Face to Face

Yamu

"Where ya goin?" Came the sweet voice of Hasky. She was laying down, as usual, as the rest of the group plotted their next destination.

"Scouting ahead," he explained, and walked off without thinking about it.

The human headed off, going in a set direction. He figured it would be a good idea to just go for a walk, alone, and think things through.

A lot had happened. He had remembered things in his past, and found his close friend Gohan. He had been able to prove that he was a kind, noble soul to Selipa, who proved that not all saiyans were mean. He had, in effect, saved Hasky from a painful death.

Suddenly, his thoughts stopped. His collar began to beep.

"What the--?"

He put a hand to the necklace. What was this? What was going on?

He reached for his map, realizing he had mis-placed it. Had he gone too far? He realized that he hadn't even looked where he was going!

The bulky human spun and made a break for it, going back the way he came. The beeping got faster, and louder...

Until the collar erupted in an explosive blast, yipping the man's neck apart. He fell forward, painfully slamming into the ground.

Mistakes were made.

Face to Face

Goku Jr, Goten, Minoshia, Super Buu, Tapion, and Violet

"Ugh..." Goten grunted, stumbling forward. He threw a branch over the fire, and then moved to lean against a tree. His wound was still hurting.

It had been about an hour since everyone had left. He heard the announcement about Hellfighter and Garlic dying. He hoped everyone else was okay, and on their way back to get him.

He walked forward to pick up his GPS. He struggled to bend down and pick it up, but finally did. He clicked the button to see his area.

Six dots. His, and five others.

"What the...?"

Before he could react, an arrow peirced into the back of his head, and out of his forehead. He fell to the side, quick and painless.

"Shit!" Trunks cursed, dropping flat on his back. "Shit!"

The valley was a death zone. Metal Koola's shiny body lay still as a rock, a single bullet shaped hole through his forehead ending his time on the island. Bujin's lifeless corpse rested upon the top of the hill, his last move doing quite some damage to Thirteen. The android's gut was open, with the projectile's exit clean through his back. Garlic Junior's bullet ridden body stayed motionless and face down on the ground. Seventeen accepted the cruelest death; his head crushed by a giant hammer.

Thankfully, Kami only took as much damage as Trunks had, and Thirteen, although badly wounded, was still OK. Trunks immediately got his bag and pulled out his medical kit, getting straight to work on Thirteen's stomach.

"Shit!" Trunks repeatedly cursed, suturing the android's sparking abdomen. "Dammit! I can't believe what happened!"

"Hey, calm it down," Kami soothed, rubbing the bullet holes on his back. "We went into it, we knew the risks. You can't get angry because things don't always go our way."

Trunks finished healing the injury of the silver maned cyborg, throwing the empty metal container away in frustration. His eyes burned with rage that belied the softer blue tone within them.

"Seventeen!" Trunks yelled at Kami. "Seventeen's dead! I said I'd protect him! He's got a little girl out there!"

"Trunks, please," Kami continued, still in his calm manner, "try to slow down. Relax a little."

"Don't tell me to relax," Trunks warned through clenched teeth. "Seventeen's dead. Garlic Junior's dead. I can't even see Goten anymore."

It wasn't fair. He was finally together with Goten again. Seventeen was starting to warm to him. Things were going so well for them, and now... Trunks was going to get to know Garlic Jr. Their alliance, the confident air that surrounded them was shattered.

"Arrgh!" Trunks bellowed, his rage breaking free from its cage. Despite the exhaustion from his transformation, his unadulterated anger would not be bridled by physical limits. Dust kicked up around his feet, suddenly shooting upwards as it was parted by a brilliant golden aura. Trunks' long hair spiked up into a shimmering crown, finding release in his Super Saiyan form.

"Arrr---ahh!" he moaned, dropping to his knees. His exhaustion took him over, pulling him out of his ascended form. Tears welled in his eyes, falling to the blood soaked dirt. "I... I..."

"It's ok," Kami said, getting down on his knees and patting the halfling on the back. "It's hard to deal with this. I'm no stranger to it." He helped Trunks back to his feet, where the empathatic android stood nearby.

"We should keep on moving," Thirteen stated, picking up the medical kit that Metal Koola left behind. Trunks reclaimed his ki rifle, and Kami took Garlic Junior's guitar.

"Maybe I can play a few travelling songs," Kami gestured as the emotionally drained halfling took the lead, bringing the remainder of the alliance out of the graveyard.

OOC: I used my last heal on Thirteen. I just rped Kami and 13 taking the weapons; we'll work out who gets what.

That was it. He was dying. He was dying, pure and simple.

His stomach rumbled loudly. But it wasn?t saying, ?feed me.? Oh, no. It was saying, ?hey Bardock, shove some food down your throat or I?m going to annoy the shit outta you!?

He hadn?t eaten in twenty-four hours, a crime unto itself. To not consume precious, precious food for such an eternity was unspeakable. Starvation was a capital sin! Bar grabbed his half empty water bottle, chugging its contents, and downed the second bottle without another thought. Not a drop escaped his parched lips. So much for conservation?he was going to be up half the night springing a leak. With that, he gorged himself on the loaf and a half of bread tucked away in his supply bag. The starchy food was completely stale and crusted over. Not that it mattered. He could have eaten wood at this point. When the bread was settling nicely in the bottom of his stomach, the saiya-jin glanced around. The fighter supposed if he got hungry enough, he could always resort to cannibalism, and just eat his way to a win. But none of them looked like they tasted very good. There was still several packs of the dried meat from the farm, and he helped himself to about half of it, reluctantly cutting himself off.

It was about a few moments afterwards that he noticed the smell. His nostrils took in the scents that hung in the air: saiyan and human blood, and lots of environmental smells. But no?the culprit was in fact, his body odor. He had been sweating freely from the heat for the past two days, accompanied by the salty excretions his body produced during an adrenaline rush. It didn?t really bother him. You get used to it after a while. But the oily film that covered his skin was beginning to itch. Bardock had spotted a river not too far by, and slipped away for a dunk.

He approached the riverbank and knelt into a crouch, sniffing the water and taking a sample sip. Both tests passed. He knelt his face and slurped the cool liquid freely, ridding his mouth of the feeling of warm saliva. Both of his water bottles were refilled to full and placed back within the duffel. With that, Bardock removed his armor, tossing it to the ground in a heavy thud. His shirt and boots were next, along with the scouter affixed to his face. He hesitated at the pants, wondering if someone of the wrong gender may have noticed his departure and decided to follow. Inwardly, he shrugged. Off came the pants. In a casual dive, he plunged into the icy depths of the river, and felt two little buddies jump up and say hello in immediate shrinkage. Other than that, it felt good. Cold seeped into every fiber of his flesh, numbing him from everything. His head broke the surface of the water, his lungs gasping for air. Raven locks were now dripping wet, drooping from the weight of the liquid. He wiped the water from his face, treading within the depths to stay afloat. The fighter leaned back, his body bobbing up and down against the surface. Bardock let the icy coldness take him, away from this island and away from these people. His soul drifted away into the rift between existence and non. All of his mistakes faded to black, and for a brief moment, he was free.

