Season's Best
#1
A little something I wrote for English class.

-------------------------

Season's Best

With this Autumnal Equinox
Comes this perpetual Paradox:
After the Eve of the Peak of Life
Should come its nagging, wasteful Wife.
And when She brings poor Summer down,
She rides to the Season's on crimson gown,
And does the rest to Summer's work,
Changing it into a dying mirk.
And so she keeps it ready for Winter
And that Ghost's caustic splinter.
Yet the promise of the coming Spring
Keep's good hope in everything.

It is pretty good, but it seem sliek you went too much out of you way to rhyme.
"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl."

Perhaps. It felt natural putting it down on paper as such, but I was a bit strained considering we had to do it as couplets, and I tried my best to resist the simple "way" and "day" rhymes, and all relatives.
