can follow.

I went to a Carlos Mencia show last night, and they started causing problems with us yet again. We were sitting up in the rafters, and we saw a bunch of empty seats up in the front 3 rows. Easily 10-15 seats available for people to sit in, but when we made our way down there, we were told to go back up. The reason, you may ask? Because they were reserved for the deaf people so they could see the interpreter. Ok, that'd be fine, if they weren't also writing what the comedians were saying in gigantic letters up on the backboard for everyone to see! I say pick one or the other. We got down there, and when they told us to go back up, I started getting into an argument with one of the deaf girls, telling to me to go back up to my seat. The worst part about this was we were actually having the argument, meaning she could obviously tell what I was saying... meaning: SHE DIDN'T NEED TO SIT IN THE FUCKING FIRST ROW! Now whatever, I was going to let it go, but I was getting more and more aggravated throughout the show looking at the seats that were still completely empty that we could have sat in. Yeah, that's right, a 2 hour show, the seats were NEVER FILLED. Now I really am curious why we couldn't sit there, and it's just another addition to the list of reasons I really fucking hate the NTID.

I hate it when people feel like they deserve special treatment.

They say they just want "equality" but they mean they want everyone to come to their every beck and call.

Mencia did a joke about it too, and I thought it related rather well. He was saying that a person in a wheelchair was being put on the Batman ride before him at six flags, and he kicked him in the wheelchair and he went flying down the hill because he had already been waiting 4 hours.

It's usually people who are 'normal' who give them that feeling.

Dain Cook > Carlos Mencia

Wanted to make that official. Anyway, equality comes in many flavors. My two uncles have lived with my bed ridden, eighty-odd year old grandmother since they were born which has pasted a burden onto my mother because of the bills that they refuse to pay. Because them leaving depends souly upon my grandmother's (owner of the land) wishes, they stay and feed off us thinking fully that they should be treated fairly by us.

My uncles suffer from severe case of retardation, practically same thing as deaf people less the fact that deaf people have, in the least, common sense. But it's the same matter. Big difference between being "equal" and demanding everyone to be on their hands and knees for you.

Dane Cook is better, by far... and I saw him last year at my school too.

Anyways... here's more reason to hate deaf people:

They get free side kicks (the cell phones with instant messaging built in) - you might be saying they should because how else are they going to communicate... but why can't we get free cell phones then? How else are WE going to communicate?

They get first choice in ANY class in my college, meaning if they pick first, the rest of the students get secondary treatment. They also get free interpreters for all of the classes. The only part about that that pisses me off is that I wanted to take a deaf class and request an interpreter, but that wasn't allowed!

I could be wrong, but I hear rumors that my school gives them a large discount on ipods because they like the bass the headphones give off.

How are those reasons to hate deaf people? Those sound more like reasons to hate administration, yo.

deaf people, administration... what's the difference?

For whatever reason, no one is doing anythign to change it.

Edit: mainly getting into the fight with the deaf girl telling me I couldn't sit there even when she was only "hard of hearing" was enough reason for me.

Then why don't you change it instead of complaining about it?

I hate people who give the handicapped special attention. I'm willing to bet most of them don't want it. If I were deaf/blinded/crippled I'd just want people to leave me the fuck alone, not pamper me as if I were missing all my arms and legs and had the IQ of a rock.

You think I haven't tried?

I have made many many many complaints, and they just act like they didn't hear them, pun intended.

Edit: And I'm certainly not the only one. We've formed a half-assed organization about it.

Yes but then you're picking on the deaf people, and you're ganging up on a minority, so you might as well impregnate your mother. You'll get about the same result.

Ew... I don't like the idea of that.

People like me more than you.

But to the point - I think it's shitty that people who are disabled are treated better than the common person. Sure give them things so they are EQUALS, don't put them above us though.

Herpes is not what I'd call a benefit.