He loved the water. It was therapeutic, one of the few things that could sooth the savageness and the confusion that consumed him. He didn?t have half as many answers as he claimed.

The sun was fading fast, taking its tropical warmth with it.

Quickly, Bardock rubbed the water into his skin, clearing away the slippery coating of pore ooze. The roughneck swam back to the bank, emerging from the river. His tail shook itself out before wrapping around his waist, the fur slicked over with moisture. The clothes came back on almost as fast as they?d come off, and the warrior trekked back into camp. Now that he had cooled off, it was time to heat up again.

He ignited his fists, feeling the warm energy surge through his veins. He glanced over at Bra. Any sort of friendliness had now vanished from her eyes, now replaced with watchfulness. She wasn?t very happy with him?or at all, for that matter. His last comment had a bigger impact than he?d intended. It was really only meant as a joke. The fighter would no sooner want to kill her than he would kill his own flesh and blood, nor was he even remotely sure he?d be able to do so should the time come to pass. While she may have despised it, her royal status held influence, inciting reluctance. In the end, he had taken something away from the brief bout?a measurement of strength, speed, and style of movement. The more he saw of people?s fighting skills, the better he could prepare himself for the possible event that they would clash on the battlefield. Still, he was loath to the idea, despite how tempting the kill impulse normally was for him.

It didn?t matter. The more names Karl checked off every six hours, the closer it came to when allies became foes. Yamu, the stupid human, had already wandered away and gotten himself offed. Bardock felt no pity for the veined creature whatsoever?one less person to worry about. Yamu?s female companion was clearly distraught over the loss. Bar?s expression blackened, and he walked by, staring her in the face, saying nastily as he went, ?If it?s any consolation, you won?t last much longer anyway.? His gaze turned towards Selipa, cold and unforgiving. ?That was a waste, and you know it.?

Bardock shook his head and found a tree to lean on. Extinguishing his flames, his brawny arms were folded over his chest, the shotgun within hand?s reach. The way Bra looked at him now had left a sour taste in his mouth. He wasn?t in such a good mood anymore.

Why the fuck should I care about anything? Nothing cares back.

Kami could see the rage that was leaping from every inch of Trunk's body. Little did the sayjin know, the Namek felt the same way. Only he had to deal with it better than he did to keep what was left of the team together. Now that they were all tired and injured he hoped Goten was still doing fine. He really wasn't sure what the next move should be at this point in time.

He remembered both Vegeta and Reijin from past battles and experiences. He'd even chatted a bit with Reijin before the tournament began. What a crazy world this is... The bullet wounds in his back ached with a stinging pain, it only served to piss off the Namek rather than bring him to a knee in anguish.

Trunks still had his fists clentched tightly, the tension in his jaw was easy to spot. The rage was still there, caked in sadness and regret. "Trunks," his long hair didn't move and inch but Kami knew he was listening, "I couldn't help but over hear Vegeta hesitating when he saw you."

That got the fused halfling's attention, "Yeah...I guess so."

"Maybe we can use that." Trunks shot the old Namek a dirty glare, but Kami simply looked back at the sayjin and wagged his finger. "No no, not like that. We'll talk more later."

Kami fumbled with the guitar to see what he could remember. He always had a lot of time to kill up on the lookout, so when he wasn't keeping an eye on the Earth his occasionally picked away at an old guitar he had tucked away. The strings quietly rattled and buzzed out chords. It seemed odd to be playing at a time like this, and on the guitar of his recently deceased team mate no less.

Thirteen had his hand over the hole in his stomach. "Good thing you've only got circuits in there...right?" The android grunted a little bit but had enough common sense to begin to pick up on how Kami often spoke, concern consealed within a joke. He could appreciate something like that.

"Yeah, I suppose so," he paused, "But it still hurts like hell when I move." Kami gave a nervous chuckle.

"I wish I could use my damned ki sense...I want to know if Goten is ok." The emerald warrior ran a hand over his head. The motion reminded him that his back had a few bullet wounds in it, he gritted his teeth and sucked in air.

Trunks nodded, and the now three fighters tried to keep moving. The game just changed drastically for the three.

The smaller Majin had pulled the trigger on the Sniper Rifle, blowing a hole through the massively strong android before them. His stomach erupted and he suddenly stopped his assualt, looking down in shock at his internal circuitry and organs intermingling.

Reijin took advantage of the moment to grab Vejita's arm and pull him to his feet. "NOW!" he yelled. Bujin had been the perfect tool, completing his task till his dying breath. Reijin's only regret was that he could not have killed the runt himself in the moment of chaos, but for the moment he had to get them away.

The two of them immediately ran quickly away from the group, Reijin throwing out his hand to telekinetically grab the Sniper Rifle as well as the vest and hammer from Bujin's corpse as he slowly faded away from life. As soon as he felt a connection, he turned to find his Saibaman. The green creature was dancing side to side while waving his fingers in his ears at them, sticking out his tongue. Reijin growled and it spun around and followed the group. He cast a glare at the group as he same idea struck them; save the conclusion for a better time.

A short time later, the three of them collapsed from exhaustion in the dirt. Reijin rolled over onto his back and watched as the after noon sun slowly faded to dusk. "Fuck!" he exclaimed. "They got the jump on us!" His head rolled to look at his friend.

The King was breathing slowly, not near as tired as Reijin was, but was grasping his wrist painfully. "I think I broke my wrist!" he growled. He looked Reijin in the eyes with a bloodthirsty look on his face. "Just what the hell did you attack my son for?"

Reijin rolled to an upright position, but immediately fell back to his side, laying in the grass with little energy. "Its a competition! You are a fool if you think that he wouldn't have attacked us. If I recall, they attacked US, remember?"

Vejita growled in anger, but couldn't think of any way around it. Reijin was right. He still didn't like it. "Metal Koola didn't make it either..."

Reijin rolled his eyes. "Only those that deserve to live have done so. They were obviously too weak to do what it took to live." He heard his accomplice angrily growl at his cold comment, but he didn't care. He was too tired. It was only moments before he fell asleep where he lay, grumbling weakly about their losses being due to other's incompetence...

Hours later, he awoke to hear a howl across the night sky. He slowly pushed himself to his feet and looked around, to see Saiba curled into a ball sleeping at his feet with his King still sleeping to the side. He slowly pulled himself to his feet and walked over to Vejita's side. Using the knowledge that he had gained from his Healing Technique, he could see the external signs of Vejita's wrist truely being broken.

He kneeled down and grabbed the wrist of his King, immediately inciting a howl of pain from him. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" he howled. As soon as the words escaped his mouth, he realized what he was saying and quickly stifled his words, trying hard not to show outward signs of pain. "Leave me alone. Its just a scratch, fool!"

