Anybody see it yet? I saw it tonight and thought it was pretty good. Will Smith was amazing as always, but it should have been more about him vs. the zombies. It was a zombie movie without being a zombie movie... I guess.
There was one scene where Smith talks about Bob Marley. It was amazing. And towards the end, not to spoil anything, but a zombie is banging his head against some glass. There was about 3 seconds of body language and facial expression on the zombies part that was PURE PWNAGE.

So... there are zombies? I never caught the plot of the movie from the trailers. All I gathered was that Will Smith and a dog are alone in an over grown New York city.

The whole concept is "the last man on earth is not alone". There are a couple commercials that show zombie/undead things fighting him, etc. It's, essentially, a zombie movie, but it was more about other shit than killing the zombies. wtf

Dood. Wtf indeed.
Concept is intriguing though. I'm still holding out till the creature/horror flick shot in that 'Blare Witch Project' perspective hits theaters. That looked good.

So did the actually get the point of the story, or did they just churn out another action flick after tossing it through the action hero formulator?

Actually, it was less action-packed this time around. Don't get me wrong, there was action here and there, but it was mostly focused on conveying the story.

At first I thought it was a commentary on playing god, did anyone else get that from it? But then I realized it's just a good ol fashioned sci-fi/horror flick. Good movie, a little creepy though, which is probably what they intended.

So they actually showed how the main character was in truth the villain of the story, and had become a mythical monster to the infected? Or did the wuss out with some craptacular ending?

It's okay.
Surprised we didn't get to hear the line
"AW HELL NAW!" as he's getting shot at and running away or something.
Oh well.
Good movie, I thought.

SPOILERS!!!
He wasn't the antagonist, just to clarify. And no, nothing like becoming a mythical monster happened either. xD They guy's a virologist who's been isolated on Manhattan for 3 years, slowly going insane from the isolation. He's trying to cure this virus that had came from this 'miracle cancer cure' that created this virus that killed 90% of the population on Earth, while turning the rest of the people into carnivorous, light-sensitive monsters. Only 1% of the rest of the population it completely unaffected, including him. So in a way mankind was the antagonist.

I think it's a graphic novel.

Oh, wait, I think I get what Josh is talking about now. They explored that part a little in the story, but nothing was ever stated out loud. They kinda left it open for interpretation.

After having read up on the book on wikipedia, I'm suddenly a lot more interested in this film. I'll try and see it when I can.

I just watched it. Pretty enjoyable film, nothing Earth shattering though. More of a horror film than I expected it to be.

Don't be hatin' just cause I don't go and watch films on the exact day of their release. >.>
Anyway, you guys need to know MY opinion of the film before you can truly move on. And now you have it.

Did you watch both endings? Which one did you prefer?
Alternate ending ftw, imo.
