Not only is the baton good at blocking and has a decent counter, it also has a fairly high chance to disarm for its strength.

My #1 Brute, K. Sasaki, has reached the mid-7000's in the ranking tiers of Sticking Plaster Rippers. Apparently it's a highly contended area. He's been as far as #7180 a few days ago, but now he's been pushed back to #7820. It's difficult to get his win percentage up since tournament match-making is somewhat random, but he's the only ranked member of the clan so I've gotta represent. :B
Finally got my third clan brute, Miyamoto M., up to level 10. Six players attacked him after level-up and he won 4 of those matches. He's had the trident for a long time, and with a brand new lance as an extra counter-attack weapon to compliment his 6th Sense, Shield, and Impact skills plus good Agility he's going to stay a contender in the top five of the clan for a long time. Wouldn't be surprised if he earns a rank soon.
My newest brute, KICKASSMUTHA, is the first of mine to get the extra-thick skin ability. I've noticed during tournaments that it's very popular at level 10+. His stats are shit but he's got a nice arsenal (knife, baton, club, trident, trumpet) so Arena fights have been mostly hit-or-miss. Hopefully, a damage reduction skill will give him the edge he needs to be a winner, and if so I plan to add him to the clan.

I've noticed unless you have 2000+ pupils like those arena winners, you'll never win an arena.
How they got 2000+ pupils that all are active is beyond me.

You have to be part of a very large, active internet forum or several smaller but still active groups. Plus, there is (or at least there was) a way to cheat but I don't know anybody who's been able to do it successfully so they might have patched it.