Reijin glared him in the eye. "Bullshit. Now shut the hell up and stay still." With every defiant word from the King he squeezed tighter on the hand to bring obedience. His other hand trailed into his clothing and pulled forth the Med Kit that he'd gotten from Olibu before. He deftly opened it and pulled out a roll of medical tape, along with a tight wrap. Laying the items on the ground next to him, he pulled out a small syringe. "Heh... A local anesthetic," he smiled. Whether or not Vejita admitted it, he'd appreciate this pain killer.

The sight of the needle brought a wide eye from the shorter Saiyan, but he was unable to move quickly enough to prevent the needle from entering his wrist, quickly releasing a numbing fluid into his broken limb. Removing it, Reijin tossed it to the ground, throwing a tight wrap around the hand. Moments later, he'd taped it up perfectly. "You should have full use of it by morning. I think that it will still hurt, but this anesthetic should keep you painless till for at least a week, which is more time than we need."

The royal warrior glowered at his ally. "I don't need this," he stated simply, at odds with his manhood.

Reijin simply pushed him back to the ground and walked back to the Saibaman. "Shut your hole and quit bitching. I am too exhausted from that fight to stay awake. I don't need to listen to your complaints." His head was pouring sweat from his tiredness, and he suddenly fell to his knees. The fight had taken a lot more from him than he knew. The void consumed him a moment later, and he collapsed to the ground, oblivious to anything around them.

EDIT: Used final charge on med kit for Vejita's wound, should remove it and make it simply a story wound.

Seven figures made their way across the grassy plain in silence. Walking was getting too old, too soon. The weariness of the fighters was all too prominent in their eyes, the need for battle etched across their faces.

The younger Konat moved ahead to a high rock, climbing atop to take a look around. ?Hey! I found something!? He shouted.

The small party edged around the prince, a slurry of questions bombarding him at once. ?There is someone?over there.? He pointed in the direction of his discovery. ?I think we got a party, everyone;? the Konat sounded all too pleased with his find, lips curling upwards into an almost evil smirk.

Violet glanced up at him, observing his all too cocky stance. She hadn?t noticed it before, but for being so short and young, he certainly fit the bill for her weary eyes. She?d have to talk to him alone at some point?just to get to know him. Bad boys were her flavor, after all. Maybe?

?Let?s go check it out. The less competition we have alive, the better.? Tapion said, folding his arms across his chest. His face was solid, set into stern lines, but his dark eyes danced in pride at his younger brother.

Climbing down from his rock, Minoshia brushed his clothing off, and smiled. As misplaced as it was, Violet couldn?t help but mimic. He didn?t look half bad when he smirked like that?especially without the undercurrent of bloodlust shining in his deep emeralds eyes. Definitely?she thought?definitely have to talk to him later?

?Seventeen and Kibbles stay behind. We can?t afford them to get killed now.? Supes barked, more command then suggestion. There were no objections, save for a few expletives under his twin?s breath, but he followed anyways. For now, at least. ?The rest of you, let?s move.?

Flames flickered through the trees, and that was the first mistake.

The party moved through the wilderness quietly, none daring to speak a word unless they risked being ambushed. All they could tell now was that there was only one person sitting around that fire, but one could never be too cautious. He probably had buddies waiting somewhere for him.

A grunt echoed from the campsite, filled with pain, which meant whoever it was, he was injured. Violet had to wonder who in the hell would leave an injured man behind?that was cowardice, and just begging for trouble; but as they edged closer, she could smell the hint of blood lingering through the foliage, the scent intoxicating her senses. It carried her body closer, closer?

She looked back at her group, the question in her eyes that needed not spoken. Supes nodded, and she went to her side, fingers lacing around the handle of her newly acquired crossbow. Unhooking it, she lifted it to the back of the man?s head.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Goten looked at the blips on his monitor, knowing he was in trouble. Help wouldn?t arrive in time. They were too close?in fact?.he barely had time to turn his head?
?What the??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

TWANG! The arrow dispatched quickly from the weapon, slicing through the skull of the black haired victim, the back of his skull exploding in torrents of bone, blood and thicker things. He slumped forward, silent forever.

Violet almost felt remorse for her actions. She swore she wouldn?t kill again in cold blood, but look at her now?it was too late to take it back. She had to remember the adage ?Kill or be killed?, which seemed to be the motto of this game, but it still didn?t stop her from letting a single, silver tear track down her reddened cheek. She said a silent apology as the group descended upon the corpse.

?Holy shit!? Super Buu exclaimed, finally seeing the victim for the first time. ?Goten!?

The group huddled around the body, picking at the items that lay around it. Violet sat in the background, slowly backing from the body of her victim. She knew she would have his blood on her hands for the rest of eternity, as she had the blood of countless others before him. One more shouldn?t have made her feel the way she did, but for some reason, the choked pain in her pink friend?s face made her soul suddenly have weight.

His eyes flickered over the wound, the corpse, and finally the items he left behind, noticing the round device sitting just a foot away from the man?s hands. Swiftly, he picked it up, studying it. After looking it over, he shoved it in his billowy white pants and walked away, looking away, looking somewhere besides at the body.

Minoshia swiped up the tonfa, weighing them in his hands, a delighted smirk once again crossing his features. The other two rifled through the deceased?s supplies, taking what would be useful and leaving the rest behind, perhaps as a reminder for his allies should they wander past this spot. They sure in the hell would be pissed if they found out their clansmen was dead, if he even had a clan, and thus one more reason Civil Unrest should be wary. It was yet another target on their heads?

Whilst the trio of Minoshia, Goku Junior and Tapion sorted through their booty, Violet, heavy with remorse, edged quietly up to the statuesque majin. One hand reached out to touch his arm, but he jerked away, growling below his breath.

?Don?t touch me, fleshbag.? He hissed, gaze never faltering from his spot in the distance.

She was worried about him. How long would it be before the golem, the only person in the world at this point that her heart depended on, turned on her? Would her death be at his hands, or would she be the one to take his life in the end, if they made it that far? How much longer will this madness of Dante?s Abyss continue to rip allies apart, making the closest of friends turn their backs only to have another put a knife in it?

She envisioned it so clearly. Of course she couldn?t kill him. Maybe if he made the move first, but even then, she doubted if she would be capable of delivering the blow that silenced him forever. Maybe he would choke the life slowly from her, her body growing limp under his careful fingers, sagging against him as the light slowly faded from her azure depths? Or perhaps he would just do it quick, and smash her head in with one of his massive boots? She wouldn?t even see it coming?

?Buu?I am sorry?did you know him??

Silence stretched like an invisible hand between them. She never felt more alone in her life, and for once, the guilt finally made it almost unbearable to be around him. Of course he knew him, or Supes wouldn?t be acting the way he was. Without another word, she moved away, back into the depths of the forest, where she could wallow in her guilt without having some idiot patronize her for her murder.

