Okay, here are the rules of pupilage! (as far as I can understand it)
You CAN have a pupil of your own under one of your own masters. However, only the first pupil of yours will give bonus xp to your master, and all following pupils will be worthless.
You can make a pupil under someone else's master Brute, but only the first pupil will give bonus xp to the other player's Brute.
If you make a pupil under a "master" Brute, the pupil sucks balls, you stop playing with it and make another pupil under the same "master" Brute then the new pupil will give no bonus xp to the master. Kinda lame, but that seems to be the way it is!
