Day Two: Early Morning
#1
Day Two
Midnight - 6:00 AM

"Wake up from your naps, my warriors...just a for moment. I promise I won't be long.

A rather uneventful six hours, aside from a minor scuffle between groups. But that's okay, you all deserved your break...

But the break is over. Get back to work.

The new danger zones are...

B-4
C-1
C-7
J-6
J-7

That's it! The groups have become a bit annoying, so I've made some more danger zones to keep you moving.

I know you all have your little friends...or brothers...or lovers...with you. But when it comes down to win or lose, life or death...are you willing to take a back seat?

Good luck."

Karl set the megaphone down. He grinned as he switched the camera to some of his key targets. Surely, his speech would rile some form of midguided thoughts...and that was his goal the whole time.

"Give me a look at that," Trunks told Garlic Junior, who had a makeshift bandage wrapped around his leg wound. The halfling removed the strip of fabric, looking at the nasty cut the destructo disk shaved into him.

"Hold on." Trunks grabbed his bag and withdrew the 'weapon' the Syntex Corporation supplied him with. The Xtra Large Medical Kit was just that. It took up a fair space of the bag, but it held a lot of surgical and healing tools that would last at least a few sutures before the supplies were gone.

"OK, now hold still," Trunks told the Makyo-jin as he began on his wound. In a few minutes, Trunks wrapped the bandage around the stitches. "OK, it should be better now. Just don't put a lot of pressure on it." Trunks closed the kit and threw it back in the bag. "Let's all try to get some sleep."

------------------------------------

"Ah, finally, morning," Trunks mentioned, awaking the rest of his alliance. They had taken refuge for a while within the barn, gaining some valuable sleep during the night. Kami and Garlic Junior stirred from their sleep, but the two androids were already up. Androids, Trunks remembered from the scientific journals, needed little to no sleep to function.

"It's been pretty quiet," Thirteen commented. "Everyone else must've been asleep as well."

Trunks dug into his backpack and took off his scouter, throwing it in. As he did, he spotted the water and rations of food. Right then, his stomach rumbled, and his throat relayed to his brain its dryness. In no time at all, the halfling consumed one day's worth of his food and chugged half the bottle of water. He wanted more, but he had to hold onto it. Who knows how long he would be alive?

Suddenly, Seventeen spotted a shadowed figure in the distance. "Hey, someone's coming up!" The entire group shook off their grogginess and sprung to their feet, preparing themselves for a possible fight. Trunks grabbed his ki rifle and knelt down, aiming at the approaching being.

He walked within visual range of the group, and Trunks lowered his weapon. "... Goten?"

"Trunks!?" the startled hybrid responded.

EDIT: It's revealed: Trunks has the Xtra Large Medical Kit.

Sadly, it was just like him to fall asleep. Just like the wind, words said were hardly said at all. It was a few more moments past before she reluctantly left his side, though he?d be too deep to notice. She could only shake her head at him and wander a few feet away. Sometimes she just wanted to talk, but there was never anyone else. Even as she bumped into Bardock, and tried to be as friendly as she was able, it didn?t feel?like she wanted it too. The amusing encounter ended with him huffing off and her hands grasping a plushy teddy bear. It was fitting. Little did he know, it was something she needed.

The moon fell steadily, people?s voices softened, and the night life hummed around her. The android did find a place to rest. It was a suitable spot, one that was laden with fresh grass and a tree for shelter. She rested against the tree, feeling its bark against her backside. Her eyelids closed and her body curled. How many others were doing this very thing? Letting the night air lull them to sleep, hoping for a good day, for a victory? She doubted there were many, and likely those who were not so weak were sleeping with one eye open. She clutched the stuffed bear to her chest, her knees were drawn, and her eyes glistened in the moonlight. Even the whispering leaves could not block out that eerie light above. Even if it was not Earth-Sei?s moon, it was similar to it. This place was not so different. The android buried her face in the bear?s furry coat and felt a heaving sensation in her chest, one that could be easily describe as an emotional ripping at her heart. Overly dramatic as always, she couldn?t help but weep a little.

Eighteen was graced with a few hours of sleep. It was good enough; she had hardly done much the day before. She was awoken by the host-man?s voice, his irritating voice ringing words of truth. Deep down inside she knew she?d have to fight both friend and foe alike. What would happen between Raditzu and herself? Perhaps it was a fight that was a long time coming. God knew she had a lot of pent up frustrations she needed to unleash upon him. A pitiful sigh escaped her lips. There was no use, in the end, he would never change. She had fallen for him for a reason, and she would never want him to change, even if his lethargic attitude got to her on more than one occasion.

The brothers sloth were awakened by a announcement by the ever annoying Karl Jak, announcing his thoughts on the last six hours and the new danger zones they were adding to the game. Minoshia and Tapion decided it would be a good time to move, after they had heard the announcements.

The pair dug up their belongings and threw it all into their respective satchels, tretching back through the slippery sand and making their way into the woods, following the overgrown path wherever it led. This morning was less crisp then the last, the air felt rather stale on the tounges of the warriors, lethargically moving as if in a trance, still waking up. The younger reached down and grabbed the small pouch he had been keeping his water in, tilting it to his lips and swigging down a few gulps. The water was fresh from the body they had just refilled from, feeling like a burst of energy rolling down the esophogas, the slothness was vanqished from their eyes.

"Tapion." The older brother looked down at his sibling, answering his call with a simple nod. "Breakfast?" Minoshia offered him a peice of his bread he had begun to tear into rations.

"Nah, I got my own." Tapion pulled out a small, pre-torn secton of grain from his bag and began to munch on it. He gave his brother a questioning look, as Minoshia dug through his bag again, grumbling about not being able to find some 'blasted fuckin thing'.