Time was passing agin. The second day was drawing to a close. Through his emotional and physical distress, Trunks finally recognised the state of his body. Exhaustion and hunger were taking their toll upon him, and he doubted the remnants of the alliance were excluded from it.

"Guys," Trunks whimpered, dropping to his knees after their long trek, "I need to rest."

Kami and Thirteen stopped. "Yeah, you're right," Kami agreed. "I could do with a bit of shut eye too."

"Sounds logical," Thirteen added. "Reserving my energy would be a good choice to make."

"OK then," Trunks stated, cementing his original proposition. "Sleep, then we move on." The halfling haphazardly dumped the contents of his satchel on the ground, lying his rapid fire ki gun within arm's reach. He guzzled the remainder of his water and consumed the last portion of food, before burping loudly. It wasn't a smart way to live, but Trunks often only ate once a day. He knew he had to learn better eating habits one day.

"Righto, goodnight." Trunks plopped his head into his hands, lying on his back. Despite all that had transpired in recent hours, the hybrid found no problems in instantly dropping off to sleep.

------

Some time later, Trunks awoke. The stars were still in the sky. Kami was still sleeping, no doubt a result of the draining effects of Ultra Namek on his elderly body. Thirteen rested nearby, but it didn't appear that he was sleeping. Deciding to stand guard for his remaining allies, Trunks got to his feet and firmly held his ki rifle. He would help protect his dozing friends until everyone was rested and ready.

He wasn't going to fail them like he did to Seventeen.

Time itself had blurred into the bleak of night, unable to be told on the planet Dante. Reijin's eyes fluttered open, welcoming nothing more than the night's moon to view. His breathing was still shallow, but he knew that they needed to keep moving. They were nowhere near a safe location to rest at, and he needed to ensure them that they could rest easily without worry. Only then would they truely get the rest they needed to be at full power.

He had to wake the others and prepare them to move out, slavemaster that he was...

"Get your lazy ass up!"

He felt Vejita's vengeful foot lodge itself into his side, and he rolled on the ground and pushed himself angrily to his feet. "What the hell is your problem?" he growled venemously. The King grabbed the Saibaman by the head and simply lifted it up. Saiba awoke quickly and immediately hung there, throwing punches and kicks into the air in a vain attempt to reach Vejita himself.

"Its time to leave," he spoke, leering at the other two. Saiba's ki shot immediately struck him in the mouth and he dropped the green creature, cursing loudly as it ran behind Reijin and stuck its head between the Saiyan's fee, thumbing its nose at the King who was gesturing rudely at it.

Reijin turned to gather up their belongings. "We need to decide who gets what out of these items," he announced. By now he had already put on the Ki-proof Vest and thrown the Sniper Rifle over his shoulder to accompany the Rapid Fire Ki Gun. "I'm thinking that one of us can wear the vest and the Rapid Gun to get in close while the other gives support fire with the Sniper Rifle. We also have the Saibaman here to help out a bit," he motioned to Saiba.

Vejita rubbed his face with his rough hands, soothing the stinging that encompassed it. "Are you ever going to name your little pet?" he mocked at him. He immediately felt a kick to his leg, snatching it back while Saiba ran directly back to Reijin's sheltering legs, hiding in his cloak. "You two were made for each other. I want you to know that."

The younger Saiyan chuckled. He'd trained the creature well, but the little gremlin's own playful nature was turning out to offer a lot to the group. The green guy suddenly ran through Reijin's legs, pointing wildly to the woods nearby. Reijin spun around, and realized that the Saibaman was also helping a lot with being a watchdog. Three figures emerged from the woods, and immediately stepped back wearily, giving each other uneasy glances.

Reijin grimaced and tightened his fists, placing his hand on the Rapid Gun. Vejita's fingers lingered onto the Scythe as he found himself eyeing his son. "What the hell do you guys want?" the twenty-one year old warrior threw out. He saw that the two mortal warriors were breathing heavily with multiple gunshot wounds to their extremities, and they looked nearly as weak as Reijin's own group. The Android seemed to have been patched up a bit, but his eyes were glazed over and dim, showing a large amount of fatigue.

Kami stepped forward diplomatically. He had a weak and foolish smile upon his face as he did so. "We got in over our heads. We payed the price," he started. Reijin spat at the ground before them in response. The old Namekian continued regardless. "I didn't think that we'd have taken as heavy losses as we did. It all made sense on paper, logically anyways..."

The older Saiyan chuckled at the elder Namekian. "So you've come to apologize?" Kami shook his head as Trunks stepped forward, eyeing Reijin with a look of disdain while attempting to be neutral. It was very weakly covered up malice, and Reijin simply returned a completely placid look.

"We are left without choice. We know that behind us was another group with a large amount of power. We left Goten behind when we made our move on you... I thought my father would be proud of me for it," he mentioned, nodding at Vejita. Vejita's eyes gave nothing away, so he continued. "Goten was not there when we returned. I fear that he has been ambushed by the other group. After this fight, we simply are not up to the task of dealing with them right now. We are exhausted, and need to rest. I can only assume that you do as well."

The android finally joined in on the conversation. "The only logical course of action is that we request temporary asylum, hoping that we group together for the time for the safety of all five of us-"

"Six," Reijin interrupted, nodding to his Saibaman.

"Of course," Thirteen spoke slowly, keeping his calm. "Regardless, we are in no condition to fight you. You are in no condition to fight us. We all need rest now. Another group is stalking us at this very moment, we fear. Do you see where this is going?"

A moment of silence lingered amongst the group, standing now exactly six feet apart over what seemed to be a truce line in the ground. Three warriors facing three warriors, if you counted the Saibaman. A very pissed and hatless Saibaman. Reijin's chuckled broke the eerie peace. "I do. You wish to shelter yourselves under us, hoping not to attract the bigger monsters out there."

Trunks growled and angrily stepped foward to Reijin's face, his breath cascading over the other Saiyan's scouter. "Listen, you piece of shit. If I had any alternative that did not mean certain death, I would take it a hell of a lot sooner than dealing with the likes of you," he growled. "It just so happens that this is the best course of action for both of our groups involved. We both sustained heavy losses-"

"YOU sustained heavy losses," the cold Saiyan whispered for Trunks' ears. "You were too weak for that fight, and you know it. Those that died on our side were expendable. They were tools," he taunted, grinning at the Prince. "In chess, the pawns always fall first. That is why the pawns move first."

Trunks's fist was caught by Vejita's midswing. "Reijin, silence yourself!" he seethed at his ally. "You are speaking to the Prince of all Saiyans!" he announced.

Reijin laughed. "Wouldn't be the first time I've put a Prince in his place. Sometimes, they need to know why they are weak," he taunted once more, turning and walking away from the line. "I'll abide by your decision. The blood will fall on your hands." He laid down on the ground and reached up, rudely pulling the hood of his cloak down over his face so as to shut out the world as he attempted to return to rest.

Vejita turned back to his son. "I'll agree to the terms," he spoke slowly. "You are right. We both sustained heavy losses. Any treachery will result in blood, understand?"

