The ruling on a member choosing death for their character has been changed. Now, suicide of your character is allowed. However, because of the nature of the suicide, your character will not be able to go to King Kai's during his stay in the Afterlife for that specific death. More than likely, he will go to HFIL, but that depends on the factors surrounding the suicide.
Also, when two members clash in a deathmatch, they can now both decide the outcome of that fight, instead of leaving it entirely up to a Staff member. If both members agree, for example, that one of their character's should die for the sake of storyline and such, then this is allowed. It is always best to check with a Staff member, though, just to make sure everything runs smoothly. Staff members still reserve the right to govern fights in sagas, regardless of whether or not both members agree on a certain outcome.
These changes have been made to give you, the member, more control over your character and his/her dealings as they walk this fictional world.
Until this change has been edited into the rules on the Main Page, this Announcement will remain as a reminder.
Any questions?

Is it safe to assume that alliance fights and such can still be judged by a staffer, should the members want?

All members of a fight must agree to a specific outcome for it to be considered. If one member of the fight disagrees, then a Staff Member MUST be called in.
Also, Staff reserve the right to step in on any fight whatsoever if the need arises, regardless of whether or not everyone agrees. But these will be exceptional cases.

So, there is NO chance of a player-crafted death resulting in being able to go to the North Kai's?

That's just for suicides.
You DO have a greater chance of reaching King Kai's if you die in a saga, or a Staff-mediated fight, however.

Edit: You answered my second question.

Yes.
It would be horrendously impractical, however, to connive to have yourself killed in order to reach King Kai's. The only reason I'm saying it is possible is because there might be a few exceptional instances in which we'll want to grant King Kai access.
I'm not saying you'd do this Yamu. I'm just throwing it out there for the record. =p

I got ya. I was just wondering because the only way for non-transformers to get their power-up is to die unlike all the other races. I was seeing if the rule change was also being made to help players who are ready for KK but there might not be a Saga or anything soon. Just curious.
Edit: You can put my question back in so everyone else knows what we are talking about in my last post.

I don't remember what the question was. =p
Remember, though, that non-transformers can buy their power-up. That Enhanced Bio Suit.

While true the Enhanced Bio Suit as well as Spiritken only count as a 1st tier. To advance to second they will still need to die and train through Kaioken before being able to achieve Super Kaioken.
I think the question was 'Can you being considered for the North Kai's planet if you are killed in a fight with another member that the two of you decide on the outcome of.'

It's hard enough to get Second Tier period. Anyone who's worthy of it will almost inevitably have already been to KK's.

It's arguably whether or not 2 years of intense roleplaying is worthy of a second tier.

When you guys say "2 years of intense role-playing", do you mean quality posts, or simply 1 million pages of mediocrity?

I really don't think you can make a written in stone rule for stuff like that. Power-ups are definitly a case by case basis here. I would be pissed if it bacame 'After one year of full activity you get 1st tier...after"
Yeah...that would suck.

Well...I certainly think it is. But i mean its gotta be good. Just not average. They've gotta be active, and have the will to do it. Im sure someone could do it.
EDIT: damn you posting while im posting guys. No im not saying having it like that. Where after a year you get tier 1. Im saying if someone really worked for it, I bet it could be done.

Gokua...and towards the general discussion in the two or three posts above it talking about Time In Grade as a way of detrmining power-ups.

Anyone that can make their way through all of King Kai and Grand Kai's quests is worthy of Tier 2, in my opinion. In the past year I think only one person has successfully made it through all King Kai's quests, and nobody has ever made it through all of Grand Kai's as far as I know.
Btw, it's always possible for staff to just give out SKK. It's never happened before, but Krillin was the first person to spontaneously get Kaioken without doing the quests. So you can't rule it out for SKK.
Oh, and good ruling. >_> I'm for it.

But we can still get someone with instant transmission(or teleportation) to bounce us to KK's planet and hope he'll train us? Even without dying?