The prince of darkness turned to his older brother and unleashed a smile that could kill a man, and as if an answer to this happiness, he pulled out a chunk of the meat they had taken off their fishes last night. The small chunk was added to the bread, in a sandwich manner, and shoved into the mouth of the Konat. His small cheeks exploded as the tyke filled his mouth, rubbing his stomach as he swallowed the delicious mess. They both chuckled as they continued to walk, again satisfying their hunger as they moved to safer grounds.

Seventeen didn?t know how long he drifted in and out of the delirium, and the only sensations he could vaguely remember were a few foul tastes fighting their way down his esophagus and a couple new splashes of pain from his abdominal region. A few times, the machine-hybrid heard his surviving alliance brothers bicker, but none of the spats came to any fruition?luckily. Even in his depleted state of awareness the android could deduce that tensions were running high. Fortuitously for all of them, they had managed to settle down for a while. Whoever said that a fire was the best way to calm people in a bad situation had been at least partially right. Although his mind was still reeling, Seventeen was starting to feel some of the pain subside into numbness. Even if he was still grievously wounded, he knew he would have to shake of the agony and keep fighting. He owed that much to not only his fallen brothers but to his surviving comrades as well.

?Welcome back to the world,? Super Buu said the moment he noticed the fallen cyborg open his eyes. For the first time in several hours, the cybernetic warrior could actually see and hear unimpaired. Seventeen gazed up, past the sparse forest canopy, at the black sky that loomed overhead. Somewhere in the distance he was sure he heard a voice decree that another day had begun. Based on the position of the moon, the android assumed that it was probably rather early in the morning. Slowly and rather painfully, the cybernetic warrior managed to combat the pain from his wound and make it into an upright position. Unfortunately, he soon realized that by sitting down he was applying unneeded pressure to the shotgun wound that had so effectively eviscerated his abdominal region.

Clenching his teeth together, the android slowly pushed off the cold dirt beneath him until he was standing fully erect; however, the short, personal victory was cut short when Seventeen?s legs began to wobble like wet noodles. After but a brief moment of standing on his own, the android began to teeter, and then he started falling backwards. Super Buu, who had been watching from a few feet away, scrambled forward, catching the cyborg a few inches from a painful meeting with the earth. Even after the bubblegum-colored warrior placed his softly on the ground, the machine-hybrid refused to lie down and give up. Gathering up his depleted strength, he fought up to his knees and crawled over to the pile of bags and weapons his group had been toting around with them. Reaching out, Seventeen wrapped his blood-encrusted fingernails around the length of his rocket launcher.

?Human?s and their inability to recognize their own inferiority,? Super Buu grumbled, perhaps trying to lighten the mood with some sarcastic wit. Then again, in a situation like this, it wouldn?t be too hard to imagine that the magical golem was being completely serious. Ignoring the condescending words of his sardonic ally, the android, using the bulky weapon as an impromptu can, reclaimed a vertical position. Leaning heavily on the firearm, the cyborg started away from the campfire. ?Where do you think you are going?? Super Buu questioned, turning his head away from the fire long enough to question the mental workings of his injured friend. Seventeen let out a labored sigh as he turned back toward the sitting warrior.

?I just need to catch some fresh air,? the android said. ?This fire is a tad uncomfortably for my likes.? Just when he was about to skedaddle off, the machine-hybrid was stopped when a slender hand fell on his shoulder.

?Stay where we can see you, all right?? Violet asked, obviously worried about someone with a diminished mental state like Seventeen wandering off into the wilderness with a wound of such magnitude.

?I?m fine, really,? the cyborg muttered. ?The wound is still there, and it still hurts like a bitch, but all I can feel is an immense numbness from that region of my body,? Violet?s hand fell from Seventeen?s shoulder and she returned to whatever she had been keeping herself busy with the last few minutes. Meanwhile, the android took a few more steps before he leaned against a firm tree. Now gripping the trigger of the rocket launcher firmly, the wounded warrior stared through the dense forest. Despite an obvious lack of sleep and taking a slug of energy pellets to the gut, he felt well enough to serve an actual purpose. There was no chance in hell that Seventeen was going to let down his surviving friends.

No one died during the night. Upon the stroke of midnight, the voice of their host marked the end of the first day. Many didn?t survive. But Bardock had. He thoughtlessly checked off the latest danger zones on his map. Two landmarks had now been officially warranted as no trespassing. The saiyan suspected the areas lighting up would drive people closer to each other, like farmers herding in their flock. It was an ironic comparison: a good portion of the participants was nothing but animals, anyway.

Bardock scoffed at Karl?s parting words. The flamboyant director was no better than Brim. The saiya-jin was a winner until he became a loser, and he wasn?t going down. Not this time. He lived by his fist. He glanced around the camp, the fire burning dangerously low. Everyone was surrounded by people, and yet they all stood alone. He was no different. Yet there it was again in the farthest reaches of his essence; that faint glow that had slowly been fostering within the deep crevices of his brain: being in the company of others, maybe wasn?t so bad after all. Bardock sighed. This was the last place to be thinking about this. His head needed to be in the game. With that, the fighter rolled off the side of his branch, landing in a crouch. The ki shotgun had a strap, and the brawler slung the gun over his shoulder. Faint embers crackled in a hungry cry. Bar stoked the fire, adding more wood. They would need to move out soon, but rest was important. There was no need to rush at the very moment

Bardock?s eyes darted from person to person. They were all either waking up, or moving around silently. He concluded that anyone else on the godforsaken island had been resting as well, and no encounters would be quick to come about. Hence, his watch duty was over for the moment. He strolled over to where Bra was positioned and dropped like a stone, drawing his knees up casually and resting his elbows on them. Once, not so long ago, he would have called her ?kid,? as he dubbed all children, but this no longer seemed appropriate. He spat off to the side, sniffing. His eyes were not on her, but on the trail of devastation she had created in her tantrum. That sort of power was remarkable, but misplaced. No one could afford to lose focus.