Trunks nodded at his father and 13 blinked apathetically. "Agreed."

The animosity still lingering in the air, the Namekian stepped forward, placing his arms on the shoulders of both Trunks and Vejita and guiding them away. "Hey, now that we are all friends, I'm sure the two of you have a lot to talk about. We cleared up most of this before the tournament, so I'm sure there are no hard feelings, right? I mean, remember the campfires XT used to have when I was there?" his voice dripped, his smile so disarming. Turning from the father and son, he walked back to the group and watched as 13 found himself a place to rest at, and he sat down, faintly strumming along on the guitar to the sounds of the night, eyeing his new partners.

Humanity. A strange concept that was often invoked, it nonetheless held about it an undefinable mystique. What was humanity? Was it a race of people trying to scrape their way through the universe on the planet Earth? Was it a moral concept, a chivalrous code that ensured the rights and privileges to feelings that every being had? Or was it something deeper, something spiritual, an unknowable quality for an unknowable word that rose up from the very flurries of the souls and made them feel, if but for a moment, part of something more than themselves?

Whatever it might have been, Kid suddenly felt the weight of humanity slumping its heavy load upon him. Although he was certainly stronger than Atlas, he did not feel that he could bear the weight of the world that had settled down across his shoulders. He looked down into the deformed, undeniably dead face of Goten with a quiet shudder at the mortality of existence. The impact from behind had done more than simply rip away the back of the young man's skull. With surprising force the bolt had torn through the brain and out the front of the forehead, distorting the shape of connective tissues and rearranging rattled bones. Goten's bulging eyes, wide and staring, seemed to be watching him as he stood above. Judging. He leaned down and quickly flicked the saiyan's eyelids closed with the ends of his fingers.

Could he really have thought about doing this to Violet? Suddenly his stomach turned, clenched and wavered in its resolve not to vomit at the site of early onset rigor mortis. If he had shot her in the side of the head, no doubt the traitorous - but necessary - act would have resulted in a far more grotesque and nightmarish visage than this. But as an aside to that, how could he leave this to happen to her, or indeed to any of his friends, at the hands of someone else? He did not dwell on the question too long, as the woman he had tried to kill stalked away from the group and into the woods. Alone.

His fingers tightened on Seventeen's elbow as he pulled himself upright again with a small grunt of pain. Phantom muscles itched in the empty air where his leg should have been. He and the ebony haired youth had waited before following their comrades, whom had scouted ahead. As a result, they had had to make the journey together. Despite Buu's suspicions, Seventeen had helped him. "Thank you," he murmured quietly to the android, surprised at the subdued note in his own voice.

He turned to follow Violet into the forest.

"There once was a little guy
who set out on his own
No would ever see him again
Or talk to him on the phone

He told that he'd be just fine
That fortune was on his side
But none of them would know
That little Pinchy had just lied

Just as fate would have it
Just as fate did know
In no more that two days time
Little Pinchy'd cease to grow

A big ol' giant monster
Told him he shoulda ducked
And when McGrabbem didn't listen
He learned that he'd been -- ow!"

A dull pain thudded across Rad's arm, rudely interrupting his homage to the scorpion, Pinchy McGrabbem. With a quick spin he threw out a fist fist (more out of instinct than anything else) hoping to catch his assailant off-guard. Luckily for said assailant, his blow failed to connect. Rad's eyes darted about searching for the one foolish enough to distract him. When the saiyan's vision focused in on his significant other, the tension drained away. Until, of course, he heard what the silly woman had to say. A wide grin spread across the face of the hardened warrior.

"Tag, you're it!"

And with that the Android was off. It was all Raditzu could do to contain his amusement to a mere cackle. Tag him?! Tag Raditzu!? Little did Android Eighteen know that Raditzu was the Grand Master It on no fewer than three planets! He had battled his way through the ranks of his fellow its, beating them asunder with tags that would make grown men flinch and women cry. Though some protested his claims to championship, Raditzu paid no heed. The tournaments had been official and there was clearly no mention of an age limit. Who were a bunch of whiny middle-schoolers to call him a cheater? Nay! Not one of them was able to best the long-haired wonder in the glorious competion of wits, the almighty game of speed and endurance known only as 'Tag.'

With his cackle trailing behind him, Rad took off after the androidess at breakneck speed. The woman was clever, weaving between trees, doubling back, and using her lithe form manuever through spaces Raditzu would have diffculty with. What she had not been counting on, however (and with very good reason) was the unlikely display of grace and agility that was Raditzu. Admittedly, a couple of times, he zigged when he should have zagged, but otherwise he was doing a fair job of gaining ground on the woman. With a triumphant cry, the saiya-jin warrior burst from a treeline, expecting to tackle Eighteen. What he hadn't expected, however, was for Eighteen to duck behind a shrub. Raditzu hit the ground face first and rolled several yards smack into a river. He burst from the water, his long mane of hair disheveled and caked with mud and muck. He had little difficulty finding Eighteen, since she fell out of the shrub, clutching her side with unrestrained giggles. When she saw Rad barrelling towards her however, she leapt gracefully over her 'attacker' and over the river.

"Just wait, woman! I'll getcha!"

With that mighty and awe-inspiring proclimation, Rad tore across the river, powering through the water with little more than brute strength, and chased Eighteen into the tree line on the other side. It would be some time before the two would re-emrge from the foliage, since they both very quickly ended up getting lost. By the time they came tumbling back towards the river (and the rest of the group, as luck would have it) everyone in the camp was looking a little distraught. Bardock was huffing and puffing over by a tree, gun in hand (or close enough) while most everyone was shooting him dirty glares. Though neither Rad nor Eighteen knew what was going on at the moment, neither seemed to really care. Their spirits (at least Rad's. He only assumed 18 was in a good mood... though his judgement of her emotions had been known to be a little... rocky) had been significantly lifted. Rad looked around, taking in deep breaths with a wide grin, trying to think of how to get things going on a slightly better track. He snapped his fingers as an idea came to him.

"Ya know," the saiyan said to everyone and no one at the same time, "last time I saw a group as... pleasant... as this one, I was in the next dimension." Eighteen shot him a cockeyed expression. "Its true. This particular visit, however, I wasn't actually dead." He chuckled to himself as though he had just made a particularly amusing joke. "It was me a few other warriors and, if memory serves, we were bein' chased down by a big pack of... uh... I guess you'd call 'em demons." The saiyan warrior held a fist out in front of him for no apparent reason. "Everyone was looking a little upset, probably since we had just had our asses kicked, and we needed a way to take our minds off of it." His fist snapped open and a ball of ki materialized. "Someone, you can probably guess who, came up with the brilliant idea to play a little game called 'boom ball'."

"Boom ball? You're not serious, are you?"

"I'm dead serious, kiddo." Rad turned to Bra and tossed the ball of energy straight up. "Its pretty easy. You either hit the ball," the globe of ki reached the peak of its ascent and started back down, "or you go boom!"

