A hole in my dirt, plant the seed
Does it belong, but ask it not
Through cloud and rain and without sun
Grows, reaches out of me and stays
It blooms, she's so beautiful, flower of my heart
Still, gentle love, her scent lures me
Below her, watching with hope
I give her life, she gives me light
Roots deep and I give to her
The birds regales of tales with us
Successful, grow a rose
And trim it from the dirt below
Of what I am
And smell, love fills the lungs
And leaves so useless, degraded
Placed in a vase, with water inside
Preserved and distilled
Fragile petals turn black
The luscious red of her lips is no more
And wilts, weeps without you
Does it belong, but ask it not
Through cloud and rain and without sun
Grows, reaches out of me and stays
It blooms, she's so beautiful, flower of my heart
Still, gentle love, her scent lures me
Below her, watching with hope
I give her life, she gives me light
Roots deep and I give to her
The birds regales of tales with us
Successful, grow a rose
And trim it from the dirt below
Of what I am
And smell, love fills the lungs
And leaves so useless, degraded
Placed in a vase, with water inside
Preserved and distilled
Fragile petals turn black
The luscious red of her lips is no more
And wilts, weeps without you
