On June 8th, 44 people will step foot on an island.
On July 6th, 1 person will be declared the winner of Dante's Abyss.
This thread is where I'll reveal little things about it, answer questions, and just plain hype up the game.
It all leads up to May 25th, when sign-ups will officially open.
All questions regarding DA should be forwarded to me as I'll be running this saga single-handidly.

Is it going to be set up like last time. As in the island and gates and such. And also will I be allowed to participate longer then I did last time. Becuase dieing before day two sucked.

I know absolutely nothing they don't know. Rei would like that, but I like knowledge! =P
*hypes* I'm like really becoming active so that I can do my storyline; I'll probably write another roleplay after I beat this darn mission.

There is one island, set up on a map that players will travel on.

You're only in it as long as you deserve.

That's still being decided. As of now, we can expect the afterlife to get a lot of visitors. This may change

First off: HAHA! HAHA! I TOLD YOU SO! You all thought I was crazy but I was riiiight! *breathes* Give us the details. Everything. Here are some questions to get you started =O.
1: Mister Burter! How will this year's competition differ from those in the past!?
2: For those new to Dante's Abyss, give a brief run-over on what the contest entails.

DID NOT!

All in good time

This is less free form. In the past, DA has had people just run into each other and fight, then a staff judges it. This didn't work out because people deliberately ran away from strong people.
In this game, all fights are written by me.

Kill or be killed. Last man or woman standing wins.

Q1: Will I win this one?
Q2: Why not?
When in doubt: It was sarcasm.

You have a good chance.

You're lazy.

Huh? I don't know what this means. I could probably guess what it basically means, but I bet there's more about it . . .?

Only 44 people allowed in this one? Is it being set up more like a tournament and less along the lines of a free for all? Or will we still be able to randomly attack or ambush other characters?
And are there any "big" suprises/changes from the last DA that we can expect, that you can reveal to us?
Oh yeah, and how will the fights be judged this time? Will rping still be predominant, with power level the secondary factor, or will things be switched around?

Then a more specific question:
Will you have our fights at least make some sense, or will they be completely random? I'm guessing you'll force is into 'em, but will they have any bearing on story whatsoever?
EDIT: The last one only had about 45, Twenty, so it's only be one less than that chaos.

Isn't that somewhat akin to Monster Rancher, in other words, you just send your guy in and then watch the battle? >_> How, in that case, will the fights be decided? Purely on power/techniques, or will it be like, based on the pre-fight banter or something? What will the players actually be roleplaying to prove their worth?

Correct

I plead the fifth

Lots of changes, nothing I wish to reveal yet.

Yea, they'll make sense. I make it a goal to read every word posted, so I keep up to date one everything and tie it into my own posts.

This will be the first official thing I reveal, as it's a huge topic. If you'll just give me a moment to fetch the file...

Quote:Basically, there will be a map that everyone will travel on. When people that are not in an alliance pop into the same square, a fight will be written up. Usually, someone will be eliminated as a result of the fight. The fights are judged (by me), with the following things in mind:
--Writing, first and foremost. Quality over Quantity, but of course 9 good rps will beat 1 great rp. What I look for is "am I interested in seeing the character continue in the game?" I'll warn people that long novel posts bore me, but if they do it right, it could be a huge advantage.
--Ki Level. Someone who has 1 ki better be spitting out Stephen King quality rps if he wants to beat someone with 1,000 ki. Power-Ups come into play too. If you wanna use a power-up, you just lemme know that you'll use a power-up in the next fight you're in. However, you'll be tired for a certain amount of time (6 hours for 10x, 15x and 20x. 12 hours for x40. 18 hours for fusion and 24 hours if a third tier is reached with the help of an item). Being tired will be a slight disadvantage in fights, and you can't power-up again till you arn't tired anymore.
--Alliances. 6 on 1 is obviously better odds then 1 on 1. At least, it is for the 6 =x. But of course, if the 1 is a magnificent rper, he could live.
--Injuries, which will be gained as a result of fights. If you barely survive a fight (like a close judged fight), the injury will be more serious. If it's a landslide win, you likely will get away unscathed.
--Weapons. Obviously someone who has something like a machine gun Ki Rifle is gonna have a slight advantage over someone who has a spoon.
--Mental Stats play the tiebreaker role.
I'll leave you to wallow and discuss that. No more questions till tommorrow! Bye bye, good night!

It would incriminate you? =P
Is it first-come-first-serve type deal, or more like FoFII?