With that, Rad slapped the ball of energy straight towards the saiyan princess. Instinctively, Bra swatted the ki away with the back of her hand, sending it careening towards a nearby tree. Just as it looked like the ball would tear straight towards the local flora, Rad materialized in front of it and let the ball ricochet off his forehead. The ball spun high into the air before sailing back down and being struck once again by the long-haired saiya-jin. This time the intended target was Eighteen. The android bounced lightly on the balls of her feet (creating an amusing effect Raditzu would describe mostly as intruiging) before letting the ball strike her forearm. Setting to herself, 18 had plenty of time to choose her target. With a smile she let the ki soar straight towards Bardock. Though the elder saiyan had been eyeing the ball warily, he showed no interest in the game. When the otherwise-destructive creation came within arm's reach he slapped it away with seemingly little effort. And so it went, the poor little boomball bouncing around the latest campsite of this ragtag alliance.

The images of the battle were still fresh on his mind as he sat there. He needed to rest, but his mind continued to wonder back onto the battlefield where four men had met their fates. Both Hellfighter Seventeen and Garlic Junior had fought bravely, but each had fallen and what was even worse, Goten had stayed behind to cover them, but now he was missing. Fear found its way into the android?s mind as he pondered, could his time almost be up as well? Would he be joining his fellow teammates sooner than expected? It was all becoming too much for him and Thirteen quickly found himself on edge. He had just started to warm up to the other android and the green goblin, but before he knew it, they were torn away from this island and his sight. This was a crazy and maddening game, the only issue that hung in the air, was how much longer would he continue to be a victim of it?s cruelty?

There was a low rustled to the androids left. Expecting someone to burst free of the brush and start firing upon their defenseless position, Thirteen was relieved to watch the lavender haired man lift himself from his prone position. He took a quick moment to glance at both teammates, but then he quickly gathered up his rifle and found his way to a tree. Leaning up against the massive trunk, Trunks? stared off into the distance, Thirteen could tell that something inside of him was struggling to stay bottled up. Lifting himself from the ground and making his way over to his lavender haired ally, the droid placed a hand on his shoulder, showing Trunks compassion for the first time.

?Look, they died with honor.? Thirteen spoke in a calm and soft manner. ?If I were to fade out of this game, it?s the way I would like to go, fully powered up and fighting my hardest. Both Hellfighter and Garlic Junior died for our cause, mourn them, but don?t let it get under your skin too deeply my friend. We must remember that they gave their lives up to help us on our venture, we owe it to them to live on. When you time comes, you?ll be re-united with them, but until them, head in the game, got it??

It took Trunks a moment to take in all that the android had said, then a second moment to refrain from lashing out. He knew that they were gone and that they had given their lives for them, but it was the fact that he had given Hellfighter his word and along with it, his pride. Heaving a heavy sigh, the lavender haired man felt a small weight lift off of his chest, he knew what must be done in order for his survival and the survival of the rest of his alliance. Breaking away from the android and marching over to the super Namekian Kami, Trunks rustled the alien awake.

?Come on.? instructed Trunks as he made his way over to his bag and threw it over his shoulder. ?We have something we must do, I?ll explain on the way.?

Willing to follow these two to the grave, Thirteen obediently packed his own pack and tossed it over his back. Knowing that if they didn?t eat the dead chicken that was still in his sack soon that it would become rotten, the machine-hybrid made a mental note to cook it for breakfast in a few hours, though he was unsure if he would even wake up the next day. Too much in these games had transpired already, they alone had wiped out quite a bit of the dead themselves, hopefully it wouldn?t continue on this path. They all needed their rest, but yet, they were always on the move, clearing themselves from danger only to find themselves within moments of another brawl. Suddenly, the realization that they no longer had the G.P.S. brought a whole new feeling of anguish, not only were they tired, but they were walking around blindly.

The trio broke away from their camp and began what would be a short trip towards unfamiliar territory. Keeping his eyes glued to Trunks and Kami, Thirteen could have sworn that he could feel the emotion pouring from these two warriors. It was a strange feeling to the droid, these men were contestants in a tournament to the death, but yet they locked relationships with others that surely had to die in the end.

?Where are we going?? asked the elder Namekian, breaking the machine?s thoughts.

?We?re looking for my father.? spoke Trunks, then he snarled. ?And him.?

Thirteen rushed in front of the Sayajin and Namekian, sure he would die for them, but he wasn?t exactly looking to commit suicide. As if the halfling could read the droids mind, Trunks smiled and turned to Kami, who quickly caught on.

?Think about it this way,? started Kami and he placed a hand on the androids shoulder and continued their journey. ?We could sit out here, waiting for the next batch of contestants to jump us and because Goten is no longer with us, I suppose that he was jumped from behind, meaning that there are others coming this way. Alone we are weak and tired and very low on numbers, but if we team up with Reijin and Vegeta, we then stand a chance at survival.?

It didn?t take long for the android?s CPU to compute this calculation and it would seem that the Namekian was correct, their chances of survival were greater than if they were to stray off alone. Nodding and returning to his quiet nature, Thirteen followed the Sayajin and Namekian duo into the night. Their journey was to end soon, but the beginning of a new adventure was right around the corner. Soon enemies would become allies and foes would become friends. Together they would avenge their friends deaths and together they would triumph over those that stood against them.

OOC: Holy crap...another post?! Kibbs...go look in our discussion thread...

Memories concern
Like opening the wound
I'm picking me apart again
You all assume
I'm safer in my room
Unless I try to start again

I don't want to be the one
Who battles always choose
Cuz inside I realize
That I'm the one confused

I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
I don't know why I instigate
And say what I don't mean
I don't know how I got this way
I know it's not alright
So I'm breaking the habit
I'm breaking the habit tonight

Trees fell before her like fallen soldiers on the battlefield, taken out with her katana of ki forged from her life?s energy. The woman, fueled with adrenaline and rage, was taking all of this anger, all of the animosity over her actions out on the gentle titans of the forest. They would pay for her insolence, retribution leaking onto the forest floor in the form of their sap.

Her eyes flickered gold, irises narrowing into slits, power riding her muscles as she forced her body to cooperate without shifting into her beast. Her breath came in ragged gasps as each swipe of her ki toppled oak after oak, her feet bounding off one trunk to the other, making her way further away from Super Buu and the rest of the party.

She wasn?t pissed at them. She wasn?t pissed at anyone but herself for allowing herself to enjoy that kill. It was undeniable the pleasure she gained when that flash of ki, shaped into the form of an arrow, broke through the front of the youth?s skull, the life quickly slipping away, blood pooling around the cranium. The image was so vivid, so real?she could still smell his blood, and she growled. It wasn?t human by any means. She was afraid?and she couldn?t hold back any longer.