?You?ll be fine, Princess.?

With the darkness of night time hovering over the fighters, the area seemed to be clam giving the Saiya-jin time to think to herself and recollect the past several hours and the events that had come to pass. Not long ago did she meet up with her lost partner in the Master of Assassin?, Gohan. He was surprised to see her once when he thought she had died long ago, but then Saiya-jins never do lie that easily.

However fate this time didn?t seem to be that fair to Gohan as in the last battle to take place upon the battle field of the planet resulted with his life. Yet did he never go without a real fight, a true warrior in his blood for all times.

Now was the aftermath to come, she could hear the pain of one of their fellow comrades as she thought to herself. Making her way up now and to the sounds that echoed in her ear did her eyes fall over all the members in the group. She knew most but was not in the talking frame of mind, she needed to keep an eye on things. Most where drained from the last battle and she was still ready to go at a moments notice.

However the night seemed to be nothing to bad for all the members, most had gotten sleep. Selipa however never fully able to close her eyes and enter a dream state. She knew that she had a healing kit to help one of their group members. But she could not help but over think what to do with it, the human that needed her help was weak and would die soon even after being healed. She could only heal three injuries, would this be one.

Walking over to the mutant and the injured female, Selipa glared down at both the figures. Thinking back to the hellfighter machine she asked?

?How much do you wish her to live. She is weak, she is human and will not live long in this tournament.?

Her words where cold and without a hearts care just as the suns lights began to rise for a new day.

?I can help you. Simply ask and realize if this is what you truly desire at the costs of anything else then for you I?ll heal her. Merely ask Yamu.? Moved her soft lips. As she looked into the rays of sunlight to flood the morning sky.

OOC: Yamu you can use my kit if you wish, just role-play it

Was he a killer? A foul wrestched beingthat killed foul nothing more then the joy of it? No. He couldn't be! This was nothing but a fucking game! Only the most strategic could win! And that was the green machine! Retane was the fucking underdog of the show but he had made himself a mark!

His mark belongs to his cards! Hi heart poured into them! They were his cards of destiny! He stayed back. Out of the two's reunion. He noted the new ones figure from the begining but turned to his cards. He couldn't stay just yet! He felt a heavy burden on himself. He allowed his deck to choose his movement. He had hurt a companion in the mix!

Angered with himself he saw no need to continue the alliance! His companion was with a trusted soul now! He would allow them to have their joy. He hoped his words stuck and drew his cards.

He drew four cards once again. The Jack of hearts King of hearts Ace ofhearts and the 9 of hearts of were drew. His dstioantin was drew. But he pondered how all were the same set! He set off in the distance quickly without being seen. Tjough he left his bread near a tree so they could find it.

He was to figh! It must be it! The mercenary reverted to that instinct! He smelt a victim! His blood pumped! His arm and burns vibrated! He was alived! He wanted to end one! He wasn't a coward! He would kill this night! jHe would allow his slaughter to be kown! He wasnb't a feared hunter.. but he would be.... His Deck of Destiny read so....

Face to Face

Olibu and Retane

Olibu walked towards his bag after his walk, mainly to idly look for something to drink. He was still having trouble sleeping, so he figured taking a walk would perhaps help him tire out. But of course, even if he fall asleep...the nightmares would keep coming back him. Haunting him.

Even earlier, the blonde warrior had awoken to find himself in tears, on his knees, hearing voices. A shameful position. But the island, and the game, and the already horrible memories were getting to him.

What a crybaby. Such a loser.

Olibu whirled around. He knew the voice, but not the location. "Bulma?" He stepped forward, in between two trees. "Is that you?"

You're pathetic. Couldn't even protect me right.

He shook his head, closing his eyes. "Get out of my head, Bulma. It's just my mind, playing tricks."

Sure, if telling yourself that makes you feel better.

"Shut up! It's just my mind!" The normally strong warrior punched the tree with all his might, causing it to shake. "You are NOT Bulma!"

"Bulma's dead!" Someone shouted. This one was much clearer and closer. "And you will be too!" Olibu spun around again, this time to face a real live creature. A namek dove onto him, forcing them both to the ground.

Olibu remembered, vaguely. The two hasn't had much of a meeting. They had bumped into each other during the pre-show, and had a very small conversation, introducting themselves and then going on their way. It was ironic that now they were facing off.

"Retane!?" Olibu forced out in surprise. He was interupted by a green fist hitting his jaw.

The namekian rolled on top of Olibu, pinning him down. He brought a fist up, and smacked it into the man's jaw again. Again. Again. "So did ya see her, Olibu?" Retane grunted as he abused the man's jaw. "Did ya watch her die? Tell me about it!"

"Fuck you!" The angered human grunted. He brought a foot up and shoved it into the gut of Retane, forcing him back. The namekian dropped back onto his feet, stumbling into a tree.

"Feisty!" Shouted the namek. Olibu rolled back onto his side as Retane dove forward. "Good!"

The golden-topped fighter grabbed the fist coming at him. "What is wrong with you?!" Olibu growled, "This is what happens when you let the game take control! Fight it, Retane! You've turned into an animal!"

He was interupted again by Retane's fist, the opposite one, slamming into his cheek. "You have no idea what I've done!" The namek roared. He threw two punchs at the man's chest, like a boxer. "I didn't come here to camp, you fool! I came here to win!" He kicked Olibu in the stomach, causing him to bend, and then slammed his knee into the man's face. Olibu flew onto his back. "Get up! I'm not done! You're more fun then Nappa was."

Olibu rolled over. He was hurting, bad. His face was smashed up and he was covered in blood. The man, moved up to one knee, looking over. "You killed Nappa?"

"It was his own fault, but believing that I cared," Retane said in a low, serious voice.

