This is a story based off a wrestling simulator I've been playing. Tap convinced me to bring it here to see the response. If you guys like it I'll continue posting it over on Chubbs
--------
We had been planning this for a long time. Ever since the three of us left high school, this had been our dream, to make a wrestling federation from the ground up.
Okay, okay, let me back up.
My name is Rebnik DesTerek. I'm a geek. My two best friends, Will and Tami, and myself had always wanted to run out own business. All of us being very involved in wrestling, this was what we decided to do. Tami and I got married at 19, so things were postponed, but now here at 21 we were ready to rock the town.
Thanks to some inheritance on my part, Will's already rich background, and Tami's insane business sense, we managed up enough money and contacts to get the ball rolling.
So with that said, I present to you Ground Zero Wrestling, the best fed you've never heard of.
September 2005
Okay, so maybe I wasn't quite ready for something like this. I mean, I knew it would require hard work, determination, and a strong business sense. But I thought I could make someone else do it.
So I sat playing my playstation 2 when an obviously annoyed Tami slammed the door open.
Tami: Get dressed
Reb: Eh, shit! Goddamnit, Tami, I was doing good!
Tami: You scheduled the staff interviews, right? Well you have to do them!
Reb: Uh...just sign them all?
Tami: No, you better do it. Most of them keep hitting on me. They arn't the most professional looking bunch.
Reb: *sigh* Okay, fine, whatever, I'll be out.
For the next hour I endured the most fucked up trial and error interviews I'd ever encountered. You name it, I got it. A prostitute for a medic, Shania Laurent. A bartender and a wanna-be comedian agreed to be our ring announcers( Mark Tegland and Laughing Larry). Our production manager was an ex-convict, Bruno Leclerc, who was only signed because I was scared out of mind of the guy. My road agent was Sarah Standish who was one of those sexy russian chicks you get in a bride order magazine. Tami didn't appreciate the fact I was drawn to the woman's chest, and I doubt she'll be happy to know the chest was an important factor in signing the woman.
There was good news, however. Jason McCord turned out to be a decent enough guy, a student at the college Tami went to. He agreed to be our referree. We ended up not hiring a writer, since I figured Will, my best friend, could handle shouting orders to six or seven wrestlers.
Speaking of wrestlers, the next day was the try out. We actually got more people then I expected, about twenty or so. We couldn't afford to get any more then eight, so I was going to have to do some cutting. To add onto my difficulties, because everyone would be staying at the house (it was big, but still, these are wrestlers), we had to make sure they weren't gonna kill us in our sleep.
I already promised a friend of mine a spot on the roster. He was the only person there that had never wrestled before, but thanks to some theatre classes, Jagged could pull off a success based solely on his charisma. He was pretty good at over dramatizing stuff, so I gave him a gothic gimmick and had him go buy a skull mask.
I hired a young black man named Kory Williams because he was decent in the ring and he gave me an idea for a gimmick. He used to be a football player, so he play a former football player. I know, doesn't sound as good as I hope it'll be, just bare with me. Because he has low charisma, I put a swimsuit model named Vanessa at his side, who would play a country gal from the mountains.
I didn't care much for Stevie Fabulous, but Will was absolutely thrilled with his performance. The guy was quick but he wasn't the best person for the job. Either way, Will is an owner too, so I hired him and called him Silly Stevie who would play a psycho with a split personality.
I scooped up Jeff Rocker since he played a decent heel and I needed one. Not to mention my dog liked him. Either way, he'll be the cocky heel, Jeff Flame.
Adam Polock I took because he was already very well known in my Tennessee area. His charisma isn't too good but hey, if he can wrestle then he's okay in my book. He'll be Tidal Wave the comic book hero!
To round up my random list of makeshift wrestlers, I found Hardcore Ninja #1. He's a 19 year old canadian who apparantly wanted to play a japanese ninja with his brother, Evil Ninja #2. But, unfortunetly, I couldn't afford both so I took him and dubbed him Hardcore Ninja.
I spent a shitload of money on fliers to up my advertising up to 1%. I probably will have to down it next month for the first ever event, I find it nessecary.
In similar news, I got some equipment via Will's attic. An old wrestling mat, ten porch chairs, a wrestling belt (completely fake and plastic), and a small ring bell.