As another slice made its way down the center of a sapling, her body flowed with energy, and the beast escaped, her hands transforming once again into complete claws, tipped with razor sharp talons that quickly took the place of the Hellfire Dagger, swiping the trunks into shreds. She felt her canines extend well past her bottom lip, gently nudging her chin with its pointed ends. The deadly points of horns emerged from her temples, incomplete, but there nonetheless. When all was said and done, she had reverted back to that monster she had been before, the physical embodiment of all the horrid, despicable things she had done in her illustrious life.

?Violet??

Just as her claws ripped through the butter-like skin of a maple, she paused, and turned her deformed face towards the voice. The small, pink face was twisted in a mix of curiosity and perhaps a little bit of interest. He managed a weak smile, edging up to her, the lame half leg dangling behind him as his extra set of arms moved him forward. Removing her claws, her breath hissed from between her bared teeth.

?What are you doing out here? I brought something for you.? He held a flask of alcohol in his hand, he had henka?d the drink from a rock just before coming across the woman. He could hear her for at least a good five minutes before stumbling upon her, and figured a little JD would calm her down. He needed to talk to her?not only about last night, but also about that dream. It was pointless to talk to Soups about it, his dimwitted twin wouldn?t listen, anyway.

She only snarled and turned her back, once again, her massive paw descended upon the doomed tree trunk.

He popped the top from the bottle and took a long swig, allowing the drink to slip easily down his throat. ?Tch. Humans.?

That stopped her. Slowly, she turned to face him, hands falling to her sides to twist into gnarled fists. ?Human?my darling Buu, is in the eyes of the beholder.?

He retracted a step, not from fear, but what she had said.

?How can you see anything human about me??

He lifted his chin. So? the woman wanted to play hard. He would have to give it back to her?with interest. He laid the bottle to the side. ?I could ask the same thing.?

Rebuffed, her eyes flickered. ?What are you talking about? You are nothing but a glob of bubblegum on my boot. I can kill you right now.? She moved closer, one taloned finger edging across his throat, but the majin showed no fear. She chuckled low, primal. ?You have no idea what humanity is, boy.?

He stood straight, eyes level with hers. She hadn?t realized before now how close in height they were. It was almost unnerving, and at the same time, she knew he was no child. The look that moved past his red rimmed eyes was the look of a man. She took his bait.

Violet?s face lowered to his, her nose barely an inch above where his should have been. ?I could kill you, you know that, don?t you??

He nodded. ?You could. But then again, would you have the balls to do it??

?You don?t want to push me, Kibbles.? She spat the pet name out like a bad piece of meat.

He leaned in, the very front of his body touching hers. ?And if I do??

Her breath danced across his lips, scent playing along his tongue as he inhaled her. Dunhan was definitely taking too much control, he was enjoying this.

?Kid?? She was seeing Super?s face now. It was no longer the child. Everything she felt about his older counterpart spilled out of her like rain as she took that last movement that pushed the two together, monster to monster, they connected.

Her eyes closed as her lips trickled across his, a small whimper escaping from her throat. She needed more of a release than this, but even now, she was pushing the boundaries of what she thought was personal and intimate. Tearing away from him, she straightened herself, and acted as if nothing had happened.

?Like I said. Don?t fucking push me.?

Kid picked the forgotten bottle of alcohol, lifted it to his lips, and drank deep. What the hell just happened?

He had drained almost half of the flask before he had an idea. He was tired of being pushed around by the woman; if anything, he should be the one pushing her around. In fact, as he sat the bottle down, he had an idea.

?Woman!? he glared at her, power flaring around him. She wanted a fight, practically begging for it. Hell, he was all for it.

As her head twisted to meet his demanding call, a boot met her chin and hurled her backwards into a tree, slamming her metal sheathed spine into the hard bark. She slid down the surface, and ambled to her feet.

?You dirty son of a bitch!? She screamed, and tore after him, the two beings locking in battle. Even with the injured leg, he gave her a run for her money, quickly overpowering the all too cocky female into submission with his four arms, pinning her stomach down to the ground.

?Are you going to calm down now, or am I going to have to go further?? He whispered into her ear. She shivered.

Struggling to regain dominance, and failing, she sighed, and let the power ride itself down. Her body transformed back to normal, breath coming in hard, tired pants.

?Good.?

?What the hell do you want anyway?? She finally said. He released her and allowed the female to rise to her feet.

?Simply for the company. I have?just been having some things that I thought only you would understand.?

Her brows furrowed in contemplation, wondering what the hell the majin wanted to talk to her about that he couldn?t just go to Supes or Seventeen about. Shit?he wasn?t ragging, was he? That would totally fuck up her perception of the midget golem.

?How?s it going? I mean?I don?t know exactly if I can help you or not?but I?ll give it a shot.? Everything that had transpired before suddenly vanished like a morning fog in the afternoon sun, leaving nothing but hazy ground ahead of them.

The majin sighed, picking the bottle up once more, offering her a swig. She took it.

"I am majin, that means I kill. But wait, I'm human, so I don't... but I'm NEITHER... right? What... what am I?!" He spilled at once. It seemed random to her, but somehow, the way he phrased it made her think he had been thinking it over for a while, and yet, he still couldn?t find an answer.

Hell, she couldn?t answer.

They began to walk in silence as time ticked away?midnight was getting closer with each stroke of the clock, and she couldn?t, for the life of her, figure out what the hell he was talking about.

So the silence wouldn?t turn awkward, she replied, ?Technically, you?re not human. But with Dunhan in you, you aren?t exactly majin, either. You are a hybrid now.

?A nameless hybrid.? He spat to the side. ?I?d rather shove my foot up a cripple?s ass.?

She held back the chuckle, and responded, ?Well, could always call you Kibbles, our special Midget.? With that, she punched him playfully in the arm.

?Stop it.? He groaned. ?I am serious.?

Sobering, she kicked at a stray rock in her path. Even though he would never comprehend the depths of her complex life, she had to identify with him. She wasn?t entirely human, herself anymore. It was somewhere between android and monster, but what the world saw was only human. That would be the only thing they saw.

?Perhaps,? she began, the words forming in her mind before she said them, ?The answer you are looking for isn?t something you can easily understand. It lacks words, its just?there. It is up to you to find out what that is.?

?Why? Why me? Can?t you just tell me??

?No.? Not when I am searching for myself what I am. ?It?s not that easy.?

He pulled a cigarette from behind and lit it.

?Can I have one?? It wasn?t like her at all, but for some strange reason, she felt random tonight.

Well, Kid Buu thought idly to himself. That wasn't exactly how I thought it was going to go down at all. He silently offered the packet of cigarettes to Violet, a small flick of the wrist shoving one of them up invitingly towards her waiting hand. His alliance mate accepted it, and he let out a soft sigh as he puffed on his, drawing on it with a long, resigned breath that seemed to well up from his core. No, a kiss had not at all been even close to any of his expected results. Tendrils of smoke writhed lazily in the air in front of him, coiling like snakes as he pondered over the cause.

Violet was obviously on her period.

