Good bets are Garrus, Miranda, and Jacob for the fire team leadership roles, but only if they're loyal.

Does anyone know what happens if you have Miranda with you at the boss fight and she isn't loyal when the call comes..?

If anyone's not loyal and with you in the boss fight, it's curtains for that party member.

I dont agree with grunt being a bad leader. He was loyal to me and i used him to take my crew we saved back to the ship and his amazing kroganness allowed him to survive. So he is good for that.

Anyone can take the crew back to the ship. Even Mordin.

Grunt's a bad leader. It's a statistic you can't see in-game, but he is. It's just numbers.

In fact, it's advisable to have Mordin take 'em back. Because he sucks at everything else.

my mordin was pretty bad ass actually i used him as a sniper for some ungodly reason and he actually didnt do to bad.

Just beat ME2 again. I grabbed the Kasumi DLC. This time through I got all the loyalty stuff done. I only lost Tali.

A big twist for me is the fact that I stayed true to Ashley. >.>

mmm i see no reason not to have a party of crazy-good combat and fuck-all on techs and biotics

On the easier difficulties, you don't really need the Tech and Biotics. You totally can slap on some ammo and just go to town.

The harder difficulties require you to burn through various armor types which all but require the various Tech and Biotic skills designed to get through them.
