Well as the date approaches, we're going to have to devise at least some initial strategy to go off of during the early stages of this game. I know Kid Buu and I talked in kinda-length about this, so I'd appreciate if he added that to here for clarity.

One major idea is to consider the prospect of an alliance, either at the beginning or some point later. With four armies, it's something that may well happen at some point. I'd rather avoid it at first, but imagine we take one army out, and then the surviving two team up against us? That would suck hardcore.
Other than that, everyone should read the 'Starting Bases' thread to get the idea of our land. Note that we have a peninsula, which makes for good protection of our base.
As for our how we begin the game, what do you guys think? Build up first?

I'm only a soldier so I'm not sure how much of a say I will have in this matter.
I'd prefer to sit back and build up while being defensive.
We could have a small offensive push like the ones below:

I think we should make a point of fortifying our territory first, make sure to setup supply lines and forts on our border before we start going out to claim more territory.

Sounds good to me. Since we have The Ultimate Peninsula Defense!!! I think the best way is to remain defensive whilst building up. At the same time, we should have people stationed at the borders to defend our territory and stop people getting through whilst building there. We also have to consider taking neutral territory, which will be a great boon. However, if we're going to do that, we don't want to 'do a Hitler' and split our forces in two. Let's just focus on getting one neutral territory and spread from there.
So here's my vague idea for the beginning:
Some people focus on building near our castle, whereas other units head out to the borders, skipping over the rest of our land. As soon as they reach the border, they build. I think we should also have one larger group sent out to claim neutral territory to either the East or South.
But that of course begs the question: how many units do we get, and what's everyone's 'starting point'? Also, what are we gonna build? Towers, villages? I'ma check the list out now and see.

You get as many units as the commander wants. The more you split the army up, the more units you can get.
Everyone starts at the castle.
The rest of those questions is on you guys

Super Buu told me to put this map up, um, pretty much I was wondering what you guys think building wise should go where?
I put down a fort and tower at D4 and implemented what spaces the tower woul allow us to see to give us a better understanding. It's not official, just my opinion on that square. When you guys give me idea's for the other squares, I'll add them to the map above.

You wouldn't be able to see F-3 or C-6, dunno why you got those highlighted.
You can only see two squares away in each direction for a tower. All other bases, like villages or forts, can only see one square away.

How is it now Burter? Tower description said 2 blocks away from all directions so I just did a box centered at the tower 2 box outwards. >.<
(Just refresh the page if you can't see the changes in the map above to see them.)

It's fine now.
The best way is to do two down, two up, two left, two right, etc etc

I'm guessing if that diagram is accurate that you're including diagonals in the two space thing?

Read it all. I was gonna ask why villages take longer to build than checkpoints, which are better, but then I saw that checkpoints are less space-efficient.
*thumbs up*
Tell me, though ... if you come across an undefended building in enemy, how long would it take to make it your own? Assuming the army doesn't come to its aid.

Hmm, since Fortresses are the best base, should we build one up in A3?

Depends on the base, the size of your unit, the roleplaying and the characters/NPCs

I think most of you guys are right when you say we should manage our own positions first. We should fortify, make sure logistics go smooth and otherwise consolidate our position. Once our base is stable enough, we can advance either towards the grey or the red area. I don`t know the colours of the other armies, but we should definitly avoid attacking Dante. Other armies will be somehow managable but Dante represents a serious force and is going to take a lot to defend against. The fortifying of the border should be concentrated towards Dante.
We should do the switch from defending to attacking when the other armies reach our borders. That way, they will be overstretched and we can take on them.
However, when expanding territory we should be careful not to overstretch ouselves in a certain direction otherwise we might get flanked or even cut off.

Burter, in squares B1 through D1, seeing as how there's only a bit of land there, are we confined to only using buildings that take up like .125-.5 of the square in those spots?

Yea, that's only a 1/4 of land

In order to defend our teritory the best, we need people to go to D-2, A-4, and D-4, and make fortresses. These three spots are are the best area's to be attacked. As Cell Jr. said, enemies can hug the water and cut right into our borders, and D-4 is closest to the middle. Once we get these area's, we can begin to build the last three area's of our borders.