To end the week, I looked online for sponsers. I found four sponsers, all pretty much from similar sites, who were just dumb enough to fund us. Two were $500 a show, and two were $1,000.
With all that done, I will close this entry with the flier to the next event.

GZW BREAKDOWN!
I can't say I expected much, so I wasn't too disappointed when the only people who came were three high school kids and our next door neihbor, which meant only 40 bucks off this event. Oh well, we had no choice but to give em what they wanted -- up close in your face action.
Out first was Kory Williams, the young former pro football player, followed by the sexy Vanessa.
Vanessa: Well, howdy y'all!
The kids start booing her. What the heck? She's supposed to be a face!
Vanessa: Oh, my, my, don't my getting any testy on me yet darlings, I only just arrived.
More booes. Fucking hell, how was I supposed to know people in Tennessee hate redneck gimmicks?
Vanessa: Tonight we're going to have a special night, y'all! My good friend Mr. Kory Williams here is getting his first taste of in-ring action! Isn't that all excitin and stuff? Tell me, Kory, when you win that pretty lil' belt, are you and me gonna get to go out for some of that old fashioned alca'hol.
Kory Williams: Oh you know it baby.
Vanessa: Well by golly I'm am just SO excited now!
My ears stop bleeding when Jagged came out to shut them up and put Kory down.
Jagged: How sickening. When I was told I was going to wrestle I didn't realize there would be so much...light. But no matter, when I finish with you, underling, darkness will rule again.
The kids are eating this shit up. They're booing him, as planned, but he's really got them into it. Maybe it's the skull mask
Kory Williams: Man, just shut the fuck up, freak. Let's dance!
Vanessa was great, but her gimmick hurt it. Jagged saved it. 57%
Kory Williams vs Jagged, World Title Match Qualifier
What Kory lacks in mic skills he more then made up in his ring performance. The match was hardly what one could call good, but it was a decent opener, getting the fans partially involved with a 21% reaction. The match itself was no match of the year, but the stunt with Kory going head first into a tree was gold, 81% freakin quality. After the tree stunt, Kory put Jagged down with a DDT and won it after an acceptable 52% match.
Hardcore Ninja vs Tidal Wave, World Title Match Qualifier
The crowd was behind Tidal Wave the whole way, giving it a 28% crowd reaction, even though the quality was a lower 58%. But still, a decent match with good spots coming from the Hardcore Ninja. Tidal Wave set up for the Tsunami around the end and the Ninja rolled out of it and pushed Tidal Wave into the referree, Jason. While Jason recovered, the crowd ate up the cheap finish: a shovel to the head and a groggy pinfall. The really badly acted referree bump hurt this one. 43% overall, not too bad but still, not too good.
The kids liked Stevie the moment they saw him. He came out and stepped on the mat, all happy and grinning.
Silly Stevie: How are you all doin tonight? Tonight, my friends, is the start of a new legacy. A new era. Not only for the Ground Zero Wrestling, but for me, this man. Tonight I'm gonna face Jeff Flame, and tonight I'm gonna---
Right on cue, out came the ever arrogant, Jeff Flame
Jeff Flame: You'll what, Stevie? Huh? Cat caught your tongue?
Silly Stevie: Hey, man, I don't want trouble...
Jeff Flame: If you can't take the heat, god damnit, get out of the kitchen! Go! No one wants you hear anyway you idiot! I'm the man! This is my legacy! Now get out of my backyard!
Clearly, Stevie was getting pissed, and unleashed his other side
Silly Stevie: God damnit no one yells me at me, Flame! I'll fucking teach you to keep your god damn mouth shut! Now bring it!
The kids are loving it as Stevie knocked Flame down
Only a 54% unfortunetly. Shame, I liked it better then the opener.
Silly Stevie vs Jeff Flame, World Title Match Qualifier
Without the use of weapons, the crowd settled down just a notch with a 25% crowd reaction. A good back and forth match going all over the backyard, it settles a 68 match quality. Stevie shows good aerial assault by leaping off the hot tub. The match did struggle a bit though, as it dragged on towards the end where Flame taunted the split personality character. While he taunted, Stevie gained his energy, and hit a neckbreaker for the win. A decent 51 overall.