The blonde shook his head. "You've...changed yourself." He let a finger push the red button in the middle of the battle charger.

"I told you, Olibu!" Retane shot forward, running full speed. He pushed a card out, raising it up. "I'm playing to win!"

Everything stopped. Olibu's hand caught Retane's arm just as it was making it's flight down to kill him. He saw the card: Nine of Hearts. "What's the point in winning, Retane," Olibu questioned, "If you have to turn into a monster in the process?"

He suddenly brought the arm back, and wailed it forward. With the battle charger giving it the boost, it sent a shockwave across the air that sprawled Retane backwards like a rocket. He hit the tree, hard, and then fell onto his knees.

Olibu picked up an object by his back and moved forward.

Retane was looking at the card in his hands. The Nine of Hearts still had the blood of Nappa on it. Was this fate, he would be holding this card?

"This is for Nappa," Olibu told him. He brought his foot back, and then up to kick the man with a painful thud in the stomach. "And this is for Bulma!" The blonde brought a fist up, uppercutting the namek, who fell back. He stood up, trying to shake off the hits. But Olibu was almost twice as strong as he was before.

Olibu shoved Retane to the side, on the ground. He held up the item he had taken from Bulma. The baseball cap.

"And this," he said simply. "This is just for me."

He flicked his wrist, and the hat spun in the air like a frisbee, then slammed into the green forehead. Retane paused a moment when he realized what happened. Then he fell back, the air around him fading.

He looked to the side. In his hard was the card he had gutted Nappa with. Fate...?

When Retane stopped breathing, Olibu causually took the hat back. "I'm sorry," he said aloud. "I'm sorry you had to go like this. You were too gone. Too into the game."

Olibu grabbed Retane's bag, and the supplies he wanted, before heading off. He had learned something that night, against the namek.

The island would throw many things his way. Many people who would try to kill him. But the biggest obstacle to overcome, was the fear and doubt that his own mind would try to plant. No longer would Olibu fall victim to himself.

"This one's for you, Bulma."

Olibu's got a really smashed up face, bleeding and bruised. Only a story wound though, won't affect anything.

The deck of cards are there if Olibu wants them.

"Holy Shit!" Tapion yelped and jumped backwards, extending his arm out to the side to block his brother from advancing forward. The younger lifted his head up from the satchel that he was digging around in and looked at the thing lying in front of them. It looked like a overgrown dead racoon, its corpse being mauled by a army of red ants. The beast had been torn open at the side, long ago, for it's body was amidst decay and it was pretty far along before the ants came to speed it up a bit.

Dead bodies. Yummy. Minoshia jumped backwards himself, it had been a while since that voice had made a prescense, and the Konat had been enjoying the relax from worrying about constant killing. Instead of arguing back, he simply ignored it, instead of fueling it further. A drilling sensation materialized on his forehead, digging a painful sensation deep into his mind. The prince fell to one knee, grasping his forward. No...

His eyes burned a deep red as he rose again to his feet, the exterior portion of his iris quickly deepening into a black. His brother stayed behind him, not knowing what to do. He charged forward, grabbing the animal cadaver into the air and hurling it skyward, launching a needle of energy after it. The bolt peirced it's stomach and tore it to peices, the carnage and the blood shed raining down in the trees around the area.

Minoshia continued, steaming off into the woods, looking for another beast to slay. The dormant build up of his lust had caused an irrational explosion of anger. Luckily, they weren't near any other contestants, especially the more powerful ones, he had at least managed to pick a time to unleash this 'inner beast' where it wouldn't get them in trouble.

Tapion took after him, bolting into the woods. "Minoshia!" He screamed his brother's name, escaping off into the trees. His path was easy to follow, broken trees, burnt paths, dead animals. Birds had fallen to the ground fried, wild hogs and peaceful deer alike. There must have been a dozen dead animals fallen along the path, and it was easy to find Minoshia where he had stopped.

A source of energy was picked up on the older Konat's scouter, and before he could recognize it as Minoshia's, he saw his brother. Curled up in a ball under a large bush, a tear running out of his black eye, his body trembling with fear. Under the mask of hatred and rage, there lied a little scared boy, taking out all his shortfalls and miscomings on the lives of others. A depressed, neglected boy who witnessed the slaughter of his family and the isolation from his brother at a age no older then a elementary school student. He was just a fragile child, stuck in a body much too old and wise for the development of his mind, which was no longer under any rational control. Tapion ran and and grasped his brother, holding on to him.

The Prince of Darkness

Later that night...

Endless stars, pitch black night; silence had again returned to the forest on this side of midnight, only disturbed by the occasional sputtering of the fire as it desperately tried to fan itself back into a blaze. Kid Buu nudged one of the rocks surrounding the campfire with his foot - his only foot - and softly sighed. As the fire died, the ruddy light slowly diminished. Good, he thought. It had been crazy to start a fire in the first place, never mind to let it last so long. In their state they could not afford to make those kinds of mistakes. It was too risky.

Inside Buu's mind, two sides were warring for dominance, two endless snakes that devoured each other's tails. One tried to accept his new weaknesses, the fear, and the other struggled to return to the way he was before, because for now he was tamed. Or was he? Didn't his new abilities and perceptions give him the power to do whatever he wanted? Hell, if he really wanted to he could probably wine and dine his alliance's plum-haired, token woman, and be reasonably sure that he would be making her breakfast the next morning, too. Without Dunhan, he was near powerless to express himself, not quite like a newborn, but close enough.

But did anyone need to express themselves when they could take whatever they wanted? The question preoccupied his mind as he looked down at Violet's slumbering form. For a human woman, he had to admit that she really was a beauty, quite worthy of the flower that was her namesake. She had taken the first watch, and he was taking the second, and she was in a deep sleep, unaware of the majin's appraising eyes. Her pale skin caught the light of the flames, painting her a faintly exotic, dancing color of yellow and orange. Her lips were slightly parted. She was unaware.

