It was announced today that Chris Beniot and his wife and son were found dead in their home in Atlanta.
Beniot was one of the best wrestlers to ever live and is possibly the hardest working professional wrestler in the entire business. If you've heard of him, please show respect here and give a moment of personal silence.
If anyone in here thinks it'll be fun to crack a joke or spam, I swear I'll ban you as fast and as long as I can. If you can't show respect, don't even post.

I was just about to make this thread, but was still too in shock talking to alot of people about it and my gf. SHE knows who he is and doesn't even care about wrestling.

I went to a WCW PPV with a sign that read: "The Human Chainsaw / The Canadian Crippler / The Wolverine / Chris Benoit"
He always has and always will be my favorite TV personality.

In a time when everyone was using steroiods to get ahead, Beniot refused and fought on his own. That alone is worth respect.

The thing about Beniot was he never needed a gimmick to get ahead. He tried Pegasus Kid. He tried nWo. He tried Radicalz.
But regardless of what shitty gimmick they threw on him, he was just SO GOD DAMN GOOD that he came out shining regardless

I was already talking to my gf about that. About how they never had him in the "spotlight" as the "big deal of the moment" tier 1 match, but he somehow always stole the show. He never had "some big personal fued" or not very often so much as "I'm here to do my job. This is your ass. Bye."

I'm just glad he did manage to win a WWE World title before this happened. He can take that with him.

He didn't even need a damn mic. He stepped in the ring and people went "woah... now there's a badass."
For those who weren't aware, btw, there's been an official "Chris Benoit Day" in Edmonton (the town he grew up in) for the past three years.

Amen to that Burt. I've always been a big wrestling fan, in fact my dad, uncle and granddad hated the fact I would never ever ever watch a football game. I instead opted for WWF or WCW lol. I was just that kind of kid...
For the record I did start watching football my senior year of high school so I guess I'm not too weird lol.
Benoit and Eddie were the two best wrestlers to step foot in the ring. I'm looking at the tribute now...both men holding WWE titles and hugging eachother in the ring. Just priceless man...priceless.
It just goes to show you that tommrow is not promised, I can understand how the wrestlers are feeling, they just saw their friend a day or so ago and now he's gone in the blink of an eye.

Yea, one of the best moments in professional wrestling. And I say that not because it was Beniot, but because they finally recognized two men who were never given fair shakes at championships. It just goes to show that hard work CAN pay off

Work at CNN should be interesting tomorrow. We tend to cover the local breaking news situations a bit more than those further away from homebase. Its so wierd that a guy I grew up watching was murderd along side his family a few miles from where I was when it happened... RIP

Wrestling won't be the same without him. He wasn't one with all kinds of drama BS around him like alot of the wrestlers, he loved what he did and did it well. He was like the silent keynote in a song, the bridge, that brings the whole peice together. You'll be missed. <3

I don't really like wrestling..
However I have to pay my respects to a man who didn't simply follow the crowd and take the cheap route to become as good as he did. Also, its a shame that he died. I mean, it's always sad whenever another human dies, let alone someone who acheived so much in life.

They haven't given any details about the death of Benoit or his family. The only thing I've seen, that's even close to a detail, is that no guns were involved.

Although I only watch wrestling occasionally and never really follow it, I was a fan of his. Not a big fan, but a fan. What he showed the people in the ring was him; it was real. He didn't need to be 'the most electrifying man' or a hulk-a-maniac, he just tried his best to make the fans happy. He was a man of stone; a bad ass but a good guy all at the same time....
Hearing what all his peers had to say was...inspirational. I don't know if that sounds weird but it was. Hearing the kind of person he was; not only a few people but to everyone he met. I thought to myself, "Damn, I wanna be like him when I get older." I don't mean that about his physique (although if I had it, I wouldn't complain), I meant it about how he was described. He was said to be caring;self-less and a man of respect. They talked about how he put everything he had into what he did and more. To me that alone earned every ounce of respect I have.
I'm basically rambling now because I tend to talk a lot when I get uncomfortable, so I'm going to stop. Chris Beniot, you will always be remembered and I will always have respect for you. May you along with your son and wife rest in peace.

The WWE site is saying Double Murder-Suicide.
"It has been ruled that the deaths of Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and their son Daniel earlier today were the result of a double murder-suicide from within the home."
Really sad, he was awesome.

I havn't watched wrestling for years, but when I did he was one of my favorites. It's sad that his whole family died as well. If it was a double murder, who was the murderer?

Eh, to be honest you never know what is going through someone's mind, you cant underestimate what they might do...but I dont realy beleive it either...I mean its more like I dont want to then I dont, know what I mean?