After sending the cocky oppenent back, Silly Stevie was enraged, all fired up. His crazy side was clearly out.
Silly Stevie: Come on Williams! Come on Ninja! I'm ready! Bring all the weapons you got! We're gonna blow this backyard to hell! Enough of Mr. Nice Guy, enough of the Mr. Play It Safe. The fans want some action, let's fucking give it to them!
I should give him a manager, he's alittle over the top. Only a 54.
Silly Stevie vs Hardcore Ninja vs Kory Williams, Hardcore Match for the GZW World Title
The highest crowd reaction yet at 33%, the three high school kids all over this match. Kory's speed, Ninja's hardcore battle, and Stevie's craziness made this the best match of the night. Still, though, wasn't exactly good, but for a backyard match I take pride in the workers. The match itself was mainly Stevie and Ninja, Kory getting bundled aside to and fro. Stevie took a couple DDTs on the concrete the wrong way and ended up bruised, but nothing too serious. Kory was put out early by being knocked off the hot tub with a shovel via the Ninja. After a good 71 hardcore bout, it was Silly Stevie who turned the tables on the Ninja. A lawn chair to the head and Stevie was the first World Champion!
The overall rating of the night was 51. Like just about the rest of the night, not too good but certainly not too bad. I'm proud of the first show and hope I'll look back and remember watching Kory fall into the hot tub after getting knocked with a shovel.

I started the month off by making more fliers. I know, I know, I said I'd lower it, but hey, it worked and my fiancial advisor(Will) is okay with it. So I kept it.
Tami suggested getting someone who is more into the business to sign with us, since all of us were young. So, I hired Villano V, who was quickly renamed The Masked Power. He was a luchadore straight outta Mexico. Since he couldn't talk worth shit, I hired Lulu from Tami's school for him, and renamed her Christina, the firey latina.
My good friend Jagged is working for the IWF now, but he's gonna do both feds at once so we still get him. He's just not living with us. In other news, NWA:TNA went global, and most of their workers got onto a written contract. NWA-W however is having a harder time. They had to cancel their show because of low funds. So were ECCW and APW.
A handy feature I'll give every now and then is show you some things about the workers at GZW.
SPEED!
1. Silly Stevie
2. Hardcore Ninja
3. Jagged
4. Kory Williams
5. Masked Power
6. Jeff Flame
7. Tidal Wave
Besides all this good stuff, it was a quiet month at the GZW house. We all had our own jobs to do. I ran a store with Will, Tami in school, plus running a house with 8 extra people was difficult. It was uneventful, but tough.
Without futher ado, here is what you might be looking forward to if you're bored.

GZW End of Days
I was happily surprised at the turn-up. Most of them were high-up school kids, but that wasn't too bad. We had a total of twelve people buy tickets for our show, which got the wrestlers more into it too!
First out was Jagged, who did his best to shut up the booes, but the kids were into it already.
Jagged: Shut up, shut up, shut up! Why can't I ever get my time, huh? All I ask for this world was a little attention! But no...nobody listens. No one wants me. No one wants a man with a skull on his face. But that's okay...I don't need you clowns anyway. I'll put your hero down, and I will be the hero! Me! Me! HAHAHA!
Yea, it spooked me a bit too. 52, not too good.
Tidal Wave vs Jagged
The crowd got into it for everyone's favorite hero, Tidal Wave for a 27% crowd reaction. Tidal controlled the first part of the battle, but a strategically placed low blow gave Jagged the advantage. It was a decent match for the most part, at least passable on backyard standards, scoring a 63 match quality. Jagged ended up puting Tidal Wave down for a 45% match, the best yet!
After the match, Tidal Wave went to meet a few of his fans, but Jagged knocked him from behind! Right there in front of the fans, Jagged beat down their hero and walked off pleased.
Vanessa came out after Tidal Wave limped off.
Vanessa: Hello y'all!
Not too bad this time, the crowd is liking her.
Vanessa: Tonight we're gonna see a good friend o' mine, Kory Williams, prove that it should be HIM in that there title match tonight! Am I right?! *agreement from the crowd* Well, ladies and gentlemen, here he is, former pro football player, the best wrestler in the biz, Kory Williams!
Kory Williams came out to a 60%, a great promo with great reaction.