The gun felt good in Buu's hand. It felt like taking control. He was a majin, and she was a human. She would never be able to survive what was to come. She would suffer. What he did would be a mercy.

He steadied himself with his lower set of arms as he lowered the gun against the woman's temple.

She was unaware.

He pulled the trigger.

Quote:The corroded metal cell that he had been thrown into was small. Perhaps two meters in height, width and depth, it was one of many that Buu had seen as he was dragged down the hall, before being thrown into the dark recesses of nameless, numberless confinement. That day had been like many others, full of nothing but a few scraps of food shoved through a tantalizing slit of light for a mere moment. Buu could have dissolved and slipped through it. He didn't. He had ceased to care about anything since being sucked into that dark, ragged hole in the universe; before he had been left drifting in space for what felt like an eternity.

He heard the shuffling of shaggy feet in the hall outside. One of those nightmare-riding apes was coming - his jail master, no doubt, dragging with him the burdensome weight of a few more scraps of food for someone other than himself. Buu didn't need the food, he had been henkaing the debris in his cell into legs of mutton for weeks, but he made no effort to correct their routine. The scraps were disgusting, but the look of anguish on the face of the Red Stallion as he fed the food into his cell made the meal sweet.

The lock of his cell slid aside with a heavy, tortuous
click. The door slowly swung open, blasting his eyes with light from beyond. He snarled, shielded his eyes, spat like a snake, and screamed cuss words in his mind that he couldn't give voice as the dimly perceived silhouette of a man glided into the doorway and filled the portal.

"Hello, child." A voice, dimly perceived, seemed to come from the shape, although Buu had trouble pinning it down. "My name is Vapor, the leader of the Red Stallions.

"I must confess that I'm surprised to see that you are still alive. Any ordinary creature would be dead having floated in space for as long as you did, not to mention stomaching our cooking. I've had it looked into as to what you are, but nothing has come up. You are nothing, and should not exist." The figure stepped into the cell and kneeled to avoid smacking his head against the ceiling. "And yet here you are, alive for weeks in one of our cells without so much as a whimper. That's when I realized what you were.

"A survivor, just like the rest of us. Nowhere to call home, no one to call your own." The majin's eyes glared up at him and his crimson irises flashed, but he had told all the leader needed to know with that one look. Damaged. "So, why not join us? I promise you nothing, give you nothing, but the ability to take what you want whenever you need it, to spit in the face of those who abandoned you to that cold Hell. To enjoy the spoils of victory."

As if reading Buu's mind, Vapor lowered his head slightly and said, "After all...

"There's nowhere else for you to go."

~+~+~+~+~

The fire coughed and sent up a fresh wave of cinders into the air. They vanished like short-lived fireflies into the darkness, snuffed out by the cold, unforgiving air. The logs gave a final feeble retch before collapsing, buryinf the snubbed flame beneath their weight and collapsing the camp into darkness once again.

The gun's electronic display shone quietly, blue luminous letters glowing against the black.

Please disengage the safety before firing!

Buu slowly eased up the pressure on the trigger and lifted the gun away from Violet's head. He was shaking, shaking! He turned around and, using his stretched lower arms as improvised legs, made his way back over to his seat on a log, the gun's display dancing aqua light across the face of his comrades, safe and sound in their slumber, with not a hair disturbed on their heads. For now.

In the silence, in the darkness, in the black, he continued his watch.

Garlic let himself be bandaged by Trunks without major complaint, a testament to his foul mood. Another fight come and gone without a single one of them dead. Each one of them were burned into his memory, sitting in that nice cushy room in his brain were the dead walking went to wait and be called on. Most especially that midget with his razor disk of ki. When his eyes closed for the night, sleep claimed him almost instantly. Tomorrow had better be an improvement. The dreams of violence and blood assured him like a soft lullaby? that it would.

His blood caked hand removed its self from Bujins mutilated intestines, and a throaty laugh followed the blue warrior?s corpse to the ground. Garlic?s delight was comparable to a child on Christmas, if a bit more macabre. The goblins shining eyes rotated around the barn floor, long since carpeted with gore, searching with blissful hope for one more. Just one more to strike off the list. Santa?s wish list had been whittled down indeed this Yuletide morning, but if only one more... especially him. Then on cue, as perfectly timed as if they practiced beforehand, he stood silhouetted in the doorway. Tapion. At his shoulder was another of his kind? shorter? a name floated to the top of his mind. Minoshia. Yes they had met once too. He was still alive? Well, not for long.

"Ah, finally, morning,? Trunks whispered from behind. And Garlic opened his eyes. Disappointment hit him in the gut, softened only by the hunger that already dwelled there. The miniature demon let his allies scurry around him in their morning routines without half a notice. Bread and water consumed his attention, but not more than his dreams, played out bitterly before his sleep crusted eyes.

?? someone is coming!? a voice yelled, maybe Seventeen?s, snapping him from his self-indulgence. Garlic was already on his feet striding with only the faintest hint of limp to the open barn door, but Trunks was in front aiming down his gun. Garlic almost saw the tension melt form the half saiyan?s shoulders. He muttered something he didn?t quite catch.

?Trunks!?? the figure called out. The voice was very? familiar.

The night was long, dreamless, and sleepless. Reijin finally stirred from his sleeping position on a rock, and glanced over at the two others sleeping nearby. Metal Koola was leaning against a tree while Vejita was actually sleeping in a tree on a branch. The Saiyan's cool eyes surveyed the land until his eyes finally locked onto the green form of his Saibaman chasing after a butterfly. "Don't you ever sleep?" he grumbled, knowing the creature probably had a rough time as did he.