"I... I don't mean to sound like I'm whining about it, but can you even imagine what it's like?" he murmured, lifting his blood-red irises to the woman's face. "To be immortal, and then to have that taken away? You know, I think my fath-" He stopped. "My creator said it best. 'You are not them, my Buu. They, them, they age, they crumble, they die. But you, you live on.' That phrase has always stuck with me." As was his usual habit when musing, he absentmindedly flicked a trail of ashes onto the ground beside him, wildly disregarding the ecology of the island and the danger that an arsonophobic bear named Smokey might at this very moment get on his ass for starting a forest fire.

Violet let her cig hang idly between pointer and middle fingers, obviously as comfortable with it as she was with combat. "Maybe you're making a bigger deal out of this than you really need to, Kid," she returned, just as quiet. She shifted on her seat. "I mean, if you die here, it's not like you really die." She shook her head and gently frowned at him. "Once you're off this island, you'll be back to normal. Well-" she eyed him. "About as normal as you can ever get, I mean. Being human isn't so bad a thing as you might think."

"Let's head back."

"Alright."

"And Violet?"

:"Hm?"

"... Thanks."

OOC: Meaningful song lyrics go here. Ahahahah I?m such a bastard XD

Whizz-thuk!

The body fell forward instantly, without so much as a groan of pain. Super Buu cursed irritably at the ease with which the guy had dropped - he?d been looking for a good fight. He rushed forwards, brushing past Violet in the futile hope that the guy might still be alive. When he saw the body, however, his eyes widened in surprise and shock. ?Holy shit!? he exclaimed. ?Goten!?

It was unmistakable. As he turned the body over onto its front, he saw the glazed over eyes of the one he had met before the tournament. The arrow, it?s ki-charged tip still glowing faintly, had come through his forehead. A breath of air escaped the majin?s lips. He wasn?t sure what to think. To the others, it was just another competitor, but to Buu ? well, Goten had showed him friendliness before the tournament. The half-saiyan had even taught him how to craft a sword using Metal Binding. It didn?t seem fitting to see such a masterful warrior go down without even putting up a fight.

His eyes flicked over the item his dead acquaintance had been holding. Some kind of ? scanner. He picked it up and held it to the light. It showed five dots. It was surprising that Goten hadn?t seen them coming. Then again, from the looks of the body, he?d already been fairly injured. Why wasn?t he with Trunks or anyone else? Perhaps he was the only survivor of some terrible battle, and Trunks was already dead.

Guess I?ll never know, now ? thought Buu, pocketing the item and turning away from the fresh corpse. Human remains didn?t bother the monster - he?d seen them plenty of times before. But it was different when it was someone you knew.

As his thoughts lay on the resting body, a cold hand reached out to touch his arm. He jerked it away instinctively, despising the feel of human contact.

?Don?t touch me, fleshbag,? he growled, knowing that Violet had come to talk to him. He didn?t want to talk. He was sick of talking to them, having to listen to their petty troubles. They were bringing him down to their level, filling his mind with concerns and worries that he didn?t need, and never would need. The only person he needed was himself.

?Buu ? I am sorry ? did you know him??

The majin didn?t grace her with a response. He was irritated with her, for not giving Goten a chance to show his strength. He deserved a more honourable death than being shot through the back of a head, and Buu would have given it to him. To die in battle is one thing, but this ? this was cold-blooded assassination. He heard Violet move away, in shame, and relaxed. The woman would no doubt go off on another emotional rampage, but he didn?t particularly care at this point. He?d had more than enough of people for today.

The battle had definitely left the Saiya-jin king worn out. His wrist was broken from the heat of combat, a suitable wound for a fighter of his caliber. ?At least I?m not dead.? He told himself over and over again. That?s right, he was still in this tournament, he was still breathing, his lungs would inflate with the oxygen of Dante?s Abyss with every moment of life. The medical kit Reijin used on him appeared to be working. To use it on such a wound though seemed almost like a waste, but he understood where his Saiya-jin counter part was coming from. He?d rather have them both at full capacity in order to stay in alive against the other groups out there.

The battle they fought was a close one, many had fallen, and Vegeta feared that he would be the cause of Reijin?s death had Bujin not interfered. He was unsure if he?d be able to handle the pressure of being the cause of an ally once again. Reijin was no less than family to the king, and he would treat him in the same fashion as Trunks. However, Reijin and Trunks were at a disagreement with each other. Sibling rivalry it appeared to be, and Vegeta couldn?t do anything about it.

What was Trunks?s thoughts on this though, why did he hate Reijin so much. More than likely they had their own squalls in the past in order to bring this up. The medical kit was taking more of an effect now. Vegeta could feel the pain subside and he was able to deal with the condition on his wrist. Fighting was what he was all about, and even without the use of his ligament, he wouldn?t give up, die fighting if need be.

Vejita turned back to his son. "I'll agree to the terms," he spoke slowly. "You are right. We both sustained heavy losses. Any treachery will result in blood, understand?" His agreement to the alliance was very thought through. He?d rather be fighting with Reijin and Trunks on the same side, rather then be on the other end and have to choose between his two ?children?. Should fate take it?s toll and it turned out that the final battle would be between he and his son, there would be no holding back. Vegeta was in this to win, whether he had to fight Trunks or not.

Trunks nodded at his father and 13 blinked apathetically. "Agreed." The thought of a truce wasn?t their first option, however it was the best. Many groups populated Dante?s Abyss, and even though Vegeta hasn?t crossed paths with the beast, he knew Raditzu was out there, waiting for the time that they could come eye to eye once more. No doubt he was in a group with other great fighters, such as that android woman he?s come to hate.

There was still tension in the area between the newly formed group, however the elder Namek broke the tension quickly. He walked up and placed his arms around both the Saiya-jin king and prince, guiding them away from the others and talking in a low tone for their ears to listen. ?Hey, now that we are all friends, I?m sure the two of you have a lot to talk about. We cleared up most of this before the tournament, so I?m sure there are no hard feelings, right? I mean, remember the campfires XT used to have when I was there?? His smile was kind of refreshing for the king to see. He hadn?t seen happiness since he saw Reijin?s Saibaman chasing after a small butterfly. Children are so easily amused.

Vegeta knew Kami from long ago, and this Namek wasn?t one to mess around with. Sure he looked old, but damn his wrinkles could definitely pack a punch. The memories of even longer ago began to take form. Majin Vejita?needless to say that power was welcome back any day. For some time he felt as if he would loose control to the Majin power, however it granted him something of greater value then life. Friends and foes were made that day up on the look out, relations that would stick for a lifetime.

Android 13 was resting under a tree with a guitar in front of his healing wound. The injury he received from the previous battle was large, however the medical kit was used on him as well and he would seem to be recovering. Vegeta was glad that he wasn?t the one shot in the stomach, for his insides were made of blood and tissue, not metal and fragments. His eyes turned over finally to his son. ?You?ve grown.?

?Hm?? Trunks grunted to his elder, ?time passes father.?