Kory Williams vs Hardcore Ninja
A 32% crowd combined with a 78% match makes me one happy guy. This is the second great match Kory put on for me, so I can't complain. Ninja proved to be a good wrestler even without weapons. The duo took it up onto the hot tub where Williams plowed a rock bottom type move onto the mat, but it only got two. Hardcore Ninja tried to use a lawn chair, but a fan got involved by pushing him off. Rather then get pissed, Ninja played it out and acted distracted. However as he was turning around, out came Masked Power to save the day! Kick, wham, DDT! Williams stood up, unsure of what to make of the new comer, but he suffered the same fate! Masked Ninja laid everyone out, and the 55% match is a draw!
The fans booed Masked Power as he took center stage. Christina came out to join him, looking sexy and seductive.
Christina: Hey, hey, hey, watch who you filthy american's be booing, a'ight?!
Needless to say, more booes.
Masked Power: Show some respect!
Christina: No, no, I got this baby. Tonight we'll show these stupid pintos who means business. These two losers don't deserve to be in OUR backyard. Jeff Flame is next to feel the wrath of the one and only, Masked Power!
56, I'm dancing right now.
[i]Jeff Flame vs Masked Power, #1 Contendership.
I don't know what happened. An 11% crowd reaction, in other words everyone just didn't pay attention. I'm pretty sure they all took smoke breaks during this segment for whatever reason. Pity, because the two put on a great 71% match quality. The huge masked brawler sent Flame into a tree at one point, but was promptly countered into the same tree. It ended up with Flame reversed a DDT into a painful looking death valley driver, scoring the win and the 41% overall. Oh well...can't win them all.
Flame promptly got the stage as more people settled in.
Jeff Flame: Hey, sit the fuck down! I'm talking now! *plenty of boo's* That's right, go ahead, boo me. It won't save Stevie tonight. It won't stop me from winning that title. I deserve it! Me! Not Stevie, not Williams, but me! Stop hiding from me, Stevie, I'm waiting for you...I want my match NOW!
Stevie doesn't come
Jeff Flame: If you don't come out right now, I'm going to come after you! I'm the best there ever was, and it's my god damn time to prove it!
Best promo yet, a 63 makes me love Jeff Flame.
Jeff Flame vs Silly Stevie?, GZW World Championship, Hardcore Match
Stevie is currently in his more passive state, much to the dismay of the crowd. Flame dominates to start, but the crowd keeps cheering on Stevie, giving it a great 45% crowd reaction. Stevie eventually takes too much punishment and goes wild, smacking Jeff with a fire extinguisher. Weapons galore in this brutal fight, with both men taking advantage of the backyard's equipment. In the end, Stevie flips Flame into a chair, and as he gets up, Stevie plops him hard with the plastic world title! A 71% quality, and a great 58% overall ends with Stevie defending.
We got a record breaking (>_>) 54% card rating, three points up from the last one! I'm certainly not going to complain with that.

November
To start the month off, I hired one of the college kids who watched End of Days, Aiden Nathans. I opted to give him a good gimmick to match his charisma, so he's King Trash, the ruler of the homeless!
JAWP lost their show but quickly gained a new one from Comcast. High Impact was bumped up to the primetime.
Advertising is still 1%, I can't afford to go any higher at this point. We're at 15% public image, which means we're rising steadily. I thank the boom in the wrestling industry.
Money-wise is going partially okay. We're just barely turning up profits every month. Tidal Wave wanted a 10% pay rise, so I took it out of his rent, since he was still staying with us.
Billy Randall took over EWR, and a lot of people quit over it. CW picked up Silly Stevie from us, but only on an open contract so we're good. I don't know how safe it is to keep the belt on him as his overness gets up there (him and Flame are both at 40). ICW went up to cult level.
We got a review from Adam Ryland on the internet, it went like this:
"I'm going to take a look at GZW(Ground Zero Wrestling). A backyard fed by Rebnik DesTerek, they are said to be finacially healthy. Currently charging $10 for what is described as a risky show. Their two biggest assets are Jagged, their most talented performer, and Silly Stevie, their most bankable wrestler. In total, they have 10 workers on the roster, including two managers and eight active competitors."
TECHNIQUE!