His gloved hands pushed himself to his feet and he quickly whiped his hands against the others, knocking off a clump of dirt. After a moment of thinking, he decided that he needed to train this creature to assist them better in combat. Perhaps if the creature was chasing squirrels or...

Like some mystical trigger, Reijin once again found himself wanting to cough on a burst of magical scentless smoke around him. He reached a paw up to wipe his nose before... His eyes widened. Sniffing quickly at the scents around him, he spun around in a circle, seeing his tail behind him. He'd done it again, accidently changing into a squirrel. His first thought was to panic, but he knew that he was safe. He just need to find some hole to stuff his nuts into.

A tall dark shadow suddenly loomed over his form and his nose told him before his eyes even registered... It was Saiba. Immediately he took off, skittering like a lightning bolt with with the green creature on his tracks right behind him. Reijin knew what Saiba wanted... The creature was after his nuts! He would allow noone that right!

As if tracking something over sonar, he immediately found a small cluster of nuts and grabbed two of them into his mouth, darting off as soon as the shadow of the creature appeared. Saiba leapt, coming down directly where Reijin was, but he'd already darted off and Saiba struck dirt. Growling as he stood, his hand sparked a burst of energy and he lodged it at Reijin's retreating form.

Every hair on his squirrel body stood on end as he could simply hear the energy drone as it came closer. Panicking, he looked left then right. He decisively darted to the right the moment a clump of dirt was launched into the air from the shot. He immediately ran up the side of a tree and looked over the side of the branch. Saiba was below, sniffing the area beneath the tree hoping to track Reijin.

The squirrel back slowly down the branch, until he suddenly bumped into another creature that grunted. He spun around, and saw a Saiyan sleeping on the branch, snoring away. His footpadding softened each step as he slowly climbed onto the Saiyan's leg, walking up its body so as not to disturb him. He would find a place to stuff his nuts for safety, somewhere that Saiba would never find them.

He heard growling beneath the tree branch and knew that Saiba had found him. He didn't care. He'd allow another Ice Age to happen before anyone could take his nuts. climbing straight up the Saiyan's chest, he slowly approached the open snoring mouth. A slight droplet of drool was hanging over the edge, and the growls from the creatures mouth slowly filled the air. Reijin heard Saiba begin to claw his way up the side of the tree as well, and his blood began to rush.

Hurridly, he took his pair of nuts into both hands and looked around. Finally, he dropped both of his nuts into Vejita's mouth. The Saiyan immediately awoke, coughing wildly as he spun around in the branch before realizing that he was high above the ground. He choked, reaching into his mouth to remove the unwelcome busted nut from his mouth, hoping to open a passage for breath from deep within his throat.

Reijin immediately scurried down the end of the branch and leapt into the air, landing agily onto another branch to a different tree. Vejita sat up, finally grabbing at the nuts in his mouth long enough to begin cursing loudly, and turned to see a large green form slam into his face in midair, launching him straight off of the branch and into the air. He flailed wildly, attempting to fly, and finally landed on Metal Koola below him. Saiba was still plastered wildly to his face, looking around in the air with glee of having caught something.

Reijin immediately scurried down the tree and by simply recognizing the two of them, he immediately burst into a cloud of smoke once more, changing back into the raven haired man that he'd always been. He walked slowly towards the chaotic trio and scratched his head. "Just what the hell are you two doing? Or three?"

"Damn it! Why the hell did we wake up?" Piccolo Daimoun yelled in an angry tone. His voice fell on deaf ears as his three comrades were in a huddle together. It was unclear to him what was going on between them, but Blue's voice seemed very heated and excited...Probably in a bad way.

"?Koola, Piccolo, hold him down, make sure he can?t run. No that he?d get very far in this condition,? Bujin ordered, and the jade Namekian gave him an angry look before complying. He realized that he needed Blue to get along, but didn't like having to listen to someone else...

He wished he had the power to boss others around...

Giving a quiet snort as he knew such power was unattainable to him, he got on his knees and obeyed the 'king'. Getting on Blue's left side; he looked at the bloody gash in his stomach. It was bleeding rather heavily, so much that you could barely see any of the wound...The open hole was submerged in the sticky red juice of life.

Bujin was talking to Blue, getting him ready for his little procedure. He didn't know the technicalities of it, but he did know that the blue man would be blasting the wound with some searing hot Ki. Something like that sounded incredibly agonizing, and for some reason sticking a branch in his mouth was going to help.

The elder Namekian leaned in and started uttering something inaudible to the surrounding party members, "Do you want some air, to cool you down? The Jungle IS quite hot..."

Blue gave him a strange look, cocking an eyebrow and pushing his cheek out a little bit. The image that popped into his head was of Piccolo Daimoun, getting his face uncomfortably close to him and blowing on him.

Freaked out by the thought, he was about to shake his head no as a response. It was too late, but the slug like Alien did nothing of the sort to him. What he did do was push some air onto his face and wound using his technique over the winds. He knew that if he could keep the wound cool, it wouldn't hurt as much.

The red hot mystical force was pressed into his wound, and a loud bellow of pain was barely muffled by the wood that had been shoved into his mouth. Sounds of the tree piece cracking between his teeth could be heard, and splinters were falling out...

He found a root in the ground, and in the heat of the moment, ripped it straight out from underneath the dirt and grass. The small shard of fauna was all he held onto as the 'operation' came to a conclusion. The wound was very messily held together by his fused and melded skin.

"Poor guy," Piccolo Daimoun said quietly with sincere concern.

"He'll be fine by the 'morrow," Bujin said back.

"We don't have time like that in a game like this," Koola said back, "We could be attacked at any moment."

"We have no other choice," Bujin said defiantly, a determined look in his eyes. "If I have anything to say about this, we're gonna get through this game."

Piccolo Daimoun nodded in acknowledgement. Koola spoke up again, "Ya know, the next few days are gonna be a rough time in hell."

