You guys are gay for Heroes.
Chekov was RUSSIAN
And I thought it was a pretty sweet movie. I still like "The Dark Knight" more, but that's because I like Batman more than Star Trek. Kid Kirk driving that car off the cliff was badass.

Saw the movie for a second time today. I nearly died of cardiac arrest...again.

At least Kirk's step-dad had good taste.
Kirk's a prick.

Correction: THIS Kirk is a prick. Alternate universe and whatnot.

I'm sure the assumption is that he started out a reckless young man and then matures. He's like 20 in this film, and a "farm boy".

Star Trek has been around longer than Star Wars IMO.

There's no opinion about it. Trek started in the 60s and Wars came out the next decade.
When in doubt: It was sarcasm.

Yeah, but Star Wars came out before Star Trek 2009.
Saying that was the basic set-up of these portrayals. Not that that is a bad thing, because Star Wars is amazing, but still. And you really think a Star Wars geek wouldn't know Star Trek unfortunately took the OMGSPACE medal first?

Another universe? I was fairly certain that it was long long ago in a galaxy far far away.
And by those terms, all of Star Wars happened looooooong before Star Trek's 2400 or whatever dates.

They are both massively overrated series, imo.

Star Wars isn't overrated.
And I'm just saying that the characters' portrayal in this Trek movie were drastically similar to the Original Trilogy. No reason to get defensive.

I'm seeing Star Trek Sunday. I'm not a big fan of crowds so I always wait a week or two to go.