1. Jagged
2. Kory Williams
3. King Trash
4. Masked Power
5. Jeff Flame
6. Silly Stevie
7. Hardcore Ninja
8. Tidal Wave
Quote:Backyard Brawl!
Silly Stevie will be in the house on the 27th to defend his title against former pro football star Kory Williams! Also in attendance, Tidal Wave is going to try to break his losing streak against the Masked Power, debuting star King Trash will be up against Hardcore Ninja, and a battle of females when Vanessa and Christina collide!

BACKYARD BRAWL!
A great fall evening as the crowd of eighteen showed up to watch the events unfold. Again, mostly college and high school kids, but it's getting more diverse. We had to get more lawn chairs, and still don't have enough for everyone.
First out was Vanessa, to churray of cheers. Kory Williams followed her, posing for the fans.
Vanessa: Well howdy y'all!
Cheers from the audience. I'm still wondering why she got booed on the first show
Vanessa: Tonight is such a big night, y'all! You get to see kick the booty off of that rude mexican girl! And later tonight, my boy here Kory Williams is gonna win us some world championship! Are you listening in there, Stevie? I know you're worried about Kory here, but don't worry, we'll make it quick and painless!
Kory Williams: Yo, let's get on with it, baby.
Vanessa: Allllright! Come on out, Christina, let's show these people what they want!
67% rating. I love me some Vanessa.
Vanessa vs Christina
As expected, a bad match. A 34% crowd reaction is okay, but the quality was only 36%. I guess I can deal, neither of them are actual wrestlers. It was a back and forth slapfest on the mat. My tree continues to take a beating, this time with Vanessa hitting it head first. A lame 33% match ends with Vanessa hitting a DDT and winning it. Afterwards, Christina is livid and cusses everyone out in spanish.
Masked Power vs Tidal Wave
Masked Power came out to help Christina, and then began his match immediately after. A decent 60% saw Tidal Wave obviously trying to prove to me he deserves to stay on the roster. The crowd was into it too, a 30% is decent enough. Still, I think I'll be trashing Tidal Wave as he just isn't into the gimmick. Masked Power kept using his strength, and finally the huge mexican wrestler nailed a chokeslam and scored the three for a 45% match. Afterwards, Hardcore Ninja came out and seeked his revenge for last month. He smacked Masked Power over the head with a baseball bat, sprawling him to the side of the backyard. Christina tried to stop the Ninja, but got a facefull of fist.
Hardcore Ninja's oppenent, King Trash, stepped out of the house and into the backyard. He ignored the fallen bodies of Christina and Masked Power.
King Trash: I can see you're having some fun in my arena. You see, my ninja'd friend, this is my dome...the backyard. The outdoors. I don't need shelter. I can survive through anything.
The ninja looked at him confused, but the crowd was eating it up
King Trash: I hope you have plenty of those weapons handy, Ninja. You'll need them to survive through me. This is my domain, and nobody fucks with the Trash Man.
A lovely 59%, not the best but it sure got the point across.
Hardcore Ninja vs King Trash
King Trash amazed me with his performance, a 70% match with a 32% crowd reaction. Weapons weren't a big high in this match, but it was made up for with some good old fashioned beat downs. Ninja took Trash over to the fans for some beating, whilst Trash did some hot tub bumps onto Ninja. Trash set up around the end for a Trash Drop, but Masked Power was up from his beat down! Wanting to get to Ninja, he dropped King Trash with a Power DDT! The Ninja squirmed away, hit a dropkick on Power, and went up top. One Man Pearl Harbor off the hot tub, and Ninja won! After the match, King Trash got his revenge on Masked Power by nailing a Trash Drop in anger.
When everyone was cleared away, the crowd was treated to a promo from the crazy side of the split personality man, Silly Stevie!
Silly Stevie: I'm not gonna come and bore you, fans. My job, as an entertainer and a wrestler is to keep you happy! Now as you know, I have a serious medical condition that sometimes makes me not want to do that. But I have controlled myself just for this night. For this match. Kory Williams, I'm in the mood to hurt someone so come on out, you're first in line!
A 62% means Stevie deserves all the popularity he gets.