The jade Namekian let out a smile and chuckled to himself a bit before responding, "I've been to Hell. Not as bad as everyone here thinks."

What he got back was a couple strange and blank looks.

How easy it would be to just slit all their throats right now, to claim each of their heads as his trophy, to take a larger role in the game. He had been held back thus far and it didn?t look as if his power was going to be allowed to fully stretch. He was like a coiled snake, ready and waiting for the right moment to strike out and pump his poison into whomever crossed his path, but who would be brave enough to step into his line of sight, then again, maybe it wasn?t a question of who was brave enough, maybe it was more of ?who was stupid enough?.

Garlic Junior tossed in his sleep, rolling off of his injured leg. It was quite for now, as if the entire island had become a place of infinite stillness. A light breeze blew across the plains and rustled the tall grass. The distant sound of waves kept a surreal feeling in the air, this was definitely the quiet before the storm. The only question that remained was, who would be the first to strike? What new forbidden zones would be activated? How many people would die today?

After what had been hours, the fused Sayajin began to stir. Sitting up and rubbing his eyes, a soft yawn escaped his lips. Extending his arms into the air, he stretched, making quaint noises as he rolled over to his side and pushed himself to his feet. Yawning again, he turned to the two androids, Hellfighter Seventeen and Android Thirteen, both must have stayed awake throughout the entire night. Noticing the look on Trunks? face, the white haired humanoid took a step forward, it was time for a report.

"Ah, finally, morning," Trunks mentioned, awaking the rest of his alliance.

"It's been pretty quiet," Thirteen commented. "Everyone else must've been asleep as well."

Trunks only gave a slight nod, then he lifted his backpack of the ground and rummaged through it, finding food and devoured it within mere moments. Thirteen watched and wondered how Sayajin?s metabolisms worked, after all, they could eat to no end. Glancing down at his own sack, the droid wondered if he too should eat. The thought came and went, but the sudden voice of the other droid startled him.

Confused, Thirteen watched as this new stranger came looming out of the shadows and into the dim light from the barn. He was around the same height as Trunks and by the body structure, he too was part Sayajin, or full Sayajin, the android couldn?t get a full sense on anyone due to these damned collars.

The two halflings greated each other excitedly and Thirteen only shook his head. He couldn?t fully understand or appreciate human emotions anymore, something in him had changed when Trunks had crashed into him. He no longer felt part human, his dominant side had been reversed from human to machine, which meant one thing, less compassion. He no longer felt bound to the rules of silly love and hate, instead it was replaced with survival instincts. His CPU had somehow released the human control and it was now free to reign supreme within the machine-hybrid.

The last reminisce of thought the CPU had recorded was the human half of Thirteen screaming out...

?God help us all.?

Bloodshot eyes adorned the glare of the Saiya-jin whom arm pressed itself against the side of a tree gently, a certain fatigue filtered by the alteration of his stance. He had been traveling alone for the majority of the trip and it had begun taking its toll on him... a constant paranoia festered itself inside him from the need to be on his feet.

"Mm." Almost wanting to stammer something though nothing came. He had consumed much of the food and drink carried with him, resorting the what could be found along the path up till now.

Ahead the narrow clearing now began to separate wider as he walked before braking into a vast opened field that seemed very practical given the distant building that resembled a barn house in the distance. At this point he hadn't given a care wither or not the place was abandoned, somewhere to lay for an hour or so would've been sufficient enough.
"Civilization has never looked so good." It was almost a quick second before the space between the barn doors faded into a living shadow, crouched with a metallic object jetting outward in his direction. The nozzle quickly was identified as the hybrid had seen it before... a gun barrel. "Fuck."

Seconds before Goten had prepared himself for the inevitable sting of a bolt tearing through a portion of his body, the redemption of his hope took a leap.
"... Goten?" It was Trunks. If there was any voice in the world he could depict it was that of the lavender haired Saiya-jin's.

"Trunks!?" With an over expired run the halfling forced himself forth towards the barn till he could press his palm against the cool wooden frame with a big childish grin on his face. "Is that a gun in your hand or are you just happy to see me?"

Face to Face

Metal Koola, Olibu, Reijin and Vegeta

Olibu set Toma's body next to Retane's. It was too dark to take the time to bury them, but he felt that it was only right to at least put them out of the open field. With that done, he grabbed his bag and headed off. "What a night," the man sighed.

It wasn't long before he heard footsteps. Quickly, he dropped his bag and put his hands up in self defense.

"Who's there?"

He heard a thud behind when. When he spun, he saw three figures. Two tall males stood around a short, stubby creature. He couldn't tell who they were because of the continued darkness.

Another thud came behind him. Olibu turned so he was facing the side, and could turn his head either way. His eyes scanned over the newcomer. Tall, and with a rather shiny figure. His skin was literally reflecting the light of the moon.

"Four on one, huh?" Olibu smirked, keeping his cool. "Can't fight fair?"

"Koola," he heard. Reijin raised a hand to signal to the changling on the other side Olibu.

Without warning, the shiny figure raised up a box-like object and pulled the trigger. When Olibu spun around, the ki shots that erupted from the machine gun peirced into his body. One of his eyes were shot out, his formally beautiful figure shot apart. He fell backwards, landing on his ass.

"Spirit Ball!" The already defeated man shouted. The box of cards literally tore apart, and the 56 peices of paper shot towards Metal Koola. With the ki just barely affected the wind, they all slammed into his metallic body.

And then they dropped. His only move, his ace in the hole...failed.

"You're not worth fighting fair," he heard.

And then the tip of Vegeta's Scythe hit his throat, and ripped it open. Blood spilled forward, covering the blonde man's body moments before it became a corpse.

29 Fighters Remaining

The Deck of Cards need to be put back in their case, otherwise left.