Kory Williams vs Silly Stevie?, Hardcore Match for the GZW Championship
The crowd was all over Stevie for a 39% even though both fighters are face. A decent 68% match quality started off with Williams taking the quick advantage. After some technical moves on the mat, things moved onto the grass. Stevie whipped Kory into the tree and dropkicked him back into it. Vanessa tried her best to cheer Williams on. The crazy Stevie continued the onslaught by slamming Kory into the fence.
Stevie took a moment to taunt with the fans, and it cost him. Kory speared Stevie back onto the mat and only got a two. Stevie got up to see a dropkick off the hot tub. After a couple minutes of brawling, Stevie slipped out of a poorly done suplex and hit a DDT! The crowd was loving it as Stevie set up for the finish. Williams took a bit longer then planned, but when he got up he sold the Stevie Kick and the win. A solid 53% match.
There was no rest for the victorious, as out of no where, Jagged flew out from the house! He smacked the now-trademark weapon of GZW, the baseball bat, onto Stevie's head, sending him down. Kory sold the baseball shot even worse, since the bat barely touched him. Stevie made up for it by taking another one.
Jeff Flame came out, laughing. He got some boo's.
Jeff Flame: Whoa, whoa, whoa, settle down there, tiger! I know you want to knock sexy competition like me out, but let's improvise. We got you and me, the obvious better wrestlers of GZW. We got Stevie, the psycho, and Kory the wanna-be. So, I propose, next month right here on Ground Zero Wrestler, we make a match for that title Stevie has cheated from us. A four way elimination match!
Laughing Larry and Mark Tegland were milking it out for all it was worth to the fans, who all made it known they were excited for it. Jeff Flame's challenge was a 53%, hurt by the fact it included the lesser known Jagged. Oh well, Jagged will be known enough soon.
The card scored a 53%, which isn't perfect as we went down one point, but I'm still proud of it. We're solid, not falling anytime soon. I'm excited. Are you excited? Yea...didn't think so.

I hated to do it, but I sacked Tidal Wave. He just wasn't into the gimmick I gave him and I wanted my superhero face to be a bit more important.
I picked up two wrestlers this month. One was Austin Lee, who would replace Tidal Wave as my superhero. However, he'd be the opposite element, and was dubbed Blazing Glory.
The second person was Ian Knoxx, who already was into some previous wrestling at the ripe age of 21. I took an 'x' off his name, and he was Ian Knox.
In wresting news, SW has jumped into regional mode. APW went bankrupt, which meant one less promotion to compete with. Christina and Vanessa both requested more money, which I agreed to since they hadn't fucked anything up. CZW got a T.V. show, and WWE Heat was bumped up to primetime.
Around the house, life went on. Most people had gotten their own places to live now in their third month of Tennessee life.
BRAWLERS!
1. King Trash
2. Ian Knox
3. Jeff Flame
4. Blazing Glory

GZW Brutal Holidays!
We only gained one new fan this week, upping us to nineteen. Ah well, guess I can't say I'm too surprised, our huge growing streak had to end at some point.
First out to a churray of boos is Jagged, his skull mask strapped in tight.
Jagged: Go ahead and boo me! See if I can! I've bled for this company. I asked for your support! Your love! Your generocity! But no...you had to fail me. Well I'm done asking for attention! I learned if you want something, you have to grab it yourself. Well god damnit I'm gonna do just that! I'll make you give me attention! Tonight I'm gonna take that world title and you will ALL have to look at me! Ground Zero Wrestling, welcome to my era...Welcome to Hell!
58% is pretty good, welcome to the party Jagged.
Jagged vs Blazing Glory
A 30% crowd reaction for the debut of the new superhero in town. It was basically trial and error against Blazing Glory, who seemed unstoppable. Jagged went off the hot tub, into the fence, he tried it all. It was a record breaking 83% quality match, ending with Jagged hitting a cheap eye poke on Blazing Glory, then hitting the Jagged Edge for the win. A 56% overall. Blazing Glory tried to have a handshake with Jagged, but it was refused.
King Trash came out next, to plenty of cheers.
King Trash: You know what I hate? People who think they're better then us. People who live in houses and look down on us on the street. They think we don't notice but we see everything. You think I'm sad about how I live? Hell no! I'm damn proud to be street trash! Now this new guy...Ian Knox. He's one of those high class rich kids. What do you all say tonight I pound this kid's head in?!