The group can take the deck of cards, baseball cap, battle charger, and medical kit if they wish. Make sure you decide who gets what. The medical kit only has one heal left.

The fallen angel known as Reijin stood there, glowering down at their victim. He hadn't even bothered to join into the fight, as the whelp that they had encountered required no effort at all. It was simply more of an execution than an actually fight, and the others had handled it well. Saiba was kneeling beside Olibu's corpse, sniffing its first encountered dead body, and he looked up at his master, wrinkling his nose. Reijin shrugged, and to his surprise, Saiba lifted up his leg and a stream of liquid suddenly covered Olibu's open eyes, the Saibaman apparently marking its territory.

Reijin's eyes stared blankly, a slight bit stunned at this behavior, before turning to the others. "Take whatever is useful. We need to get out of here. We may have attracted attention from others nearby with this manuever." The others nodded and MK motioned for the items at the ground.

"So what of these items?"

Reijin shrugged for a moment. "I'll take the Med Kit, if there are no objections. You already have one and I'd like to be able to heal my Saibaman if something happens. I don't care who takes the Battle Charger. We all have better abilities anyways, but its not good to just leave it."

Vejita kneeled down and gave it a glance over. "I'll take it for now, and we'll decide later who keeps the spoils."

The Saibaman had been running around and gathering the various playing cards up, tossing them into one pile with pride. Reijin sighed and leaned down, stuffing the cards into their box and pocketing it before rising back to his feet. With his toys gone, the green creature immediately found the hat and put it onto his head backwards, as proud as could be.

Reijin's brow dripped of sweat, but he silently motioned for the group to move on, finding nothing of use here.

As Blue lay in his pain-induced slumber, he found himself wracked by horrific nightmares. The military man stood in a pitch-black forest, yet somehow he could see. All around him swarmed masses of black demons, each wearing the face of someone he knew, twisted in a sinister mask. Ahead of him shown a pale, white light and the wounded man knew that if he could only reach it, this nightmare would be over.

Starting off at a slow trot, Roy found that the closer he should be getting to said light, the further away it seemed. All the while the demons were closing in on him. Suddenly, a dark form appeared before Blue, a demon wearing the face of Bujin, its expression one of sadistic glee. The blue-eyed man wanted to run, anywhere, but his body wouldn?t respond as the evil creature raises his palm and fired a ki-blast through his victim?s abdomen.

Eyes popping open, Blue cried out in fear, causing his companions to look over at him. Just as the red-haired man tried to explain, the pain came back two-fold, nearly sending the human back into darkness. Gritting his teeth, the ex-Red Ribbon soldier shot a dirty look at Bujin, declaring, ?That was bullshit, you dwarven piece of shit! Next time, do me a favor and DON?T do me a favor. Now, I gotta deal with pain ten times worse than what I had before.?

Looking down at him, Roy grimaced at the sight of his beautiful body marred with scorched flesh. ?Goddam you, you worthless sonuvabitch!? The red-haired human, kept going, but by this time his allies had begun ignoring him. They knew he was in a bad mood, due to the pain, and they allowed him to blow off such steam as he needed. However, they didn?t expect it to last as long as it did. Did Blue even need to breath, it just seemed one long string of curse-words, interspersed with threats to kill them.

Eventually, as his tirade came to a close, the short-tempered man set to simply glaring a whole in each of his friends in turn.

Piccolo Daimoun just sat there after their little ordeal. At this point, he couldn't sleep, due to the little event they had just got out of. Relaxing himself, he turned to the blue man and relieved him of his duty, "Alright Bujin, take a nap and I'll watch our little...Heh...Camp, alright?"

Smiling as he said this, he knew he needed to strengthen as many relationships with his little alliance that he could. He noticed out of the corner of his eye two fiery dots around two black spheres. He could almost feel two holes start to bore in his skull as his unyielding gaze pierced his mind.

The eyes were the windows to your soul. Right now, Blues soul was ready to rip apart anyone who had just helped his damn wounds pain flare up to an almost unbearable level. But the red ribbon soldier learned that no pain was unbearable...You would be forced through it, whether you wanted to take it or not.

The jade Namekian wanted to put any hate at piece between the group, and moved to resolve the knot that was in his head.

"How ya feeling?" He asked, trying to break the wall of ice that was most apparent between the twos personalities, which had reinforcements from the rage that was held by the dull red haired mans head. All he got back was a look at his back as he awkwardly shifted. The elder Namekian pursed his lips as he noticed Blue's breathing became heavier and more ragged. The wound was a lot for him to hold, a great burden.

"Look, we need to work together, and you need to stay strong...Take this," He said as nicely as possible, handing him a piece of his last loaf of bread.

Blue took it as talking condescendingly, "Fuck you and fuck your bread, I don't need you!" Slapping the bread down, he tried to stand up but had trouble doing so. Sighing to himself, the slug like alien grabbed under his armpits and hoisted him up.

It was a stupid thing to do, and by now Piccolo Daimoun should have known that helping a weak man with strong pride was a death wish, "Don't touch me! I don't need you! I don't need that asshole that decided to 'fix' my stomach!" He said in a rage.

"Blue...Please lis-"

"I don't need this group anymore! In fact, I think I should find that asshole that shot me and run him through!"

Fed up, the jade Namekian thought of something to make the rash man think. He poked him in his wound quite quickly, causing him to howl in pain. Leaning in he whispered before the ex-soldier could talk, "Remember that pain before you want to go on a bloodlust."

Blue snorted and shook his head at him, so he poked it again for a similar affect, "Remember that pain when you think you don't need us. If we weren't there, you would have been finished."

Blue looked like he was about to burst on him, and Piccolo Daimoun felt he had goaded the bear enough. Turning around, he moved to settle back into his spot to be alert for intruders into their little sleeping ground.