A good response, but something isn't clicking. Only a 50%, but that's too bad.
King Trash vs Ian Knox
A 33% crowd reaction and a great 71% match quality. Ian Knox is pretty much thrown around by King Trash. Trash bends the rules a number of times by sending Knox into the house wall, and into the tree. Finally at threat of DQ, he settles for the mat where he hits a Trash Drop with little struggle. A 52% match-up showing Knox knows how to put a good match on, even when he's pretending to suck.
Out next is Masked Power, accompanied by the sexy Christina.
Christina: Tonight, compadre's, the score will be settled. Hardcore Ninja put in his place. We have been harassed and cheated by this wanna-be martial artist long enough! I personally promise everyone here that nobody has to worry about that midget any longer!
Masked Power: Enough of this talk! Ninja, come on, I've waited long enough!
Masked Power vs Hardcore Ninja
The duo put on a solid and enjoyable 69% bout, going up and down the backyard. However, the crowd seemed to choose this match to go in and out of the backyard, giving us only a 13% match. I think Masked Power might have some effect on it, as this happened once before. Either way, Hardcore Ninja kept in the air as much as possible, his speed easily defeating the power that the monster mexican tried to put out. Things changed when Power finally caught Ninja in a powerslam, but it only scored a two. The ending dragged a bit, but Hardcore Ninja planted a legdrop on Power to score the win!
After the match, Christina tried to end Ninja's momentum herself, but ended up on the receiving end of a DDT. Only a 41% match thanks to the crowd being busy bees.
The main event was drawing near, and to hype it was Vanessa and Kory Williams.
Vanessa: Howdy y'all! I know why you all came here tonight! You didn't come for no masked fat guys! Uh uh! You didn't come to see a guy with a skull on the outside of his head! I know you ain't here for that wanna-be diva Christna! No way, you're ALL here to see Kory Williams take home the GZW World Championship! YEA! Jeff Flame, baby, you made a hell of a mistake in letting Kory into the match. Think you can hack it?! Come and try, baby!
Vanessa always delivers the goods. 66%.
Silly Stevie? vs Kory Williams vs Jagged vs Jeff Flame, Hardcore Match for the GZW Championship!
The clash between four of the most talented wrestlers scored a 45% crowd reaction, lowered by Jagged still being low in overness. The match was definetly hyped up right, a 72% match quality the whole way through. Towards the start it was Stevie and Kory paired off against Jagged and Flame. Jagged switched things up by hitting a front press off a lawn chair onto Stevie and Jeff Flame both. The World Champ moved on to take beatings from Kory Williams while Jagged and Jeff Flame swapped off technical moves. Jeff Flame broke the weapons out and took control with a baseball bat, hitting all three one by one. Jagged speared Flame as he was distracted by Stevie's recovering body. The World Champion stood up only to be knocked back down with a bat by Kory. Williams set up and successfully hit the Pumphandle Slam! Kory Williams pinned and the champion, and it's done! The world champion is eliminated FIRST!
Williams got right back into the fray by double clothlining Jagged and Flame. Vanessa cheered him on as Mark Tegland on announcing informed everyone that no matter what, a new champ would be crowned! Kory Williams lost his momentum after Jagged and Flame double teamed him into a tree, and then left him motionless on the mat. As Jagged went to demolish the young black man, Flame turned on him and dropkicking him in the back! A recovering Kory Williams caught and rolled up Jagged, and eliminated him!
Vanessa started a 'Kory' chant, which I joined in as well. Williams ducked a baseball swing, but got hit with the second. When he got up, it was obvious that he was bleeding (we started using blades, no more real blood). Several close pinfalls on Williams, but he kept getting up. He may not have been good on the mic but I was happy to see that he made up for it in the ring. In the end though, there was no dramatic reversal that gave Williams the win. Flame continued to wear down the young man, and then blasted with the powerbomb. 1-2-3, Jeff Flame had finally gained the GZW World Championship in a 57%, just one point shy of winning the best match yet!
The match was great, the event was great, and it definetly earned the right to be the card of the year. 55% baby, yes!
After the card, I came out to present the yearly awards. I didn't make it out to be anything big, but I figured this was our first end-year, we had to make it good.
